Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation hearings are going fine so far, assuming you consider it "fine" for a brilliant legal mind and outstanding human being to have to sit silently while a panel of politically motivated morons yap endlessly about why they think she's of low character.
In terms of actual legal knowledge, the Dems haven't been able to lay a glove on her. Nor have they been able to get her to respond to their baited questions about how she would decide imaginary cases in the future. So instead, the Democratic senators simply use their time making speeches about the millions who will die (from losing Obamacare) if Judge Barrett is sworn in, and the millions who won't die (from abortion) if she rules on Roe vs. Wade. Making us wonder why they can't make up their freaking minds about whether they're pro-death or anti-death.
The Dems are also using visual aids like poster-sized pictures of children with serious illnesses so that the great unwashed can see that the mother of seven (including two adoptees and a special needs child) has no empathy, despises children, and is quite likely hiding her investments in a company which sells child-sized coffins.
And no, we're not going to make a joke about RBG also having a child-sized coffin because it would be an appalling lapse of taste.
But not as bad as that of Democrat senator Mazie Hirono from Hawaii, who asked Barrett (in front of her children), "Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors, or committed any physical or verbal harassment or assault of a sexual nature" and "have you ever faced discipline or entered in a settlement related to this kind of conduct?"
Barrett answered "no."
The answer to Hirono's final question, "have you ever blown Willie Brown?" was drowned out by an explosive spit take and coughing fit by committee member Kamala Harris.

Sadly, Amy Coney Barrett will actually feel dumber for this exercise in stupidity and being subjected to the complete ignorance of this group, who's combined IQ does not match hers!
ReplyDeleteShe is a great Candidate for the Supreme Court, better than most who are already serving!
I only recall seeing a few of them, Spartacus, Aloha Maisie, and some chick who is allegedly running for vice president.
ReplyDeleteWhat a waste.
I saw someplace that only a mother with seven kids could put up with that many stupid questions. Amen.
God bless her; and may God have mercy on the senators' souls.
"Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors, or committed any physical or verbal harassment or assault of a sexual nature" and "have you ever faced discipline or entered in a settlement related to this kind of conduct?"
ReplyDeleteMy answer would have been "No. Have you?"
Are the Congress approval ratings still only in the teens or have they gone negative by now? By the way, I heard that RBG just requested an absentee ballot......
ReplyDelete"RBG just requested an absentee ballot......"
ReplyDeleteSeveral actually .......she will be voting in all 57 states, P R, The Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa .........
Mazie Hirono- Japan's revenge for the loss suffered in WWII.
ReplyDelete@REM1875: Couldn't agree more. And that she continues to have a seat in the Senate speak accurately of the Hawaii voter profile?
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of the democrats and this election- Wish I could also post the 'before and after' photos that are in my FB post.
ReplyDeleteAn example of "tolerance" and "respect " for freedom of thought in my neighborhood. A few days ago, posted a photo of a Trump for President banner erected in the general area of my neighborhood.
The photo on the right shows what this sign looks like now, vandalized by someone or someones, so insecure on their beliefs, that they had to destroy another person's right to express publicly, their own opinions.
Somehow the 'progressive' mantra of 'hate doesn't live here', inclusivity, coexistence, diversity rings very, very, very hollow, even farcical.
"You've done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?" -Joseph Welch, 1954
ReplyDeleteThe answer, alas, seems to be no.
Dan, I am a mother of 7 children and even I would have snapped at the narcissistic and ignorant questions they posed to ACB. Her poise, grace and brilliance were simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteI can always count on you not to post a joke that "would be an appalling lapse of taste", that's why I've been coming here for years. ;)
ReplyDeleteI am SOOOOO glad I had already swallowed my coffee by the time I got to the Willie Brown reference, since my keyboard is NOT covered with a liquid-proof condom. If we had any true journalists in this country the questions would be posed to Joe Biteme and Kameltoe Whoreis, but we know that will never happen because voters are NOT allowed to hear the truth about democraps until AFTER their evil has become part of America's "normal".
ReplyDelete@Fish-I've found that, for the most part, the Hate Doesn't Live Here mantra isn't quite accurate. It's more like hate RULES here like Sauron ruled Mordor.

Great pic! A concise summary of the day's occurrence.
ReplyDeleteI was greatly impressed by the MOST HONORABLE Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Her restraint, poise, and intelligence were nothing less than amazing! Her mantra, having to sit there and endure that partisan grilling must have been something akin to a quote attributed to Mark Twain: "Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."
