There's way too much to comment on today, so we'll just have to give you some short takes.
IOWA CAUCUS SNAFU - Per the cartoon, we think we can blame Democratic mischief and Democratic incompetence for the spectacular fustercluck which was likely intended to produce the credibly faked results that the DNC really wanted. Another perfect example of why Democrats shouldn't be trusted to run anything. Not to mention a great example of which party really interferes with honest elections.
IMPEACHMENT CIRCUS - In his closing argument before the Senate, Adam "Popeye" Schiff actually claimed that if Trump were not found guilty and removed from office, he could give Alaska to Vladimir Putin in return for election interference in November. If Schiff continues snarling and foaming at the mouth like this, we'd advise him to avoid the street on which Atticus Finch lives. Then again, maybe we wouldn't advise him of that.
CORONAVIRUS - We're not panicking, nor do we think anyone else should. But that being said, this nasty virus has gotten our attention and, at the moment, we think the potential gravity of this situation is being severely underreported. We've been following daily Youtube updates at this link which seem pretty substantive...and darned worrisome.
The point currently being made on that site is that this would be a really good time to lay in some practical supplies for your home just in case we all need to go into social isolation (have you seen the pictures of the empty streets in China?) and self sufficiency while this plays out. If you need a starting place for finding out what sort of things are really handy in a pandemic (besides chocolate bars, nylon stockings, and a lot of Clan MacGregor), we found a handy little ebook on Amazon that was free last time we looked. You can get it here - though do make sure it's still free before you get it.
THE STATE OF THE UNION - We're writing this before the speech has been given, so we can't tell you what was in it. But we can tell you what we hope was in it: a complete ass-reaming of all the assembled Democrats who have so thoroughly and enthusiastically betrayed this country and the Constitution...and still failed to bring down the President who'll have plenty of good news to share.
And finally, the only story we really want to talk about today...
The one and only. A magnificent patriot and an inspiration to millions. |
More than ever, we desperately need Rush's clarity of thought, keen analytical abilities, unsurpassed ability as a communicator, his wonderful sense of humor, and the calming influence of his optimism and positivity. His accomplishments and his ongoing importance cannot be overstated.
Rush Limbaugh, through his radio presence, was our personal conduit into the world of Conservative thought. When he first appeared in the Dallas radio market, we heard that he was a whack job and raving wild man of the airwaves. And so we tuned in, expecting an enjoyable freak show. We couldn't have been more wrong.
What we heard on Rush's show was sanity and perspectives we'd never thought about previously. In fact, it was Limbaugh who made us realize that we hadn't really been thinking at all when it came to politics, just acting on feelings and untrue stereotypes. Which is one of the reasons why, years later, we're still blogging to do penance for the many Democrats we voted for when we were young and stupid.
In our home, Rush Limbaugh has become a friend and companion. A constant over the years, and someone who we knew could both enlighten us and simultaneously lighten our burdens.
Rush's cancer diagnosis has hit us hard emotionally, but we're a long way from giving up hope. Limbaugh is a fighter, and we don't believe that we've heard the last from him. He has a rough medical road ahead, but hopefully he will be buoyed by the sentiments and prayers of the millions who love him.
And in the meanwhile, we'll do our best to soldier on right here - speaking truth as accurately as we can while mixing in enough humor to make it go down smoothly. A combination which we definitely learned from the man behind the golden EIB microphone.
BREAKING NEWS: Rush Limbaugh received the Presidential Medal of Freedom at last night's State of the Union Address! What an unexpected and delightful moment.
I can't wait to see how you will put Pelose's tearing President Trump's hard copy of his speech to pieces. I have never seen such a blatant display of ridiculous display of contempt for a president.
ReplyDeleteGene
Rush appeared to be rendered speachless.
ReplyDeleteI hope that the speed with which this accolade was delivered is not a reflection of the time Rush has remaining.
In other news Nancy is an ass starting with skipping the usual "It is my distinct honor and high privilege...etc. introduction, ending with tearing up her copy of the SOTU.
I did enjoy how often the look on her face said, "We are so screwed."
