Give Us This Day Our Daily Brett

We'll freely admit the obvious: we don't have anything new to say about the Kavanaugh confirmation fiasco, other than that we hope it will be over soon.

Well that's not entirely true; what we really hope is that Kavanaugh's confirmation by the full senate will happen soon (perhaps Saturday), and that this result will be shoved forcefully up the Democrats' rectal regions sideways, sans lube (we'll make an exception for Ben-Gay), and then given a half-twist.

We further hope that Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh won't be a "forgive and forget" kind of guy, and will instead routinely end his legal opinions with large, bold, blood-colored lettering stating "Vengeance is mine!"

When the final vote comes Senators won't actually be voting for or against Kavanaugh as much as they're voting for or against complete anarchy and the end of due process. That's a verdict that should be of concern to every American.

Currently, it's being reported that the new FBI probe demanded by the Democrats has turned up absolutely nothing to indicate that Brett Kavanaugh was anything other than a typical (albeit high-performing) beer-drinking college student who then evolved into a remarkable human being of the highest standards imaginable. A gentleman, a scholar, and a demonstrable and lauded champion of women for decades.

We've had our fill of watching the Dems and the Leftist media casting stones at this good man. Now, we have to see if the Republicans have the stones to finally do the right thing.

  6. In other news, the test of FEMA's Emergency Presidential Cellular Alert System on Wednesday afternoon managed to annoy me and 225 million other people.
    I certainly hope they do not test the system at regular intervals like they do on tv and radio.
    I was on a 10 foot ladder pulling wire through a ceiling when my phone went off, making the most obnoxious sound possible. I almost jumped off into space thinking I had short circuited something.

    You'd better start working on the earwig for some of these damned Republicans now... but maybe this will work out OK. And I just can't wait to see the outrage. At that time maybe Trump will actually tell a White House Reporter to sit down and shut up.. or even better: Have them forcibly ejected from the room.

  11. I am spent in what I have to say about the "progressive"democratic-led lynch mob attempting to derail our legislative process, and to take another step forward towards destroying our institutions and society .

    The identity politics which greatly fueled the mob, conceived in the '60s , malignantly gestated through the '70s. '80s and 90's came to a head during the Presidency of the worst electoral mistake since the peanut farmer from Plains Ga, who I believe is having a good laugh viewing what he has wrought.


    But among the democrats in the House and Senate, other than its leaders and its self-styled 'leaders', are there not those dismayed and disgusted by what travesties are carried out? This should be a takeaway from the disgrace to our government and to your name in the name of identity politics.

  12. I live in a home-for-the-elderly. Yesterday one of the new residents spoke of getting rid of the president and he didn't mean sending him out for a snort at a local bar so that staffers could talk about Malania's body.

    Your humor in addressing Left-Wing violence is excellent because it reminds people to talk about how to keep the republic working well. Three of my friends are dead because of EPA mistakes. In two cases, it is considered murder. The third EPA-related death is suspicious.

    Add to that the FBI killings at Ruby Ridge, Waco and Bend. Then there are the Hillary killings and the violence of Anti-fa.

  18. As soon as Brett is confirmed I plan to start posting such things as "He will make it legal to carry concealed weapons anywhere in all 57 states. And in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Alaska too". "Brett will remove all speed limits including school zones". And as I think of more idiotic things to add I'll write them down so I don't forget them in the next 5 seconds.....

    I was watching Fox Noos and I saw a Bill Ayres look-alike (coulda been him) and a hefty young woman with orange hair fist pumping and screeching in lock step with one of the many Kavanaugh lynch mobs...when I vote in November I'll be thinking of those ass-clowns and their pain as not only will Brett be a new Justice but the Red State Buckaroos will still have a Senate majority [thanks, dims!).Like fingernails run down a chalkboard!
    I think Murkowski is the only Red female to vote "NO"...that's Alaska's shame to deal with.

  23. I can't remember if I had seen this idea here or somewhere else but I still think it would be wonderful if Justice Thomas was the one to swear him in. Oh the wailing that would go on from the left.


