Slope-a-Dope

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, biden, ramp, trump, election

The competition between presidential candidates is really ramping up and, sadly, we mean that absolutely literally.  Because Joe Biden is actually telling voters: "Watch how I run up ramps and (Trump) stumbles down ramps, okay?"

At first glance, this wouldn't really seem to be a crucial factor in selecting a president. But maybe it should be important to voters. After all, based on both his history and his campaign rhetoric, a Biden administration would (ahem) "ramp up" debt, the deficit, racial tensions, unemployment, over-regulation, taxes, illegal immigration, and - oh yeah - trillions of dollars blown on "New Green Deal" sops to the lunatic Left.

Yes, he'll run up all of those things. Unless he should have a health crisis, Heaven forbid, and be forced to use only wheelchair ramps. At which point others in the far Left fringe will continue to push him...and policy.

  1. Just learned today that Joe has not disclosed any medical records since 2008, when he ran for vice president. I'd rather see those than Joe walking down a ramp.

  3. The only ramp I want to see him on is the one leading into the E-Ward with him on a gurney...

  4. Perhaps that's the master plan; sleepy Joe wins, CamelToe is Veep, Joe has a mental breakdown, CamelToe is POTUS and appoints NanNan as Veep, Civil War II ramps up......... I had better stock up on 'shine.

  5. I used to feel sorry for the obviously dementia-ridden old man. No longer. He is a crooked, compromised grifter in a family full of grifters. He has been sucking off the public teat for his entire adult life, and enabling his larcenous brother and son in amassing their massive ill-gotten gains. He has been on the wrong side of every policy and made the wrong decisions throughout his pathetic career. Plus he's a perv. There is nothing at all sympathetic about this jerk. The sooner he is out of the public domain, the better. Go hang out with John McCain. Sorry, I know that's not a very Christian outlook. I'll ask for forgiveness later tonight.

  6. @Tricky above: Good summary.

Looking at the bigger picture since Joe is just a tool now; I think we ALL better start thinking more about:

#1 Where we get our so-called news; and especially what we are told in election years

#2 History; including the worst history but it happened. & Records of big talkers & lairs.

#3 Our values, character moral & spiritual guidance, and how to realistically prepare. But don't be a fool for good manners concealing bad character or ignorance.

#4 Wise avoidance or escape if necessary; to avoid confrontation & impossible situations.

#5 Prepare for effective determent or defense if confronted or attacked on what is supposed to be safe space; ESPECIALLY on our property, in our homes, with our families.

#6 Worse case: Prepare meet force violence with the winning, conflict-ending action; but that cycles back to #3, and then possibly police, prosecutors, media character attacks, attorneys, added risk and large costs. Life may not be the same; and neither will we.

I've always been prepared and skilled but also known I would not shoot some dumb kid for trying to steal something from me. Well maybe in the ass or thigh with target loads if he really deserved it... but not with the magnum double bucks, or other. But an armed intruder in the night, or this BLM-type mob insurrection and deliberately uncontrolled rioting is different & dangerous. It's dangerous for us, for all of us, and for our communities and nation. But one has to think this stuff through better than I assume most of us have done

How real is it? Be aware that media brings this stuff into our PC, TV & radio from everywhere and anywhere and a lot of it is a Production. They don't show the clean-up. Do we have resolve, laws & enforcement to stop this crap? I used to think so; but maybe not now. Can that be fixed? In some nations in history it was not. Here I think it can be.

So if it's not in our own yards or home, business or or community; then What is the best thing to do? Probably caution, preparedness, & avoidance... but still DO SOMETHING; like communication of expectations and the ballot box. More deterrent & organization too.

The very worst case IMO would be if that stuff on TV really does come to our home because I'm concerned about what I do. They should be too. It may not end well for anyone.

  7. This is exactly what happened in 2016: Democrats just don't get it.

In 2016, there were absolutely no smears that could be made against Trump that did not more than equally apply to the Clintons. Misogyny? Got it. Making stuff up? Can't beat the Clintons on that. Corruption? You kidding me?