I was brought to tears as the awarding of the medal began- Praying hard for Rush to beat this thing. And I noted everyone standing up except that god-cursed whore of satan, that smegma scraping coprophiliac piece of shyte with legs, Pelousy. May she meet her end soon and descend to the fires of Hell.
ReplyDeleteThe SOTU was probably one of the best I have ever heard. The fools on Sleaze-BS got it right - this was the best campaign kick-off speech EVER! Giving the girl from Philly a school voucher, the 100 yr old Brigadier General, surprising the family with their husband/father, and giving the CMOF to Limbaugh were all great! Watching Pelosi tear up her copy of the speech was priceless!
ReplyDeleteIf even half of moderate democrats do not flee this party of sick individuals who put on this disgraceful show do NOT vote for TRUMP I will be surprised. What we and the world witnessed tonight was the implosion of the Democrat party. A group of politicians: A gay, a socialist, a liar and a gal grabbing lech running against TRUMP. What is there to think about.
ReplyDeletePelousy might have mistaken Trump's SOTU for the Constitution.
ReplyDeleteVery well said and drawn. Your clip of Rush makes it dusty here. Darn allergies.
ReplyDeleteWow, so many great comments! From the president’s “eat shit, Nancy” to her “fuck you, Donald” moment, the speech was the best I have seen in ages.
ReplyDeleteI keep the second debate video from 2016 in my favorites list on YouTube so now I might have to add last night’s speech to that list.
Awesome speech; one that surely will produce many campaign spots and one that proves President Donald Trump knows how to work a room. Hail to the Chief!
A sad time for Rush Limbaugh, but a great moment for America. He EARNED that presidential award and I think it was awesome of President Trump to do that honor on live television.
ReplyDeletePelosi's 'Temper Tantrum' really does put it out there for the entire world to see. Many on the Left have lost their minds and have no other way to vent their frustration. Much wine was drank I'm sure in her household.
I think Nancy was tearing up the Democrat 2020 Victory plans.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy some Rush-TV from "back in the day". https://youtu.be/lf8TOGrq8Bo
ReplyDeleteThis is decades old and still makes me LMAO
Iowa Caucus: On Monday night, the overnight DJ on KUAF-2 (classical music) claimed he'd won the Iowa caucus. Hey, who could gainsay him?
ReplyDeleteSchiff for brains: As you say, Stilton, untreated syphilis is a terrible thing.
Coronavirus: Did you know that a popular Mexican beer has renamed itself? ;-) https://www.the-postillon.com/2020/01/Corona-Ebola.html
SOTU: Just when you think the Honorable Sidewalk Scrapings from San Francisco can get any lower, she says, "Hold Mah Ebola Beer!"
Rush: What can I say? I've listened to the man for going on thirty years. I can't think of a more deserving recipient of the Medal of Freedom, and I can't think of a better way to present it... My thoughts and prayers are with him. Hey, I whupped cancer, he can too! :D
My son's family was watching the SOTU and he told me that my 6-year old granddaughter asked who the woman in white was behind the president. My daughter-in-law told her that she was like a bad Disney villain.
ReplyDeleteA magnificent speech! Giving Rush the medal was one of the highlights and brought me to tears. I had many laughs though watching pelosi's face throughout. She looked liked she was sucking lemons, but the kicker was at the end when she tore up the speech. How childish!
ReplyDeletePelosi's 4 year old like temper tantrum in ripping up the speech speaks volumes.
ReplyDeleteNothing else demonstrates Trump vs the Swamp. And nothing else shows the impotence of Pelosi and the democratic party.
Finally with the election now 9 months away, the last thing one would think of doing is to further inflame, fire up Trump's voter base, but I suppose common is in short supply in the democratic party? And yes, do understand she may have calculatedly done it for the other voter base
Someone in the White House staff might want to tell Trump's speech-writer that when the opposition is damned near unconscious, you can stop beating on them. For a while there I thought THE white dresses on the Dimocrat side were Hospice attendants.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand: Talk about special guests! As DJT was talking about conservative, Constitutional judges & mentioned there being "more in the pipeline"... a wax figurine of RVG seated between Gorsuch and Kavanaugh would have been a nice touch.
