Going Down?

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, pa, elephant, elevator, donnel

I mostly chose this cartoon of my father's as a fun space-filler since I again didn't have time to do a real post today. But perhaps unsurprisingly (he was my father, after all) I find that the cartoon nicely represents the headspace I'm currently in...

(Ding!) The elevator doors open and people are having screaming arguments about Covid-19.

(Ding!) Joe Biden is making a pilgrimage to a vile sexual predator because he's black and has been granted sainthood by the mass media.

(Ding!) Donald Trump suggests that all of his supporters vote twice.

(Ding!) Nancy Pelosi claims entrapment after she's caught getting her hair done in an illegal environment.

(Ding!) Burning buildings, riots in the streets, yada yada yada.

(Ding!) Oh, boy! A stock market "bloodbath!"

...and on and on and on. Seemingly limitless floors, each with a new annoyance (or worse). Which is why I'm currently standing on the sidelines, taking a look at what those metaphorical elevator doors open to reveal, then watching the doors slide shut again while thinking "maybe I'll take the next one."

In the meanwhile, here's hoping that everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend!

Or ever, apparently.

How many laps does this make, Stilt??

  3. Shown on the right is a seldom-seen picture of Darth Vader’s wife, Ella ... Ella Vader.

  4. Not being critical at all; just thinking maybe there will better news next Monday. Maybe a small meteorite will hit _________________. (Fill in the blank as you wish). We already know it will be Trump's fault.

  5. @MMM- Do you really think a lot of people are on the (political) fence these days?

  6. How apropos that you used an elevator theme this week, Stilt. My wife was stuck (alone) in one on her way home from work the other day and it took over an hour and a half for the tech to arrive and get the damned thing working.

With the sh!t show the Communists have been putting on over the last few months, with the tacit approval of Slow Joe and The Hoe, November could be such a huge landslide on election day that the National Socialist Workers' Party would have to cut down every f@cking tree west of the Rockies in order to print up enough fraudulent mail-in ballots to overcome Trump's lead.

As they say in Shitcago: "Vote Early, Vote Often!"

  7. My recent feelings have been summed up better by an old Gahan Wilson cartoon from Playboy, where the elevator doors open and there are large blood-dripping teeth along the edges of the floor and ceiling. I think I'll wait for the next one, thank you. I probably have enough Clan MacGregor here to hold me over until then.

  8. I ordinarily dislike holidays, but in this case, Labor Day gets a "pass." I'll spend the extra time in my reloading room. The extra ammo will come in handy in case BLM decides to burn down our house.

What concerns me even more is the manipulation of our voting laws by the Commiecrats in November. I anticipate their getting out the vote by bribing winos and the homeless, plus undue influencing (lying) to the home-boundand nursing home patients, plus trashing harvested votes by Republicans, and just plain fraud---all designed to overthrow a Trump victory on November 3.

I've never seen anything like what is going on. Maybe I'll write a letter to the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN and NPR.

  9. @Bobo: Any kin to Bill Lear's daughter, Shanda?

    @Ricky: Not politically, no.

@B.C.: Biden was on an escalator a week or so back when the power went out. He was stuck for three hours.

@Alfonso: Sound and statesmanlike practice. I suggest stocking up on hemp rope as well.

  10. @Readers- I'm enjoying the comments! And just to repeat, I'm doing fine and things are going okay here...I'm just busy, busy, busy with household chores so don't get to spend as much time here as I'd like!
