A Fool and Your Money Are Soon Parted

Owing to our grueling schedule (it takes a surprisingly long time to make enough gruel to last all week), we're unable to post any 100% new content today but can assure you that there's also no 100% new news.

Which makes it a great time to swing wide the door of the Hope n' Change archival vault to remind everyone what an annoying, socialist tool Joe Biden is.

FROM THE VAULT: SHEKEL SHACKLES (Feb 27, 2015)

obama, obama jokes, political, humor, cartoon, conservative, hope n' change, hope and change, stilton jarlsberg, biden, emancipate, wealth, black history

Joe Biden hosted a Black History Month event at his residence on Monday ("Try the hors d'oeuvres," he insisted, "They're all made with George Washington Carver's peanut butter!") and as usual ended up with controversial comments sticking to the roof of his mouth.

After years of hearing that taxpayers want him to keep his hands off their "cotton-picking money," Joe apparently came to believe that the money really is picking cotton, singing spirituals, and being held in slavery by the evil rich.

"This cannot stand!" Biden shouted at the invitees, nearly causing his stovepipe hat to topple. "It's not fair!"

"Business experts are saying that the concentration of wealth is stunting growth," Biden continued in a clear reference to former child star Gary Coleman, "So let's do something that's worthy of emancipation!"

Presumably, Biden's idea of emancipation consists of "freeing" money from the capitalist bastards who actually worked for it and using that liberated wealth for something much more important: the funding of the Left's vast, and nearly inescapable, vote-producing entitlement plantations.

Hope n' Change finds it sadly ironic, especially during Black History month, that when our nation got its first black president, he looked at all the possible contenders for vice president...and chose to pick a ninny.

Meanwhile at the NAACP...

Well, the most encouraging fact is that we patriots are mostly veterans and outdoorsmen who have experience in weapons training. Although the liberals have no hesitation to destroy others' property they show a willingness to run when faced with a superior force. CWII will be quick and nasty, in my opinion. I do pray that it doesn't happen but if it does there will be no shortage of true Americans willing, ready, and able.

M. Mitchell Marmel said...

@Fred: Hear hear. A chum of mine postulates that if CWII starts on a Friday morning, it'll be over by noon and we'll be able to enjoy the rest of the weekend... ;-)

I don't think it will be that simple; and admit to near total confusion about all this. On one side there is still a LOT of strength and goodness in our nation and much cause for hope. On the other so many causes of serious concern going back much father than just the last 12 years. I'll only mention a few: Long slow changes in Education; World Industry; Ethics; Environment; Religion, & Family Culture. Add undesirable uses of the Internet and loss of the "Forth Estate"; we already have a problem. It's all been morphing for a long time. We may indeed be near the trigger-pulling stage this year; but if using THAT specific action as the descriptor... it's long-stroke, slow, smooth, and very light trigger. And what exactly do we aim at? And what happens next? I think we'd better ease back to good intelligence, good governance, good education, obeying the Constitution & law with common sense, self-discipline and equal justice. Americans make a mistake in thinking the entire world thinks like us. In many cases they do and that can be delightful; but in others they do not and they never will. OUR LEADERS must be a lot smarter and less corrupted. And THAT takes a better educated and more active Electorate on top of widespread integrity and work-ethic.

There seems to be a lot of wishful thinking and chicken counting among the "we have all the veterans and the guns and they're all soy latte drinkers" crowd. They seem to have forgotten that Al Qaeda was trained by an ex-Special Forces sergeant, John Mohammed. An awful lot of veterans aren't the flag waving patriots you think they are. They used the military as a Job Corps and never had any intention of cashing that proverbial check they wrote to Uncle Sam, but they got the same training everyone else did.
Never underestimate your opponents.

@Old 1811: Couldn't agree more. Those who believe 'we have the guns, therefore', ought to ponder the Russian Revolution. True, its rural population was relatively unarmed, but there was the White Army. In the end, it was Trotsky's urban armies that unfortunately for humanity, carried the day...

TrickyRicky said...

@Old 1811 and Anon- How many hardcore revolutionaries did Castro need to conquer Cuba? What percent of the population was involved in revolutionary combat? You don't need nearly as many committed participants to overthrow a government as most would think.

Did anybody catch Pelosi talking about her 25th amendment "task force?" She's getting ready to dump Biden should the need arise, not Trump. Although I'm sure she wouldn't mind killing two birds with one stone given the opportunity.