Poor Nancy showed her ass again, which figuratively; we don't want to see. Maybe she needed more booze before or during the SOTU address. Nan: What goes around comes around.
I never thought we would see Limbaugh speechless; but he was for a while. Stilton you're "right on" with your comments. The award is a good thing and IMO since I've also learned to not wait too long: It may not too early or presumptuous with Rush ; and is another example of Trump knowing what to do. I hope Rush fights it back for a long time, at least long enough to see this nation "adjusted; an effort in which he he's long had a significant role. I'm shocked by this news as well.
Actually, Pelosi's tearing up her copy of the SOTU speech could be considered a felony:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2071?fbclid=IwAR34L4R1wPb1-TN92Omqf_aG7n-JFwOSvgeFroht29ueCkoBBY1XOXIM2Ts
I'm thankful today for video recording. Thanks to VR, all future generations can summon "Nancy the Ripper" to get a real life view of a true partisan in our time. Truly amazing how one so proper and rightstandingwithgod can be so callous and dismissive of the accomplishments of another. Could it be thou art jealous of the guy whose only been on the job 3 years and you haven't accomplished dick since Nixon?
ReplyDeleteI've seen some rude performances on TV over the years but Pelosi's may be the worst. Her sitting, not clapping, etc. during the President and Mrs. Trump's presentation was behavior I thought was beneath her. Wrong again.
ReplyDeleteEvery news story I’ve seen on Drudge says that Trump refused to shake Nancy’s hand, THEN angered, she introduced him without the pleasantries. NO! It was the other way around, she started the evening’s war.
ReplyDeleteOh how I would now love to see a "Night of the Long Knives". Figuratively, perhaps, because then there would be so much more pleasure seeing all of the swamp creatures in federal prisons, now being able to communicating with the outside world or with each other. Enough for now for I must go and clean my musket and Blunderbuss and sharpen my lances and swords.
ReplyDeleteOf the so many great moments in last night's SOTU, perhaps the most telling was the ongoing sight of the entire Demon-crap delegation making complete and utter fools of themselves.
ReplyDelete@ Stud Hauk: the high point of her so-called life was being chosen Miss Baltimore Lube job of 1957(fish). There is at least one photo bouncing around out there showing her - swim suit, sash and all - posed in a grease monkey emporium. She was almost halfway attractive . . .
So you've all seen videos of folks who've just won the lottery. They get a big pile of cash, throw it in the air, and when it comes down, they lay down in it and make "money angels." If getting over on the Liberals could be spread on the floor, President Trump is laying down in the middle of it, making "gotcha again angels."
ReplyDeleteDidn't he say that we were going to get tired from all this winning? Not a chance!
For everything, there is a season. Rush may be coming to the end of his time on Earth, but his impact will last for a long time.
ReplyDeleteIn time, he will come to be known as one of those who gave courage to many, many others. He provided hours of listening pleasure. Hours of commentary to talk over with others, and find that - shock - they ALSO had the same reactions.
He enabled many to come out of the Non-Leftist closet - at home, at work, in the public arena. He launched many alternative-media creators, who now are, in their own way, mini-Rushes.
What SpectreRider said.
ReplyDeleteI believe Ms. Pelosi showed poor judgement in tearing up the SOTU speech in that she missed her chance to sell it on E-Bay.
And this year, she was doing all her disrespect behind his back instead of the face-to-face "seal clap" of last year.
And IIRC, she promised to resign as speaker if President Trump were acquitted. I say we remind her and hold her to it.
Wonderful post today Stilton. So much to cover. Well done.
ReplyDeleteRush has literally changed my life. I was a liberal/libertarian skull full of mush and couldn't stand him initially. My dear, departed, and very conservative Dad was a big fan from the beginning. I have come to my senses over the last couple of decades, and a lot of that is due to Rush. May he fight and win over this horrible disease. I that outcome is not granted by the Sky Captain, I pray he can live long enough to see a Trump landslide in November.
Pelosi is below contempt and therefore the perfect face of the Democrat party. Enough said.
On a lighter note, the first panel with Busty Ross and the words Flash News seems a bit like a cruel tease....
