Joe Biden, looking even more washed-out and disoriented than usual, is now making political broadcasts from his home. The address of which is stitched onto every article of his clothing in case he gets out and wanders away.
Not that Old Bland Joe is out of touch with current events. In a recent appearance on "The View" (via remote video), Biden was asked if he was concerned that Trump said (of coronavirus and quarantines) "we cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself."
Biden's stupefying answer: "We have to take care of the cure. That will make the problem worse, no matter what." After which he was hit with a tranquilizer dart and the screen went black.
And of course, Bernie Sanders is still on the cyber-campaign trail, his mood lifted by the fact that with staggering unemployment, closed businesses, and emptied supermarkets, half of his job will already be finished if he's elected.
Plus, he's got a unique perspective on our nation's health crisis...
BONUS: KNIFE KNOWING YOU
Is there a typo in that blog title? Maybe it should be "Let's we forget..."
ReplyDeleteThere's a "Slow Joe to Chinavirus" joke in here somewhere. As for Bernie, perhaps he could visit the Donners for dinner...
ReplyDeleteButcher joke- SAVAGE LEVEL 10: Finish him!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou know- hating to get politically this time of morning but The MAIN thing I have noticed is this - WE the People have been HAPPY to give away our Constitutional rights, to allow the government- primarily state governors and local mayors - to dictate when, where and why we may travel. when and where and how many of us can assemble, what private businesses may be open, When we can gather at places of worship IF we are allowed to gather there at all. I understand the need for caution - but - Does anyone think that after the tyrants have a taste of this power, they will not lust for it even after the crisis is passed?
Ya jogged my memory so I went back and watched Dueling Banjos from Deliverance and realized how slow joe wasted his charm, personality, witticism, brilliance and talent since he did that part .....
ReplyDeleteRemember the left calling Reagan a doddering old fool? He wasn't, Joe is.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Joe's, "The fact of the matter is...," like nails on a chalkboard to me. "Here's the deal..." like needles in my eyes. Loved today's cartoon. SPOT ON!!!
ReplyDelete@j: I have the same fear as you. How much of the government's current absolute power will they relinquish, and how much of it will corrupt them?
ReplyDeleteAs this is global, what a great dress rehearsal this is for the NWO!
@j and @Geoff
ReplyDeleteAgree with both of your observations. History is littered with way too many records of governments that once having the power to rule and control the people's lives to the degree we see happening now refuse to let go of that level of control.
That is when the people either revolt and the government at that time is exchanged for another, or the people become nothing other than slaves of the government elite.
I am in no way saying that this health occurrence now is not of serious concern, however the amount of control that governments world wide are currently forcing upon their people is way out of proportion to the actual seriousness of COVID-19, and the worrisome part is that with very few exceptions the people are actually happy to not only give away, buy even ask to have taken away, freedoms that so many have suffered permanent injury or death to attain. Even my own (democrat) sister is angry and no longer speaking to me because I continue to go abut my business as normal. I cannot even see my closest neighbor, and I am alone on my property with only my four legged companions of various species. She insists that the "shelter in place" declaration must also apply to me. That is the kind of insanity that will be the ultimate death of the United States of America. IMO.
About, not abut. And with several thousand acres I see absolutely NO reason to stay in my modest home, staring out the windows. Just saying...
ReplyDelete@American Cowboy- Has your sister called 911 to report your wayward behavior?
ReplyDeletehttps://gazette.com/news/colorado-springs-callers-flood-dispatch-lines-to-report-those-not/article_5eeb3488-6f93-11ea-a88a-abfca6e256c2.html
@TrickyRicky- Not yet.(Big grin)
ReplyDeleteRemember all of the medical "professionals" who were regularly on TV and publishing books about Trump's supposed mental deficiencies that should disqualify him from the presidency? Where are they now that they're actually needed. Or were they all just left-wing hacks? You decide.
ReplyDeleteActually, they may not be needed. Andrew Cuomo, who has been selected by CNN will be the candidate in a brokered convention. His main qualification seems to be that he's lucid, and can ramble on endlessly in stream-of-consciousness mode just like Trump.
Bernie: We're half-way there to his "Green New Utopia". Just turn off your gas and lights, and you'll be there.
Speaking of: Did you remember to celebrate "Earth Hour" on Saturday? Me neither. There's nothing like a real existential crisis to make people forget about the phony ones.
"We have to take care of the cure. That will make the problem worse, no matter what."
