Seals of Approval
Per the cartoon above, we do expect Brett Kavanaugh to be dragged through Hell and high water before his eventual confirmation as a Supreme Court Justice.
But our real purpose in combining these two stories is to celebrate these two very different but deeply inspiring occurrences. The amazing rescue of a boys soccer team from a nightmarish, water-filled cave renews our hope for mankind in general. Support came from around the world to save these young lives, and the courage and sacrifice of those involved is humbling and awe-inspiring.
We want to make special mention of Sgt. Major Saman Gunan, a 38-year-old retired Thai Navy Seal, who volunteered for the mission and gave his life to save others. He undertook a risk that few others would and, through his efforts, helped enable a miracle.
On a very different note, we found ourselves moved by (a very Presidential) Donald Trump's announcement of Brett Kavanaugh as his nominee for the Supreme Court, and a rundown of this jurist's incredible and accomplished life of service to others.
As far as we can tell, he's an exceptionally good choice for the nation's highest court...and one impossible for the Left and the media to legitimately tar and feather...although those slime-oozing anti-Americans will try their wretched best.
As a case (pun intended) in point, despite Kavanaugh teaching at Harvard (a position for which he was hired by liberal Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan), despite his volunteering for work in inner city schools, despite his championing of women in the workplace, despite his coaching of his daughters' basketball teams, and despite his regularly serving meals in soup kitchens, Democrat sleaze-weasel Terry McAuliffe has tweeted that "the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh will threaten the lives of millions of Americans." Apparently because somehow in that busy schedule, Kavanaugh still finds time to commit recreational genocide.
In truth (a word which causes Progressives to writhe and smoke like vampires caught in sunlight) Kavanaugh has an exceptionally distinguished record of strict adherence to the Constitution, with his legal opinions completely unsullied by his personal political beliefs.
According to our nation's founders, that's how the Supreme Court is supposed to work, and we look forward to Judge Kavanaugh's service for a long, long time.
Thinking about the Thai rescue along with US Courts, I wonder what the lawsuit situation would be if that lost-in-the-cave-then-rescued situation happened in the US.
ReplyDeleteI do hope Kavanaugh gets through the confirmation process quickly and unscathed.
Amen, brudda.
ReplyDeleteNow for the way more fun of the confirming of Justice (to-be) Barrett right after Ginsberg is discovered to not actually be found living but in an advanced state of mummification.
The earth will shake beneath us from the simultaneous explosion of millions of Liberal heads!
I had a surprise today. A law professor from Yale, a Democrat who voted for Hillary, gave Judge Kavanaugh a GLOWING ENDORSEMENT. I just wonder how Schumer is going to pillory that innocent, honest soul. Will he stand behind his podium and smear him with one of his bottom of
ReplyDeleteof the heart speeches from the tip of his nose, read through his horn rim half glasses that are always perched there. I guess that's supposed to be his Mr. Chips look. I just wish he'd say Goodbye and disappear into the sunset.

Well, just like former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley saying "Technically, it's not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts"...(She really did!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9SwAjkP33k
...I'm sure it won't be long till someone on the left informs us that "Technically, it's unconstitutional for judges to base their rulings on the Constitution."
9 th circus court of schlemiels declares Kavanaugh pick unconstitutional following Hawaiian judges ruling.......
ReplyDeleteThe Thai rescue reminded me of Apollo 13; seemingly impossible but when brave men band together, God intervenes. What an accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteAnd regarding the Kavanaugh appointment, I found this on another website:
The White House press office walked reporters by a portrait of defeated 2016 Democrat presidential nominee former First Lady Hillary Clinton as they were escorted to the East Room for President Donald Trump’s announcement Monday night of his second Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
The Daily Caller’s Benny Johnson posted photos to Twitter with a confirmation of intent from Deputy White House Press Secretary Hogan Gidley, “In a troll of deeply epic proportions White House staff just walked all reporters & journalists covering the SCOTUS pick by the dumpster & a portrait of Hillary Clinton. When I asked @hogangidley45 if that was on purpose he said “absolutely.”
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2018/07/epic-troll-white-house-walks-reporters-by-hillary-clinton-portrait-on-way-to-east-room-for-supreme-court-nomination/
“Recreational genocide” - I laughed so hard it scared the cat.
It's a little worrisome that George W. Bush, Lindsey Graham and John McCain praised President Trump for choosing Kavanaugh for his Supreme Court nominee.
ReplyDeleteI will soon be wondering what exactly is the full procedure to get the judge nominated, confirmed, sworn in & seated... and why are they doing anything else except just that, ASAP.
ReplyDelete@ JRMD @ Gene Varner: Using the word 'Bitch' to fully describe the that person just seems so inadequate. For me, vile, foul, pathological, venal come to mind, but alas these thoughts can't be fully expressed in one neat word.