    As to what Judi King said about the majority of the women senators (deliberate lower case and that would at this moment in time apply to pretty much all of the senators. They don't really deserve a whole lot of respect.) voting against Kavanaugh it seems as if they are the ones voting along sexist lines.


    I am glad that my senator (Graham) has finally found some back bone. I guess the removal of McCain's sphincter from around his neck(for those who can't see the visual image. He had his head up McCain's ass) has allowed the blood to return to his head.

  24. What graduating at the top of your class at Yale is really like.

    So will someone answer me this: If Kavanaugh was falling-down drunk during most of the '80s, how was it possible that he was able to graduate at the top of his class? Is he simply that inherently brilliant, or are the standards (and competition) at Yale that overrated?

    The FBI Probe: The fact DiFi's office hasn't leaked it tells you all you need to know. We'll likely never see the 7th FBI report that just had to be done to see what a bad guy Kavanaugh really is because Kavanaugh was not the bad actor in any of this. Not only is there absolutely nothing damning of Kavanaugh in it, but it probably documents Dr. Ford's inconsistencies and/or outright lies. I doubt that this was a surprise to anyone on the Senate panel, but then again that was never the point. It was all just a ploy to buy another week and to fan flames.

    But the real loser here has to be Dianne Feinstein. It's my understanding that the copy that she got had redactions, likely having to do with how Dr. Ford's supposedly confidential letter was leaked by Feinstein or her staff. The look on her face spoke volumes. Having both destroyed what little credibility she had left and failing to satiate the far-left that has taken over the Democratic Party, she now gets to go home to California to deal with her staffing issues and face an election against a farther-left challenger.

    Just heard Chuck Schumer say that the Kavanaugh confirmation will be "the saddest and most immoral chapter in Senate history." Nothing more honest has never been said, and ironically from one of the architects of this s***show.

  25. So.... has anyone heard anything about Senator Daines (R - Montana)? Last I heard, he was adamant about being at his daughter's wedding Saturday, and would not be participating in the Kavanaugh vote.

  26. And another thing...........after the roll call vote was taken and the Ayes were clearly ahead, several senators were called again and answered with their No votes. It was as if they held their vote to see if more Nos were needed. When that started happening, I said to myself...the Ayes will be at 51, just enough. And sure enough. It seems a little fixed or phony or whatever to me.

    According to Breitbart News, Sen. Daines will have a plane standing by so he can fly back to DC and vote, if needed. An interesting note that Breitbart also brings out: if there are 50 "ayes" without him, he can skip the vote, thus making it 50-49 in favor of confirmation.

  29. As commander in chief, President Trump could actually have one of those AF super duper jets fly him back. What I can't work out is the 4 hour time difference. I could see it if he voted and then flew to Montana but W to E is beyond me.
    I wonder how many of these that lied to the FBI will Mueller indict and convict and toss in the pokey?
    Lastly, I am now wondering about the next SCOUS appointment? Rerun? If we get a larger majority in the Senate, a slam dunk without all this ruining lives in both parties.

Look, newspipples, either Pauline will be run over by the train, or she'll be rescued. Just report it as it is, no need to hyperbolize it. There are times that it's OK to tell us, as an update, that nothing has changed. Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

    It's getting so an avowed news junkie like me is starting to turn off the TV. I'll still listen to Bill Plante and Rush when I can, though. And check Stilton regularly.

And the other examples of government vs the people violence are all too real, as well. My greatest hope is that somehow people can again learn the art of having conversation and debate without rancor and threats of violence against those with whom they disagree.

    @John Fernau- I'd love to see Thomas swear in Kavanaugh, just to encourage more Leftists to go ahead and have aneurysms. For that matter, swear him in using a 24-pack of beer.

    @John the Econ- Kavanaugh made that point, but very few wanted to listen: how can you get high grades in Yale if you're passed out in your own puke when classes are being held? And how can you perform in athletic practice? I believe Kavanaugh was probably an occasional binge drinker, but definitely not a full-time lush.