CW2... It's easy to say you'd start shooting to quell a commie takeover from within, but dreadfully difficult to actually point your gun at another human being and pull the trigger. If some nutball is trying to break into my house to cause my family harm or take what's mine, he's gonna get 3,000 fps lead poisoning. Going out on the streets for actual warfare? Hmmmm...

And if things actually come to that, there would be countless factions claiming their plan is the best, and recruiting followers. I don't think an actual CW2 would just be the "hippies" versus the "rednecks!" Per Old 1811 above, there are a lot of John Mohammed's out there ready to use something like a civil war to further their agendas.

Just returned from another journey across the fruited plain. Definitely saw more Biden signs than the last time out, (where we saw literally only one) but far fewer than the number of Hillary signs that existed at this point 4 years ago. You can easily tell who the Democrats are by the signs for state and congressional representatives; just no accompanying Biden signs as you'd otherwise expect. I take this as a clear sign that not only is there absolutely no enthusiasm for Harris/Biden, but a degree of embarrassment as well.

As for the pending civil war: It's been my argument that absolutely nobody will win it; It's just that the soy latte beta boy crowd will suffer much more than the more self-sufficient types will.

A decade and change ago, presumptive Presidential nominee and sleazeball ambulance chaser Democrat John Edwards chose the battle between a theoretical "Two Americas" as his dominating Presidential meme, "Two Americas" of course being the decades-old Democrat narrative of the "rich" versus the "poor". Of course, he was wrong.

The real "Two Americas" are the growing class of beneficiaries of government largesse versus those who are presumed to pay for it. And the left has been nurturing it's welfare class for decades. This isn't limited to "the poor", but everyone from the lowliest welfare mother through the growingly enslaved middle class to billionaires dependent upon the government continuing to feed their coffers and maintaining their government-sustained monopolies.

I don't think this supposedly impending civil war is going to play out like previous ones, with people shooting each other on battlefields. It's going to be an economic one, as the class of people who actually produce the goods and services that other people rely upon slowly "go Galt" and our money becomes worthless, Venezuela-style. Everyone will eventually suffer, but the dependent classes the worst. People with hard skills to barter will survive the best.

@pilotlance- I don't think the country would be over unless the Dems get the trifecta of House, Senate, and President. If they do, we can all learn the Queen's royal wave to say "buh-bye" to the American experiment.

@Fred Ciampi- I hope it never comes to that, but if it DOES I'm glad that it's the good guys who are armed. I'm quite worried about the violence that will ensue (the Left against civilization) if Trump wins a second term.

@M. Mitchell Marmel- Of course, that's also what a lot of Yankees and Confederates thought a long time ago...

@Section147- Yep.

@Rod- Amen, brother! Very well put!

@woodjunky- It was!

@Old 1811- Good advice. There's no way armed conflict could be quick, efficient, or likely to end well.

@Anonymous- A good history lesson that we shouldn't ignore.

@TrickyRicky- "Asymmetric warfare" throws everything into question. Those who don't fight by any rules can be the most dangerous.

@Colby Muenster- I agree with your assessment of how ugly, messy, and confusing such a conflict would be.

@John the Econ- Excellent assessment. Now I have to figure out if being a smart-aleck writer is a hard skill that I can use to barter with...

Well, Joe thinks he's running for the Senate again, so...

Edam Wensleydale said...

@Colby: Unsure about that. If there were any competent soyboy shooters out there, they couldn't help but brag about it and we'd see their vids all over the place.

Instead, we see ACAB fleeing in terror when one of their own has a negligent discharge... and all the videos I see have the competent shots aligned with Truth, Justice and the American Way.

I rather suspect most of the rest will follow ACAB's sterling example. Any soyboy vets were prolly REMFs who never fired a shot in anger while "serving" in the armed forces...

Biden's non-gaffe of the week:

The voters do not deserve to know if he'll pack the Supreme Court.

I guess we'll have to vote for him to find out what he'll do. Or not, because the Democrats have already made it pretty clear: They're going to do everything they accused Trump of planning to do 4 years ago.

Love how he always has to change the subject.

"Vote for the senator and vote for the President".

Well, that's what people did 4 years ago and then the President picked a nominee that is today being confirmed in the Senate. So what's the Problem, Joe?

@Edam Wensleydale -- I was a REMF, but we pulled perimeter guard at our camp north of Pleiku City. Although I never fired a shot in anger, I did fire a few with great sincerity.