ReplyDelete@Fish Out of Water and @REM1875:
ReplyDeleteWhen I was stationed at Schofield Barracks in the late '80s and early '90s, one of the NCOs at Division Headquarters referred to Hawaii as a third world country that just happened to be a state.
Also, we had a civil servant who retained her (former) husband's Japanese surname upon her divorce since it would help with her US Civil Service career.
Interesting place.
There are those who would say Puerto Rico and DC would be 3rd world states, too.
DeleteJust saying - for a friend, of course.
It occurred to me the dim-bulbs are advocating and lobbying Judge Barrett with their photos and stories of sorrow and pain to rule in their favor in the upcoming ACA court case. Why is this allowed to happen? Seems they are tampering with the court to influence a decision. How is that appropriate?
ReplyDeleteIn other questioning, why not employ the “asked and answered” objection so the same question will not be asked, maybe a little bit differently, for a nearly same answer from the Judge? A referee, such as the Chief Justice, could serve as this person. Does the Judge have no rights from simply be harassed over an issue already asked AND answered? Are their no rules in these hearings?
I watched as much of the hearings as I could stand. Judge Amy was everything that the dims were not. Among other attributes, she was patriotic, truthful, and polite. Those things were not found on the left side of the aisle. In fact, the commies reminded me of the monkeys at the zoo with their screeching and poo flinging. This country will never again be united. Can we split peacefully or will it take fratricide? Stand by. Keep 'em clean and oiled.
ReplyDelete@Dan: "...someplace that only a mother with seven kids could put up with that many stupid questions. Amen." Deserves to be repeated.
ReplyDelete@Teresa: Another mother of 7 can more thoroughly understand ACB's forbearance, which we guys can dimly perceive...
The lefty Pope will never do it, so I'll nominate Judge Coney Barrett for sainthood. I especially loved it when she used Ruth Bader Ginsberg's words against DiFi.
ReplyDeleteProbably knowing that she is a likely shoo-in gives her a certain small boost of strength, but to set there for hours on end absorbing that childish BS is something I could never do. Do the libtards actually think they are accomplishing anything constructive? Never mind... rhetorical question.
Here's hoping McConnell puts a swift end to this kangaroo court.
No doubt you can say this is going "fine" considering the s***show the Democrats put on last time. In fact, this time around seems downright sedate compared the the Kavanaugh circus with witnesses full of unsubstantiated "recovered" memories and tales of rape gangs gleefully promulgated by sleazy (and criminal) ambulance chasers given limitless airtime on cable TV. The fact of the matter is that the Democrats know they overplayed their hand with Kavanaugh, and deploying similar tactics against a woman who by any objective standard appears to be a saint would be suicidal. The stupid narrative about her adoption of non-white children was quickly tamped down.
ReplyDeleteMazie Hirono. Enough said.
A little off topic but worth noting anyway that Pelosi accidentally told the truth on CNN. Being interviewed by Wolf Blitzer, who also accidentally committed actual journalism by putting her on the spot on why she was holding up the stimulus checks. She was so flustered that one of the cable news talking heads totally in her pocket was asking this, she said because she didn't want to give Trump a win. So all those viewers of CNN actually heard the truth for a change and know who to blame for keeping help from them.
ReplyDelete@Dan: Scholfield Barracks? Holy historical building that.
ReplyDeleteAs to Sen Hirono, she and others, Blumenthal, Durbin. Pelosi, Schumet, Waters. et.al. are poster children for term limits. In fact, once every year there ought to be an award given perhaps a bronze statuette of a boot about to kick something, the the member of Congress, who through their actions and public utterances show best why there should be term limits.
Stilt:
ReplyDeleteThat last paragraph made me laugh out loud. Outrageously funny. Pretty much made my day.
Kameltoe Harriss with a spit take? I heard it on a good "authority" unnamed source that she was a NQNS pro. Okay, I was probably out of line with that comment, but no more so than the inquisitor from Hawaii with her questions.
ReplyDeleteThe dems say she will undo everything they have been trying to do for the past 12+ years.
ReplyDeleteI say God bless her and more power to her.
.
NSF
The dems say she will undo everything they have been trying to do for the past 12+ years.
ReplyDeleteI say God bless her and more power to her.
Is there any downside to this ? I can't see one .........Good Luck, God bless Amy !!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see future Associate Justice Amy Coney Barrett elevated to Chief Justice Amy Coney Barrett the instant John Roberts wises up and stops being a flunky for the left.
ReplyDeleteI meant that Roberts wises up and retires to stop being a flunky for the left...
