High Crimes and Table Manners
Yesterday, President Trump did the annual pardoning of Thanksgiving turkeys (there were two this year, named "Bread" and "Butter"), and we're fairly positive that there must be a lot of people angry about this for whatever reasons they can cook up in their fevered minds ("Sure - he pardons white turkeys!")
We're looking forward to Thanksgiving with the Texas portion of our family tomorrow, overeating, and catching up on family news. And the Jarlsberg family has much to be grateful for this year, not the least of which is simply being together.
Since we're already prepping for the big day, we're going to share some of our favorite Thanksgiving leftover cartoons from years past, and wish all of you a great and meaningful Thanksgiving. It is a day to celebrate and show gratitude and humility for the many blessings bestowed on all of us, including our friendships (whether in person or meeting here in the electronic ether).
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sioux and I are truly grateful for the material and spiritual blessings we have received. The kids from Dallas were here last weekend and the kids from OKC will be in Wednesday afternoon. All the blessings to you Stilt and all the hanger-ons and malingerers that inhabit this place among the electrons and the rings around Uranus. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteSchitt and Gollum: Separated at birth?
ReplyDeleteHave a happy turkey day all, and give thanks for our blessings (like not having Hillary as President)...
God bless you and your family, Stilt. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteWhy does every pic of Schiff-face look like he's peeing in a wall socket and secretly enjoying it ? Could explain a lot of things...........
ReplyDeleteHe’s just a constipated little turd. ( French translation: small piece of shit small as his penis)
Delete“”May God forgive me”—The Rev. Joel Ovaltine, (his first words at 6.666 months of age on street corner in Houston TX) film at 11.
Yuck Obama...
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving and thanks for the great posts,
“And if rings around Uranus are indeed truly verified, may the bleaching not be painful”—Pope BUBBA FRED the XXVIIIII Esq. - 2002.
ReplyDelete"Quid Pro Quo": the call of the Leftist turkeys.
ReplyDeleteYou also have an awesome Thanksgiving meal and holiday. Family is important - you never know who will be gone the next time you meet. So be kind to each other, regardless of the politics.
ReplyDeleteBlack Friday - I'm leaving that to the crazies, I only have a few 'wants' I can take care of fairly quickly and its rarely on sale so I'm getting mine early.
My wife asked me to stuff the turkey. I said "Where do you want me to stuff it?" Big mistake.......
ReplyDeleteI'm betting Trump is the only one with the giblets to throw some impeachment comedy into pardoning turkeys (with a quick roast of another). Gotta love it.

And wishing a festive, and safe Thanksgiving to my fellow inhabitants of Planet Stilts!
Funny how we don't hear anything about Malaria & Sushie anymore. Good.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Vegans are protesting; Trump pardoned Butter.
ReplyDeleteHow DARE you!
Happy Thanksgiving, Stilt. I sure do look forward to your posts. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteTo me, Schiff always looks like he's just bitten into a cat turd...and thinks he may actually like it.
Tomorrow I will be thankful that my "day before Thanksgiving" shift at the liquor store will be history. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteI will also be thankful for my incredible family, those still here and those who have passed. I will be thankful for the unparalleled blessing of living in the post WWII United States of America, truly one of the most fortunate souls to have ever lived on this planet. I will be thankful for my (mostly) good health for my age. Lastly I am truly thankful for the humor and insight and hard work of our interwebs host Stilton, who helps me get through these Kafkaesque times with a smile of my face.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Regarding Johnny Optimism's "turducken"-(Turkey stuffed with duck stuffed with chicken)--Would it be easier to just call it a "Chuckey" (Chicken stuffed into a duck stuffed into a turkey?
ReplyDelete@TrickyRicky - Amen to all that. and I love to use the term interweb, loudly, in public. It's like eating a candy bar with a fork and a spoon.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm thankful for a community of family and friends, caregivers and housekeepers who keep on keepin' on. And for Stilt, Busty and of course Lucy. Even if it's Leftover Lefty Lucy.
Were thankful at the house of ancient ones that we are still able to function and family will be incoming (bless em') and for the over reaching Grace of G od.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to all!
ReplyDeleteThis group of imaginary friends is just another great additions to all the things for which I am most grateful.
Yes, but did Trump pardon the OTHER turkeys, like Schiff and Pelosi? Prolly not.
ReplyDeleteY'all Stilton's Placers have a very enjoyable and blessed Thanksgiving!
Now to skip the rest of work today, and go get some rum for MY eggnog,,,,
Ooooooo! Now THAT would be nasty. Trump publicly pardoning Schiff, Pelosi and the Bidens for any past crimes, enumerating each one in detail...
ReplyDeleteIt'd have me helplessly paralyzed with laughter.
(continued) It'd be the funniest thing in politics since LBJ's "Make the sonofabitch DENY it!" line.
ReplyDelete"Hope n' Change" had phones? Who knew? And who'd call other than telemarketers?
ReplyDeleteMrs. Econ & I are quite thankful for our blessings, material and otherwise. We laugh that we're so blessed that we have absolutely no need or desire to participate in "Black Friday".
Happy Thanksgiving all!
Happy Thanksgiving day, all you great Americans, especially all you deployed overseas.
ReplyDeleteFor all you Libtards, Miserable Tofurkey Day.
Here's to wishing everyone a jubilant Meleagris Day!
ReplyDelete@Geoff King: You made me visit the OED, durnit! (Happy Turkey Day to you, too...)
ReplyDelete@Uchuck the Tuchuck: Speaking of, you should read Catturd.

Sometimes tacky but pretty funny.
some day the POTUS is going to come out into the rose garden with a hand axe and off the bird, then and there. put a little sign up to memorialise the main course of the meal and give thanks for the plenty we now enjoy. the snowflakes would spin so fast that they would drill themselves to hawaii.
ReplyDeletethe kids have no idea what the origins of their foods are.