ReplyDeleteWhile the news cycle on her delusional comparison of herself to Winston Churchill has come and gone, there is a line from one of the Austin Powers movies, which I've edited and post here:
‘Cause you’re not quite Churchillian enough. You’re semi-Churchillian, you’re quasi-Churchillian, you’re the margarine of Churchill, you’re the Diet Coke of Churchill, just one calorie, not “Churchill” enough’.
"Kill millions of Americans." In what manner? Abortion?
ReplyDeleteHaving done a bit of spelunking myself, I have to wonder what the hell those kids were doing in that cave during monsoon season in the first place? It cannot be an unknown or unusual occurence for the place to get flooded.
ReplyDeleteHere in Arizona our monsoon season has thankfully also started. The last place you will find me this time of year is underground or hiking down a deep narrow canyon known for flash flooding.
It's rather amusing to see Democrat Senators like Chuck Schumer, who spoke highly of Kavanaugh and voted to confirm his appointment to the US Court of Appeals, now acting like Kavanaugh is some kind of monster.
ReplyDelete@ Geoff King: I agree with your comment and also noted the ratio of 1 adult to 12 youth; which should never happen on an outing like that [BSA basic rules]. There will be time for that follow-up after the successful rescue, excepting the loss of the one volunteer. It does look like the young men (ages 11-16) handled themselves very well. That might not have been the case without pretty good adult leadership.
ReplyDeleteCalling HRC a bitch is an insult to female dogs. I'm with Fish Out of Water.
ReplyDeleteThank God for the rescue of those boys. I wondered, with Geoff, why they went into a cave in monsoon season. Perhaps the world needed a miracle or some good news for a change.
The libs are so predictably insane over Kavanaugh's nomination that it's laughable.
Praise be they're all out safe!
ReplyDeleteNow, we won't be having updates every 28 minutes that send me over the edge w/ sympathetic claustrophobia.
Agreed, all, calling HRC a bitch is normal, inadequate, and insulting to dogs.
Such a shame that 'they' are SO suffering w/ TDS they can't simply say. 'Nice Pick' and move the hell ON. I'm beginning to think that if Trump DID announce a cure for cancer, they'd bitch about unemployed oncologists...
Off topic, but accessing the site via my android, the page fills with unwanted Google ads. Have 'reported' each ad so as not to see anything, but it seems like scratching poison ivy: the more one scratches, the worse it gets. Any suggestions?
ReplyDelete@Pete: If Trump DID announce a cure for cancer there WOULD be unemployed oncologists..... That is why there won't be an announced cure for cancer. It's a multi billion $ industry per year and going up. They all deserve to be unemployed.
ReplyDeleteClearly, the Democrats have not yet learned the lesson of Trump. By screaming at level-11 over every single thing Trump (or any conservative, for that matter) does, they make possible the very extremism they fear. As pointed out above, Brett Kavanaugh is hardly the caricature extremist the Democrats paint. But then again, Trump could have nominated Barney the Purple Dinosaur and they'd go on about the imminent threat to the Constitution as well as the lives of children, women, minorities, etc as he commits his acts of recreational genocide going "Hyup, hyup, hyup".
ReplyDeleteI do find it amusing that as Democrats cry about Trump's "threat to the Constitution" as they also lament jurists who actually profess fealty to the Constitution, as opposed to your average Progressive judge who really doesn't care and makes up law on the fly.
But when you're ideology has been reduced to nothing beyond sheer, raw emotion, what more can a rational person expect.
But back to my original point, for Trump's next pick I hope that he selects someone who honestly should cause Progressives eyes to pop out. After all, since the emotional rhetoric is going to be at level-11 no matter who you pick, why not pick someone worthy of a level-11 response?
The Thai soccer team rescue was a true miracle, and a welcome diversion from the usual Trump Trump Trump Russia Russia Russia crap that we've been hearing non-stop for way too many months. I am grateful those young lives were saved, and it was very refreshing to see so many people from so many cultures pull together when it really counted.
ReplyDeleteIsn't calling Shrillary a "bitch" a bit like calling a Camry a Toyota, or calling blue a color?
@Bobo the Hobo,
I don't know who thought up parading "journalists" by the hag's portrait, but it was effing brilliant! Makes we wish Trump would sit in front of Barry's image every damn time he axes one of the little socialist's stupid executive orders, or signs legislation like tax cuts. They should put up a photo of Merrick Garland when they swear in Justice Kavannaugh!
It is so easy to become jaded and agitated and incredulous by the utter insanity we are subjected to all day, every day by the vile lunatics on the left and amplified by our woeful "media". I am relieved on several levels to have a happy ending to the tragic soccer team story.