ReplyDeleteTo quote Old Man from Pawn Stars... "Oh... My... GOD!" I'm sure Joe's statement made sense to him, but I can't even imagine what he was actually trying to say. What might be even scarier, if Joe actually gets the nomination, how many dumbasses would actually vote for him just out of hatred for Trump? 50 million? 60 million?
Consider my mind boggled. Yes, as Mr. Econ has pointed out, Cuomo may well be "The chosen one" when things get down to brass tacks at the DNC.
@American Cowboy,
Being from Wyoming originally, I know all about wide open spaces, and I'm betting you'd have to really try hard to break the "six foot" rule! North Carolina's supposed statewide lock down begins today at 5 PM. I'll bet my next paycheck I won't be able to tell the difference. Everybody and their dog has an "I'm an essential employee" letter in their car. Heck, my grandson is working at Wendy's, and he has a letter. He can't go to school, but hamburgers are essential, dammit!
@John the E:
ReplyDeleteEarth hour?

Now do one about the Democrats' Donner party politics
ReplyDeleteSeems to me like Cuomo both criticizes Trump; then asks for his help in nearly the same breath. Trump is a New Yorker as well; and is too "on the job" to just tell him to fuck off.
ReplyDeleteJ and Geoff King are correct about government taking power and control and not giving it back. This pandemic, induced and nurtured by the media and politicians, has shut down world economies. Maybe after two more pandemics people will be living from their backyard gardens and hunting game with slingshots, if the governments tell them it is OK. Don't know where people think the "free" government hand out is coming from. Welcome to the land of the "living brain dead."
ReplyDeleteFWIW: on Earth Day, my house was lit up like the main runway at LAX on a stormy night. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteAtta baby!
DeleteThings seem to be getting brighter. Your house was lit up, and it seems likely so were a lot of people at home or not. If some people want to remain in the dark to feel good about it; so be it. My issue for now is beginning to be boredom that comes with isolation. I've not yet fully switched over to just 100% doing my own thing. Miss my friends who are less in contact.
ReplyDeleteVery thankful the internet & TV, as crappy as it is. Turning off the chatter and New Age music seems again to help quiet things a bit and calm me down.
American Cowboy - Your sister reminds me of my SIL... WAY back in the day, about the time fax jokes began to be spread by email instead, I brought home a 'DHMO Warning' bulletin railing against the evils of DiHydrogenMonOxide - less than a Tb, aspirated can kill you, primary component of toxic waste, in its solid form, kills thousands (traffic accidents) every year.. Gave it to my science teacher (and libtard) brother, who was amused. SIL asked what he was looking at, he handed it over. "Is it TRUUUEEE?" she asked, when finished w/ it. "Every word" was his response. "Well, we have to DO Something!!" join a group, START a group, organize a march, SOME THING!!!"
ReplyDelete>Honey, it's WATER... Even he was a bit appalled she didn't 'get' it... Dumbest kids in my immediate family, theirs. Some of their cousins, even worse... Yeesh.
I read the story from Tricky Ricky's post. The news from right here in Colorado Springs is bad enough--people obviously extremely willing to give up their liberty to any government they can find--but I couldn't believe the posts from some people here with MAJOR SERIOUS cases of TDS. They must be some of the California invaders who flooded the state and this city starting in the early '90s. They're the ones who stuck us with this *#@$&! Demo_Rat governor and legislature we've got to put up with now.
ReplyDeleteI have been told that I have several cousins in Arizona, Ohio, and even Texas who are all Demo_Rats. I don't know what happened to them all. Maybe they were all dropped on their heads as infants.
I read that Biden had a brain tumor. That can be a terrible thing, especially when they replace the empty space from the removed tumor with the excess tissue from hemorrhoids.
ReplyDelete@ J, Geoff, Am.Cowboy, & Dave: Agreed! We're in deep trouble.
ReplyDeleteAbout the scare tactics, continued criticizing but very little leadership from the left; and please keep in mind this administration probably has to overplay it bit BECAUSE they have been subjected to non-stop criticism of their proper authority. What if some youths (and others) had done what they were first told about taking reasonable precautions? They're all wireless-connected together anyway; a brief period of separation wouldn't kill 'em.
ReplyDeleteNow I think when COVID19 wave passes, something quite attention-getting & demonstrative will be necessary to reset things. Let me think: Hey! There's an election in early November.

ReplyDelete@Readers- Somehow, ever since this multi-tiered crisis started, I just don't seem to find enough hours in the day to get everything done. So I've READ all your great comments but can't really respond individually just now. Except to tell DougM that I'll definitely be stealing that "Donner party politics" line!