Likewise, in 2020 there are few arguments they can make against Trump that cannot be directly leveled at Biden. My Progressive friends regularly post regarding alleged corruption of Trump and his cronies, but totally ignore the transparent and well-documented corruption of Biden. Seriously, has everyone already forgotten that a mere 9 months ago the Democrats attempted to impeach Trump for something their Presidential candidate actually did? Or is the real lasting symptom of the Wuhan Flu amnesia along with a lack of taste or smell?

And of course there's the elephant in the room: Years ago we had a parade of "mental health professionals" ready to be interviewed or to sell books on Trump's mental acuity. Where are they today? Or is it that it's best not not even touch the topic of Biden's sharpness?

The biggest difference between Trump and Biden is that Trump has no filter and shoots from the hip. If recent performances are any indication, Biden can't even manage reading from his teleprompter anymore. And when stuff does get past his filter of diminishing capability, it's usually contradictory, racist, or just plain nuts.

Another observation: Around my part of town, Trump signs have been out for months. Recently, I have seen signs for state office Democrats start to pop up, but I have yet to see a single Biden-Harris sign. Not a good sign for Biden-Harris; even the true-blue Democrats aren't willing to be associated with them.

  9. John the Econ: In my county, the Trump/Pence signs are springing up like wildflowers. Not a single Biden/Harris sign to be seen, and so far only one Democrat running against our incumbent congressman, but since she ran against Senator Cornyn last time and lost in a landslide, her chances here are equally as slim.

We're prepared, but the likelihood of BLM/Antifa even traveling here are slim; they're not real interested in the powerful negative reaction to their presence, which is why they stay in the Democrat-controlled big cities. Even the big city folk who have moved here are not buying into the Democrats' Marxist/Socialist/Totalitarian message.

  10. I just finished a trip to Northern Minnesota. I noticed that on the highway from I-94 north to the Lake Of The Woods area there was exactly ONE biden/harass election sign. The rest were all Trump/Pence 2020 signs ranging in size from smaller 1 or 2 foot signs up to an entire billboard sign. There were very few places that did not have any signs at all.

It made the needed trip to the over crowded flat-lands a little more tolerable.

  12. Smaller city in mid west but highly light industrial and commercial: The only few folks I know who will support Democrat ticket this year are all about manners & personality; and seem to believe the liberal lies. They are nearly blind to liberal faults. Therefore they are are fully against Trump. But they don't seem to know much about him; they get their news from major media, associates & coffee chats; and they admit most frienda do not see it as they do.

There are not a lot of signs, bumpers stickers etc. out yet; but what I see now is probably 5 or more to 1 in favor of Trump/Pence over Biden/Harris; but that will be different in the major urban cites. Sad to say I think voting fraud and the courts will greatly delay if not decide this election. Trump probably needs a big turnout and he may get it.

  15. As heartening as the comments about the dearth if Bidrn signs, depending on one's state, it may be for naught.

As I posted a few days ago, in the 2016 election, I traveled through my state, the Commonwealth of Virginia, from the southwest corner to one of the prog duchies in northern Virginia. And at that time also saw few signs for the vile, unfit, unworthy and unqualified POTUS candidate since Henry Wallace (and two time loser too), yet this disgusting person carried the state.

  16. @MAJ Arkay, like you I'm fortunate to live in a community where I have little fear of such mayhem. These people causing the chaos are cowards who only run amok in jurisdictions where they are confident that local authorities and the local populace will do little to nothing to stop them.

Back in June in the middle of the George Floyd unrest, as a university down we had the predictable assemblages of demonstrators on the courthouse lawn. They were peaceful. In the midst of that, an unknown group from out of state announced that they were coming to organize their own demonstration. (Why other than to cause trouble nobody can say) Upon hearing that news, our local open-carry fanatics made themselves known and that absolutely no chaos like that taking place in Minneapolis, Portland and elsewhere would be tolerated here. They actually joined the ongoing Floyd protest. Nothing untoward happened. The mysterious outside group thought better of coming and cancelled their plans. The last thing these agitators wanted to do was risk their own lives for their cause. They're only willing to go places where their antics will go unchallenged.