After the sotu last night, I didn't want to self-inflict sudden onset stomach convulsions, so I switched away from the dim response. I went to cspan and the call in show. I was heartened at the number of democrats calling to say they had seen and heard enough and wouldn't be voting dimmo again. The election will tell the tale, but I hope they have the strength of their current convictions. Four more years!
ReplyDeleteSo, when the pres is vindicated today, will nanzi really resign? She promised!
What a wonderful SOTU! After all the painful dog and pony shows that we've been forced to endure over the years, this was like your cellar-dwelling home team catching fire and winning the World Series with a walk-off homer in game 7 (think Bill Mazeroski in 1960). It would have been an unmitigated joy, but for Monday's news of Rush's cancer. The Medal of Freedom award brought tears to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteGod bless Rush Limbaugh and God bless President Trump.
And mega, giga and terabyte prayers for for both of them.
My cousin's husband was in Stage 4 lung cancer and facing another round of chemotherapy. With literally nothing left to lose, he went into a trial treatment at M.D. Anderson in Houston. Using immunotherapy, he got better so fast they were stunned. He's now been cancer free since 2015.
ReplyDeleteIf Rush can get that kind of treatment, I have high hopes for him.
Fraud or Incompetence: Those really are your only two choices. Can't wait until they're running my health care.
ReplyDeleteSchiff's untreated syphilis: You are giving him too much credit. How could he ever get syphilis?
Coronavirus: Probably too late. Oh, and Mrs. Econ is on a business trip and called last night and told me that she's coming down with a cold. Ruh oh...
Rush's Cancer: I was as shocked as anybody. I'm afraid those cigars may have caught up with him. I am glad that he has found faith to help him through this. I don't know how people survive these things without it.
State of the Union: Classy, Nancy, ripping up a Constitutionally-required document like that. Just another in-kind donation to the Trump re-election campaign. I'd say start an investigation, but we all know what a waste of time those are, especially when Democrats are the subject.
@MAJ Arkey: Thank you for that good news. MDA/Houston is very good and can work near miracles but considering the cases they accept; they can't preserve them all for long time. So yours is a real good story.
ReplyDeleteI just lost a long-time best friend & dive buddy who was under treatment at MDA but I know they kept him going mostly at home & fully functional while fighting it for very long time.
We also know indirectly with no technical details a local lady here who supposedly had maximum five years to live... and that was five years ago. Now she's still doing pretty well; and condition is stable. I don't know the therapies used.
Protocols are revised often as the science is developed. I'm sure that wherever and by whomever; Rush will receive the best protocols available. He's also a tough fellow; and an educated & cooperative patient; that means a lot.
For any of us especially in the older age group; this is just notice they may now be playing in the 4th quarter. A change of game plan is in order. That can be OK; ask the K.C.Chiefs about that.
I notice Nancy would not even look in Limbaugh's direction, nor would she stand. She did permit herself a faint smile about his cancer diagnosis so she found something to be pleased with. And with all that Botox, little of her face could move.
ReplyDeleteJust in, Romney has said he'll vote to convict. Any bets on his future party affiliation?
ReplyDeletePlease accept my apologies for my previous crude comment. While the sentiment remains, I should have expressed my feelings more politely.
ReplyDeleteRush Limbaugh adopted a talk, political commentary, and listener phone-in format to his show when he started in 1984 at KFBK-AM in Sacramento, California. That was about the time we moved into this area. I listened to him daily commuting to work.
ReplyDeleteTom Sullivan worked as the financial editor at same station with Rush and would often fill-in for him. Tom Sullivan left Sacramento to host a show on the Fox Business Network.
I hope that Rush continues on air for many more years. But, I do wonder who the heir apparent would be. I would recommend Tom Sullivan for the job. Here’s Tom’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TomSullivanShow
This is just a real-time commentary: The Senate was said to have been convened to VOTE but for quite some time now Chuck Schumer is STILL being allowed to go on about all this bullshit. Somewhere I read the cost to date for all this has been ~$40 Million to accomplish nothing on Impeachment and not much else in the meantime; (but maybe?) that's good. QUESTION: How long is this farce going to be allowed to run? STFU Chuck & let's see the vote.
