If At First You Don't Concede
Hillary Clinton recently gave us a preview of coming distractions when she counseled Joe Biden to not concede the election "under any circumstances," even if he gets his ass handed to him by the voters ("Hey look," Joe would say, "It's my elbow!").
In other words, Hillary has dropped any pretense that she believes (or has ever believed) that our nation's leadership should be determined by voters. She's openly advocating a different system in which political machinations, power, money, and corrupt courts replace the expressed wishes of America's pesky peasant class. That system is called "tyranny," and dressing it up in a purple pantsuit doesn't make it any prettier.
And as long as we're hating on Hillary (and trust us, we are), here's a favorite cartoon from the vault...
And after hearing Leftists again attack Melania Trump following her stirring and eloquent convention speech, this cartoon from the vault seems relevant again...
"Presidents day at IHOP" still cracks me up. A gem among gems.
ReplyDeleteAn impressive tenor (not Pavarotti) sang Nessun dorma live at the end of Trump's speech and subsequent fireworks show that capped the RNC tonight.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know the name of the performer?
P.S. I love the thrice-repeated powerful phrase at the end of the aria: Vincerò! (I will win!) Especially in this context!
Christopher Macchio.
ReplyDelete@Pat Cummings I believe your guy is Christopher Macchio. Found it referred to on Twitter.

ReplyDeleteOne helluva show, that. :)
Am assuming the second panel in the first cartoon refers to what the vile, has been harridan and most unqualified, most unworthy and most unfit POTUS candidate since Henry Wallace did when the people of this country turned their backs on her. Perhaps she had had more than a few before.
ReplyDeleteWife unit told me only our local Fox carried Trump's speech.
Another reason why if one or someone one knows still waivers as to their choices in November, this should be remembered.
Go ahead Joe, don't concede! And while Trump is being inaugurated you can be babbling incoherently to your lawyers about how it's your turn!
ReplyDeleteFrom the IHOP panel to M. Mitchell Marmel’s prose and right on through many others, today’s post is one for the records; truly an award-winning post!🥇
ReplyDeleteThis election is going to be one for the books. We have heard countless times about how “vital this election is” but truth to tell, this election is for the soul of our country. Even that political giant, Meghan Markle, has discussed her worry concerning voter suppression with Georgia’s secret governor, Stacey Abrams (https://thegrio.com/2020/08/27/markle-voter-suppression-steinem/)
I see where Kamala Harris’s Placeholder Joe Biden confused Jacob Blake with Kyle Rittenhouse (https://freebeacon.com/democrats/biden-confuses-jacob-blake-with-white-teen-charged-with-murder/) I pray Nancy Pelosi does not get her wish and the debates go on as scheduled, with both parties in person, thank you very much as I doubt any Conservative would need Viagra after that (I know, “Crude yet tasteless”.)
Yup, today’s column is a top-ten winner. Kudos all around, Stilt!
Why should Biden concede? HRC never did.
ReplyDeleteHillary, never a raving beauty, is looking even more haggard than usual. The disease in her soul is spreading.
ReplyDeleteOf course don't concede; they just need some time to find more mail-in votes. We may need a lightning strike to fix that old harpy. How she stays "relevant" is a mystery. A simple piss on her grave will not suffice; we'll need a big beer party and save up rotten, stinking, noxious five-gallon buckets of it; with good lids.
ReplyDeleteDespite numerous testimonials by ordinary people telling their stories about what Trump did for them, the celebrities are still out whining he's only in it for himself. Are they deaf or just dumb?
ReplyDeleteI know a very sharp woman, Phd in Geology and Geophysics, not just credentialed but very competent and in demand as a consultant in the oil and gas exploration world. For some reason she adores Hillary. I can't really understand it. I suppose to some women, the idea that Hillary has indoor plumbing trumps all of her vile, authoritarian and evil actions and intentions. Strange.
ReplyDelete@Fish Out of Water: That's why we watched CSPAN. No commercials, no "analysis;" just the facts from 7:30 (Central) to the last note of America the Beautiful. A well-spent evening in Clarksville, TN, to be sure . . .
ReplyDelete@ M. Mitchell Marmel
ReplyDeleteI always did like Marty Robbins music.
@Cowboy: And this is one of the best updatings I've ever heard! ^.^
ReplyDelete@Section147, @Joseph ET, @M. Mitchell Marmel: Thanks! I knew someone at Stilton's Place would have my answer. Although I had to ask because I don't do Facebook...
ReplyDelete@John D. Egbert: I mixed it up: Newsmax Live for Day 1, PBS Live for Day 2, CSPAN Live for Day 3, and FOX News Live for the finale. Sadly, Newsmax insisted on adding panel commentary over the top of "minor" speakers for Day 1. (I watched it again in the YouTube CSPAN video.) I worried Fox would do the same thing; in the end, I switched back to CSPAN for the President's speech, so I heard/saw the whole thing. My spouse was upstairs watching the rest of Fox's live stream, and said they cut off after the first few strains of Nessun dorma. Heaven forfend they should broadcast America the Beautiful!
M. Mitchell Marmel Ghost Riders in the Sky? Nice work.
ReplyDeleteRe Last night's attempted assault on Senator Rand Paul. This was planned and I am continually amazed why there is no thought or investigation as to who planned this.
ReplyDeleteSecond, imagine the breast beating and outrage furor had this attack target had been Schumer or any other democratic Member of Congress?
As explanation Nessun dorma sung at the final night translates as "Let no one sleep" in English and it finishes with the words (translated here to English):
ReplyDeleteVanish, o night!
Fade, you stars!
Fade, you stars!
At dawn, I will win!
I will win! I will win!
Comes from Puccini's opera Turandot, which is based on a Iranian (Persian) story translated for France by a Frenchman (François Pétis de la Croix) with the scene of action set in China.
The actual Opera ends (again translated into English) with everyone singing:
Love!
O Sun! Life! Eternity!
Love is the light of the world!
Our infinite happiness
laughs and sings in the Sun!
Glory to you! Glory to you!
All coincidences? That is the Q
"Presidents day at IHOP" is one of my few all time favorites from all cartoonists. It sums up so much. Glad you shared it again with new readers.
ReplyDelete@Harley: Can't take credit for the tune, but it's a parody of "Big Iron" by Marty Robbins. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a 49 state blow-out ala Reagan 1984.
ReplyDelete.
Let's all sing, "Wouldn't it be nice"
.
NSF
ReplyDeleteI also hope for a real landslide win by President Trump in November. LANDSLIDE like LBJ in '64, Nixon in '72, Reagan in '84. Those were absolutely uncontestable. Even Hitlary would have to concede after a Trump win like those. We KNOW the Demo_Rats will do their absolute best to cheat and steal the election; that's why they so desperately want mail-in voting: it is so much easier to cheat that way. I wonder how many cars are already driving around with 700 or 800 ballots in their trunks, with all votes cast for Gropey Joe. The statistical impossibility of that simply doesn't concern the Demo_Rats in the slightest. They've done it so many times already anyway.
@Readers- I'm loving the comments, even if I haven't piped in!