ReplyDeleteOn the SCOTUS pick: This is the same as praising Osheit for his illegal stances and then trashing President Trump for enforcing them. Demorats never change, they just change crisis. Oh, yea, that "recreational genocide" was the best line I have read in a very long time. Accurate also.
ReplyDeleteNow to Judy and Pete: We will get no cures for anything serious as there is zero bucks in cures, only in maintenance. I would not give a dime for cure research regardless of the disease simply because it only leads to more buildings larger salaries and bonuses. Dr Royal Raymond Rife cured Cancer in the 30's using frequencies. He also invented a Universal Microscope that could watch LIVE viruses. You ever hear of either one? Yep, pictures of a live virus exist from then. What the medical community did to his research and life is beyond criminal. Others that solved that disease were also incarcerated and killed. (book by Barry Lynes 1987)
I'm banking on some mysterious woman suddenly appearing and claiming he told her he called himself Long Dong Silver...
ReplyDeleteSo, McAuliffe, the mouth-breather with an IQ of a tree stump, says DJT's pick will put millions in danger because he has the capacity of cognitive thought and a clear conscience. I can't wait for the rest of the usual suspects to chime in on Mr. Kavanaugh's nomination and prove once and for all that pond algae is further up the evolutionary chain than they are. Must go to the local bodega and pick up large quantity of Shiner Bock and a stack of Jiffy Pop refreshments to fuel the entertainment. This should be a good one.........
ReplyDelete"According to our nation's founders, that's how the Supreme Court is supposed to work, and we look forward to Judge Kavanaugh's service for a long, long time."
ReplyDeleteAmen, and from your mouth to God's (and the US Senate's) ears.
I just hope every "Republican" (i.e. John McCain. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Jeff Flake, etc.) are listening and realize that not a single DEM would vote against ANY nominee from a Dem President despite ignoring the following comment: The Constitution and Constitutional US Laws are the drivers as to how ANY court judge in the US should rule.
PS: When is John McCain going to let us know that he is on the road to recovery and fully able to soon represent the people of Arizona or step aside so that they can be represented in the Senate by someone?
@Sortahwitte: To use 'bedbug' to describe the most foul, vile public figure in recent memory is an insult to bedbugs. I would lean towards comparing her to some vile invertebrate that lurks in the deepest regions of the Mariana Trench.
ReplyDeleteBut I have also been accused by a democrat of not Moving On, that 30 years is enough. First thing, I was living abroad when her and her outed sexual predator husband gained national prominence, thanks to Ross Perot's over-sized ego and returned just as Monica and the blue dress came on the scene.
Second, I probably would Move On if she would. Even Al Gore had the grace and class to find another hobby and just be a mild nuisance, instead of acting like an obnoxious, spoiled child, at someone else's birthday party, who did not win the pin the tail on the donkey game and has decided to ruin the birthday party for everyone.
Hmm I could see a Stilton strip devoted to the continuing follies of the most foul, vile public figure in recent memory and outed sexual predator husband, until she realizes she's lost the pin that tail on the donkey game and needs to get another life.
@Dan- Geez, if that cave rescue had happened here there'd be lawsuits against whoever owned the cave, against the soccer coach, against the weather forecasting service, and against the rescue services for not getting the kids out of there sooner. Which reminds me, how can we get more lawyers to go spelunking during monsoon season...?
ReplyDelete@Gee M- Ginsberg should have a mirror held under her nostrils at least 3 times a day to see if she can still fog it. And I don't wish physical ill on her (or nearly anyone), but it's a simple fact that she can't hang on through a Trump second term - and maybe not his first one. And yes, the Liberals will go even nuttier that time around.
@Gene Varner- Last time I checked, "bitch" was way less offensive than "feckless c*nt" - but the Left didn't seem to have a problem with that latter term.
@Doris- I genuinely want to puke when I see Schumer declaring this incredible, inspiring judge to be some kind of monster. Are there no depths to which these loathsome political whores won't sink?!
@JRMD- The "nacho" joke about Hillary never gets old, and never will.
@Jason Anyone- Don't I recall the Obama administration suing Arizona for getting involved with "federal" immigration law (by enforcing it)? Sounds like Massachusetts may be ripe for getting sued by the Trump administration. In fact, EVERY sanctuary city/state should be sued and penalized.
@REM1875- I know you're kidding now, but who can say what the news will be tomorrow?
@Bobo the Hobo- The rescue made me think of Apollo 13, too. And isn't it amazing what people of goodwill can do when they focus on a goal without dragging politics into it?
ReplyDeleteRegarding the Hillary portrait and the dumpster, I so desperately want this to be true that I'm not going to do due diligence to check. I love it!