ReplyDeleteJust now Thank you... he just did. McConnell gets some time now; then maybe they'll vote in about 6 minutes
@Gene Varner- There's nothing I can say about Pelosi at the moment which would be anything than a long, long string of four letter words. I don't hate many people, especially over politics. But I hate her.
ReplyDelete@SpectreRider- I'm hoping that the President chose that moment to honor Rush in order to take advantage of the assembled body and presumably large audience. And Nancy, at this point, is simply vile.
@j- You express yourself marvelously and accurately.
@Jim Irre- I expect to see her tearing up that speech again and again in campaign commercials.
@Unknown- There is no one currently running on the Democrat side that is even worth considering. Idiots and scoundrels all.
@Anonymous- My thought exactly!
@NaCly Dog- The surprise presentation of the Medal of Freedom to Rush was exactly what I needed to help lift me out of my sense of despair.
@Bobo the Hobo- I, too, enjoy the absence of pretend civilities at this point. Let's roll!
@Anonymous- Rush does deserve that award, although I'm sure many on the Left are baffled and appalled because they've only heard lies about El Rushbo. He is a personal hero of mine, and I'm sure that award means a lot to him. And I agree that Pelosi's childish display says a lot about her (lack of) character.
@Anonymous- I think so, too.
@WDS- I haven't visited the link yet, but I remember the great clip Rush showed of Bill Clinton leaving Ron Brown's funeral and laughing his ass off, then noticing a camera and quickly changing to a sad expression (and dabbing fake tears). Classic!
@M. Mitchell Marmel- Spot on comments.
@jpb252- Yes! Yes! That was Cruella de Ville, but it was too warm for her to wear her puppy fur coat!
@Judi King- I'm guessing that the cushion of Nancy's chair is now stained deep brown.
@Fish Out of Water- I'm sure Nancy planned the "tearing it up" moment before the speech ever started. And I'm sure she thinks it will fire up her constituency, but that she's underestimated how much it pisses the rest of us off.
@Rod- Oh, Trump should never stop beating this particular dead horse (or donkey). And I'm hopeful that Rush will be with us for awhile yet. Hey, I'm still watching Alex Trebek on Jeopardy!
@Geoff King- I would genuinely like to see her prosecuted for this crime. We wouldn't even need to call in any witnesses - just show the tape.
@Studebaker Hauk- You're right that what REALLY pisses Nancy off is that Trump is accomplishing things thought impossible, and empowering the American people - which is the opposite of what the Dems want.
And so it begins. Now I want to see President Trump release the Kraken. With a vengeance!
ReplyDelete@Stilton: Gary Varvel has Cruella Pelosi covered to a T: https://townhall.com/political-cartoons/2020/02/05/171399
ReplyDeleteNOW, CLEAR THE SWAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I add that hasn't been said?
ReplyDeleteIt was great seeing Rush receive the Medal of Freedom.
Also proves once again that President Trump doesn't drag his feet and gets things done right now!
BTW I noticed the Democrats brought the Ladies auxiliary of the KKK with them again.
As far as Schiff goes, whatever the hell he's got can now be called Schiffolis.
(unfortunately I didn't come up with that but heard Mark Steyn use it today:)
Some people who watched the SOTU last night wonder if giving the Medal of Freedom to Rush Limbaugh was warranted of just part of the show.
ReplyDeleteI'm no doctor, but I'm as old as Mr. Limbaugh, and I have learned from my interactions with other people my age that a diagnosis of Stage Four anything is far from good news. What none of us know, what really is none of our business, is how deep into his particular Stage Four Mr. Limbaugh finds himself. I was glad to see Mrs. Trump present him with his award last night. I hope the Good Lord will allow him many years to enjoy it.
A well earned award, recognition and respect for an amazing man who has given so much to the American people. Praying for strength for him and a miracle to give him more time with us.
ReplyDeleteAnd to Ms.Pelosi, shame on you, SHAME ON YOU, for your pettiness and obvious hatred. To begrudge and disrespect ANYONE who is facing the biggest challenge of his life shows shows how small and warped you are.
As San Fran Nan just sits there shuffling papers about to explode...