    Good point about Feinstein, who absolutely deserves whatever punishment history eventually deals her for really creating this horrendous spectacle.

    And the ACLU is dead. They don't give a damn about civil liberties anymore, just fighting for who they like, right or wrong.

    @Dan- I'm with you on the overblown nature of "news" reporting on Fox (an exception being Bret Baier's broadcast). Every minor update to any inconsequential story is preceded by a "swoosh- DANG!" sound and a full screen ALERT graphic. It's ridiculous and cheapens the channel.

    And I, too, am deathly sick of the news. My biggest exception: the Wall Street Journal which does great reporting and great editorializing and, best of all, keeps them separate.

    @American Cowboy- Until very recently, I was using a Tracfone pay-as-you-go flip phone. The darn thing finally died, so I grudgingly got a cheap ($25) Tracfone smart phone. It has some amusing tricks, but it's too big to conveniently carry in my pocket, and I just can't keep up with all of the apps and doodads on it. Though I HAVE learned to send text messages to my daughter.

    13 weeks.

    13 weeks this farce has sucked the air out of the room, it has monopolized our attention. For 13 weeks it has only been this that Congress and the nation has been focused upon.

    Given 13 weeks without the drama, the baseless accusations, attempted character assassination and the organized, for-hire disruption funded by outside parties, what might have been constructively accomplished?

    In 13 weeks, Congress might have started dealing more with our older roads and bridges, with the approaching 24/7 gridlock in all our major urban centers, work to help rural areas have better access to high-speed internet.

    In 13 weeks, Congress could move to make our telecommunication providers step up and make it far more difficult than it is now or spammers, scammers and phishers to plague our phones lines and email accounts. In 13 weeks Congress might have made it easier for states to maintain and expand upon 'safe houses' for victims of spousal abuse.

    13 weeks of lost opportunity by a handful of "progressives" /"resistance" so blinkered and bound by their ideological chains they would burn the house down around them for the sake of their self-righteousness.

    In 4 weeks, remember that when you vote.

    At this point, all I can say is...my head hurts.

    From what I understand, the Founding Fathers did't envision 4 Libs, 4 Cons, and a swinger...uh...I mean to say, a swing vote. Ideally there could be 9 opinions in more or less agreement...using the Constitution (the "paper" one, not the imaginary bio-version "living Constitution" one) to reach consensus. Diversity being allowed but adjusting for current societal attitudes is not.
    Oddly enough Justice Brett may bring the SCOTUS back to it's intended functionality.

  43. Now, with the court firmly in control and agreement with the Constitution, President Trump is in a good position to add two more that would change this country for many many years. Now, if we can energize the base to turn out, we can decimate the democrat party where they will be irrelevant for years to come. If we can get a wider margin of Senators, and that is a good possibility, we will not see this scorched earth fight with democrats as the Rs would have the votes, even with RINOs, to shut it down instead of playing touchy-feely. One thing is for dam sure, they voters are paying attention.
    My main hope is after this takes place, Sara Palin runs against that traitorous Senator Murkowski in 2022. I can assure you she will be supported nation wide by conservatives and pounded unmercifully by demorats.

    A belief in one’s own virtue feels good. Losing a battle that could shape the American political landscape for decades feels bad. The tension between the two left some Democrats grappling anew this weekend with the implications: Maybe they really are the Wet Rag Party.

    “They are more ruthless,” said Jennifer Palmieri, who over a quarter-century has served as a top aide to Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. “And I don’t want to be like them. … The answer can’t be for Democrats to be just as cynical.”

    Unquote and back to me again. LOL! Stop it; I can't breathe. OMG that is a rich one. The Republicans are the savages. So say the angels of our society. They come up with things I could never think of. I call it some some sort of strange mental illness.

  48. @Rod- I can't really edit comments, but there IS a workaround I can use (and you can too, I think). I just copied your message, pasted it into the comment box, made the edits, and then made a new post as "you." I then erased the original message (I still see trashcans, but then again I'm the Head Honcho around here (grin).

    @Gee M- I'm pretty sure it's some kind of trashcan conspiracy!