@Alan- Their endorsements don't bother me a whit. They're praising him, and not the other way around. And is it really so hard to believe that all three of those men, whatever their political leanings, respect and support the Constitution?
@Rod- Amen, brother. I keep hearing that the process may take months. Howzabout we give it a week or two, and if he stinks once he's on the bench we spend months trying to impeach him?
@Fish Out of Water- I love the Churchill quote! And regarding Hillary, I don't think I've ever referred to her as a b*tch without adding an f-word first. It never entered my mind that it was even possible...
@McChuck- The statement is true if you follow the tortured logic of the Left. They believe that nobody dies when aborted, because they weren't really alive in the first place. Therefore, if millions of children are born instead of aborted, they WILL die at some point...but wouldn't have if they'd simply been pureed in utero.
@Geoff King- Not knowing much about the cave (I can't look into too much detail without getting the screaming meemies), it may be that the chambers closest to the entrance don't fill all the way up (which would make it relatively safe), but the subsequent decision to avoid the water by going deeper into the cave was the big mistake.
I've only stepped into the mouth of a cave once...and I immediately started freaking out. So you will never see the name "Jarlsberg" in a headline involving cramped caves and monsoon waters.
@jpb252- I'd use the word "hypocrite," only it's about 99% too lame to describe what a lying sh*tsack Schumer is.
@Rod- Heaven knows mistakes were made, but it sounds like the group's leader acquitted himself very well in the situation. I'm sure he saved a number of young lives with his strength and presence of mind.
@Judi King- I genuinely can't get my emotional meter to move at all over the accusation that someone called Hillary a bitch. It's like getting outraged over the sky being described as blue.
@Pete (Detroit)- "Sympathetic claustrophobia" is something I think a lot of us were feeling. Especially when I heard about the 15" chokepoint, and realized that I'd never fit through. (Shuddering)
And I'm amazed but not surprised by the filthy lies and accusations the Left is spreading about Kavanaugh. When I heard the rundown of what he's accomplished in his life, I didn't just feel humbled - I felt ashamed that I've done so little good for the world by comparison. The man is a freaking saint - just confirm him and be thankful that his professional loyalty is to the Constitution rather than any ideology.
@Hangtown Bill- That's an amazing thought. I'll bet at least a few of those boys look into it.
ReplyDelete@Fish Out of Water- I'm hopeless at tech support, and have no idea why you're having that problem. I think I have two Google ad spaces on my blog (maybe 3?), but they should just sit there and behave themselves. On the other hand, if you want to look at it in a glass half full kind of way, just click on the ads and let them send a few cents to Stilton's Place.
@Judi King- I'm not sure I believe that the Big Cancer industry is hiding any cures, though I also can't say with 100% certainty that there aren't people evil and greedy enough to try to make that happen.
@John the Econ- I'm finding it hard to shake the image of Barney in judicial robes, explaining his rulings via public domain songs. This will likely be my nightmare tonight instead of being trapped in a water-filled cave.
I, too, laugh at the idea that Dems want to defend the Constitution in any way, shape, or form. They've often declared it a "living document" for one reason: anything "living" can be killed - and that's exactly what they want.
And I'm with you- Trump's next pick should be so wildly over-the-top Right Wing that Progressive heads literally explode. We've got nothing to lose!
@Sortahwitte- Ooh, you used the term "Modus operandi!" I think you just made Trump's short list for the next nominee! (grin)
@Colby Muenster- I also felt like the rescue was a miracle, and that's why I couldn't work up a good head of snark for the commentary du jour. I was just so filled with gratitude and appreciation of the sacrifices of others that I couldn't suppress it. Nor did I want to.
And I love your suggestions about other ways to tweak the Left with clever imagery. I would genuinely love to see ALL of that happen!
@James Daily- Wow, interesting info on Dr. Rife. I've never heard of him until now...but I'll do some digging. Thanks!
@John Holton- That wouldn't surprise me in the least. And I'll note, all these many years later, isn't it interesting how a name like "Long Dong Silver" sticks in one's mind? He'll be remembered long after Stormy Daniels has been reduced to drizzle.
@Rednad Kcin- I'm not a man who embraces the idea of violence. But Terry McAuliffe definitely strikes me as the kind of guy who could richly benefit from some instructive interaction with a Louisville Slugger. Hypothetically, of course.
Moreover, he's so far up Hillary's ass that it's a miracle we can even see the soles of his feet.
@Dennis Saputo- I completely agree with all your comments!
ReplyDelete@Fish Out of Water- I completely agree with your disdain for the idea of "Moving On." The Left always wants us to "Move On" when a moral crisis or scandal remains unresolved. So personally, I'm not moving anywhere until I see punishment appropriate to the crimes committed. I consider holding a grudge to be part of my civic duty!