ReplyDeleteGod bless ya Rush ..........And thank you ............
ReplyDelete@Samuel A. Price- I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea that there's some behavior that might be "beneath" Pelosi.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous- I watched on Youtube and that part of the SOTU was cut off, but I believe you.
@Fred Ciampi- I could die a happy man if I saw enough of these a-holes in the pokey. I don't think it will happen, but what a sweet, sweet thought.
@John D. Egbert- Watching the Dems sit stone-faced while America's greatness is being demonstrated shows what horrible, petty little creeps they are.
And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Pelosi wasn't Miss Lube Rack - although up until five minutes ago, I believed it to be true. Turns out Nancy was only 11 when that photo of another woman was taken. Presumably by Matthew Brady.
@Murphy(AZ)- Truthfully, when Trump talked about our getting tired of winning, I didn't really think that it would be winning coup attempts from the freaking Dems.
@Linda Fox- Very well put. Rush basically created conservative talk radio, as well as communicating conservative thought and principles better than anyone. He genuinely changed my life and, I'm sure, tens of millions of others. His has been a life well lived, though I'm hoping that he (and we) still have a lot of it ahead!
@rickn8or- Ooh, I don't remember Nancy saying she'd resign if there was an acquittal, but you can bet your buns that I'm going to be looking for that online!
@TrickyRicky- I echo your thoughts.
@Sortahwitte- I would HOPE that some Democrats are finally waking up. I don't really believe it, but still...
@Old Cannonballs- Amen to that.
@MAJ Arkay- Thanks for sharing that story! Rush is a fighter, and you know he's going to get the best possible care. I hope he can kick cancer's ass.
@John the Econ- All I can say about your bullet points is "nice grouping." (That's a compliment)
@Rod- Very well put, and I'm sorry about the loss of your friend.
@Doc J- Screw Nancy and the horse she rode in on.
@Fish Out of Water- I can't believe I once voted for that asshole. Then again, the other choice was Obama. Sigh...
@Bobo the Hobo- Damn, I wasn't being sarcastic - I really was praising how you expressed yourself! Really!
@Joseph ET- I don't know Tom Sullivan but will check him out. No one could ever truly replace Rush in the same way no one could replace Paul Harvey, but that doesn't mean that there can't be others with their own unique voices who will be worth hearing. Case in point, I'm a big Mark Steyn fan.
@Anonymous- Yes, this whole charade has been a complete waste of time and taxpayer dollars. Not that there's anything unusual about that...
@Fred Ciampi- Yes, yes! The Kraken please!
@M. Mitchell Marmel- Perfect!
@Fred Ciampi- I completely agree. It's time to roll up the sleeves.
@Valvenator- The moment with Rush was a real twofer: honoring a great American, and knowing that it burned the Dems like being splashed with holy water.
@Murphy(AZ)- Well put!
Gmamax5, I take comfort in the knowledge that one day, all her power and wealth won't buy her another breath.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Mrs. Pelosi has been upset ever since someone dropped a house on her party.
ReplyDeleteIn reality, they're not after DJT, they're after us. POTUS just happens to be in the way... The Constitution works. Trump is totally acquitted. We are safe ...for now.
ReplyDeleteBy her action Pelosi will always be known as a "tearerist".
ReplyDelete@Geoff King: Bravo! (Groan) Bravo!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I read, it is more likely to be HIV than syphilis.
ReplyDeleteIf Pelosi thought she was destroying the only original of the President's speech with his signature she was sadly mistaken. Kevin McCarthy had been with the President early in the day and had an original of the President's speech signed by the President which he will give to the House's archivist. Its as though they knew Pelosi would do something evil. Actually, as Kevin is the House minority leader, he probably gets a copy.
Yes, the Speaker only gets what is known as a "courtesy copy" and the one that counts never gets anywhere near her in case she spills her drinky on it.
ReplyDeleteOn Rush Limbaugh: What you said.
ReplyDeleteYour tribute to Rush Limbaugh is excellent. I would love to get a copy of it. Can you email it to me at jessiebuck16@gmail.net? I would be most appreciative.
ReplyDelete