The anti-gun Progressives in my town will never know the debt of gratitude they owe our armed citizens for keeping our community safe and peaceful.

  17. @Mike aka Proof- I agree. Let's see the medical records!

@M. Mitchell Marmel- I think Chevy Chase is old enough now that he'd break bones doing pratfalls.

@Rednad Kcin- Why on a cow? Oh wait, that's a guernsey.

@Fred Ciampi- It's my genuine fear that IS the plan.

    @TrickyRicky- Spot on!

@Anonymous- Great points and very well stated!

  18. @John the Econ- Good observations all!

@Fish Out of Water- I can't quite believe that Trump is a nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize (even though his accomplishments deserve it - especially compared to Obama). I wonder if he's only been nominated so that he can lose to someone who will denounce him?

@MAJ Arkay- I've seen a few Biden signs in my neighborhood, but they're outnumbered by Trump signs. And I'm not very concerned about BLM/Antifa coming to my neck of the woods to raise hell. According to insider information from a friendly police officer, our area is "highly armed."

@American Cowboy- The Left ignores flyover country at their own peril. Not that they'd want to mingle with the great unwashed.

    @Fritzchen- I agree!

@Rod- My liberal friends are clearly and wildly misinformed about everything of importance. They hate Trump passionately, but they can't really say why except in very general terms ("He's a racist!" "He's a rapist!" "He cages babies!" "He's a Russian spy!")

@Average Joe Bro- Never discount the possibility that there is a stupid majority out there.

@Old Cannonballs- Jefferson was always good with catchy quotes.

@Fish Out of Water- I'm not putting too much weight in counting yard signs. A lot of people just don't want any friction so keep their political views to themselves. Another reason why I don't trust polls.

@John the Econ- A good and telling story.

  20. It's been known and agreed pretty much all year that Gropey Joe, if he manages to "win" the election, won't actually be president. The powers-that-be have decided they want Kamalatoe to be "president", that's why she was selected. There's no way in the world she will actually be president, either. She will say and do what the eastern liberal establishment-both Demo_Rat and RINO-tells her to say and do and nothing else. I do have to wonder what the payoff is expected to be for Gropey Joe's wife, since she won't enjoy the perks of FLOTUS for any length of time.

  21. @ Stilton: I'll concede that point, but not very far. As exhibit A go back and look at the states that went for the vile, unfit, unworthy and unqualified POTUS candidate since Henry Wallace (and two time loser too), such as my state, you'll see a sea of red surrounding pockets of blue and yet it was those pockets of blue which made the difference for the vile, unfit, unworthy and unqualified POTUS candidate since Henry Wallace (and two time loser too).

This is a problem many see unaware of and in my mind could lead within a couple of election cycles to a permanent one-party state.

  23. Biden is, to quote Douglas Adams, mostly harmless. It's what comes attached to him that scares the patootey out of me.

A funny.... a guy at work is wearing a mask that says, "I'm only wearing this so I can live until November 3." The funniest part is, "until November 3" is in a much smaller font.

Curbing my optimism here, but I've not seen even ONE Biden sign or bumper sticker. But I live in Western NC, not exactly a bastion of liberalism. I'd give my left nut (no, make that BOTH nuts) to see an electoral map that rivals Reagan's second win. We need President Trump to win by such a huge margin, it will silence the moonbats.

What am I saying?! Nothing will silence them; they would just claim he cheated.

  24. In T's NEXT term let's wall off both Mexico AND California. Close those borders; eject CA as a state; and export them no water, electricity, fuel, food or fire fighting water-tanker aircraft. Maybe even pray for a major earthquake especially when Pelosi is at home. They can always apply to emigrate to some other Hell-hole. None of this will impact their suntans or the Oscars so they'll be OK.
