Wait of the World

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, election, waiting, hospital, waiting room

After a bit of introspection, we were able to identify the queasy feeling which has been tying our stomach in knots. It's the feeling we have when spending endless hours in a waiting room while a loved one is in surgery. Is everything going to be okay? Is nothing going to be okay? Are there really NO magazines to read unrelated to golf?

But while we wait, there are at least a few amusements to distract us...

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, lefty lucy, blm, riots, looting, assholes, police shooting, race

Yes, there's fresh rioting and looting related to an incident in which police fatally shot a black man for no reason whatsoever other than that he was big, out of his mind, and was chasing them with a butcher knife.

But the usual numbnuts on the Left are still complaining about police officers saving their own lives, and are declaring that a knife is such a silly little weapon that it shouldn't even be considered dangerous.

This is not an opinion shared in Nice, France, where two people were killed, and a third killed and beheaded, by a knife-wielding maniac shouting "Allahu Akbar." An Arabic phrase which, according to Google, translates to "free Nikes for everyone if the gendarmes shoot me."

FROM THE VAULT: TRICKY TREAT

Happy Halloween from Stilton's Place!

  2. I don't know about the other "Cheese Heads" here Stilt, but I'm actually looking forward to getting those car warranty ads on the phone again!

  3. I escaped Philadelphia for the Ozarks in 2003. And every day, I'm gladder and gladder I did, because if I were still there, I'd either be dead or shooting at "peaceful protestors"...

As for phone spam of all varieties, I keep the ringer off and voicemail on. Much better for my peace of mind. :)

  4. Was it really a knife? Or was it a harmless kitchen utensil, such as a cleaver or a tenderizing hammer?

  5. They didn't learn it at home, nor at church, nor at school; & probably not on a job. Or maybe they're drugged out of their minds; but this is all very simple. It becomes a life-lesson in civics & law. Keep attacking police with force: keep getting killed. Most people pick up on this quickly; & please notice nothing was said about about skin color.

If this nation is intolerable; leave. Wait; there's a bug. The borders aren't open both ways.
There's a lesson in that as well.

  6. Regarding the candy theft in the last cartoon. I heard of clip of China Joe on the campaign trail yesterday recycling the "if you like your (fill in the blank) you can keep it" lie. Wow, he really has NO self-awareness does he?

  7. Question: Should Biden and his ho secure the WH, ideas on what the strip should/could be renamed for the next four years of Plague and pestilence?

Btw, is case you haven't read yet, the vile, amoral and twice repudiated most unfit, unworthy and unqualified POTUS candidate since Henry Wallace will be an elector for NY.

Believe it was here that somone said the Clintons are like a case of herpes: they'll never go away and there'll be occasional outbreaks.

  8. @Fish: "Slow Joe and Ho" until Biden gets 25thed, "Kameltoe Komix" thereafter.

But I'm reasonably sure we're not gonna have to worry much about it; my lefty chums are already moaning about the prospects of four more years of Orange Man Bad.

Oddly enough, my rightwing chums are convinced otherwise, for the most part.

My call: A squeaker, either way.

  10. It's worse than you think Stilt. There are no longer any magazines in waiting rooms, golf or otherwise. Because Covid, and the fear that someone icky could have touched them before you.

  11. @Drew: HGTV, however, seems to be ubiquitous. I guess it's the closest thing to non-partisan programming they can find.

  12. Great stuff, Stilt! I remember the O'Liar on Halloween one, and ironic that Joe is still using the same schtick.

    @Fish,
It sprang immediately into my little pea brain: "C'mon man!" Cartoons. However... I am praying that the re-invention of this fine blog will be something Stilton doesn't even need to think about. Also praying for a red landslide so decisive, that counting votes past November 4th will be a pointless waste of time.

    @Mike Porter,
I'm actually old enough to know the movie you are referring to. Also, I really like your beer.

  14. Wait of the World: Well, better stock up on whatever your sedative of choice is, because I have a feeling that we'll be waiting long past next Tuesday. I'm thinking well into January if not February. Or beyond if the Democrats don't get the result they want. The word is out that there will be violence.

Lucy and the Great Gaslight: In a saner world, the fact that the vast majority of these incidents involving police shooting people of color only seem to involve those committing crimes or various acts of aggression or violence would lead people to a conclusion other than that which is being used to justify the current state of anarchy. We used to rely upon adults to point this out. But unfortunately, we don't have adults leading our public discourse anymore. We merely have overindulgent people just longing to be loved by the public, and will say whatever they think needs to be said in order to stay popular.

Speaking of Adults: It appears as though the French may be growing back the nads that they surrendered over a century ago:

Since the horrific killing of Samuel Paty in Conflans, the French government has been trying to revive its fortunes with a drive for national unity. But behind calls to defend free speech, the government is launching an extraordinary offensive of Islamophobia and reaction. Now the national education minister has suggested that anyone who denounces Islamophobia should be seen as part of the camp of "Islamo-leftists", guilty of intellectual complicity with terrorism.

Of course, when you compare left's hate for western civilization with that of that of the Islamists, you note little difference. So yes, if voting for Trump makes you a sexist, racist, fascist, etc, etc, why shouldn't supporting the Islamo-leftists make you guilty of terrorism?

Tricky Treat: That's a great metaphor for the Progressive economic agenda; They'll take your bags of candy for the promise of even more candy later. Some day.

  16. You know, we just need to pass common sense knife laws and the cops wouldn't have to go around shooting innocent, violent felons with rap sheets longer than the combined, um, Crotchular Artillery of John Holmes and Ron Jeremy. Just look at how successful the UK has been in bringing down their murder rates, since that outlawed pointy objects and anything sharper than Joe Biden's cognitive ability! Waitaminute... Maybe that's not such a good example... Lemme ruminate on it for a while and I'll get back to you...

    Carry on.

  17. Just going through a bunch of books left behind by a departed tenant. I'm keeping "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through The Looking Glass". Some good sane reading compared to the current world situation.

Now I guess I'm going to have to look for "Gulliver's Travels" for some more sensible reading.

Stilt - have fun with the time change.....

  18. @Unknown: Depending on the final results after next Tuesday, I may be re-reading "Wizard of Oz" and "Atlas Shrugged." C'mon, man! The original WoOz was much grimmer and bloodier, and its tyrannical wizard not the genial con artist of the film...

  19. @Readers- Good and enjoyable comments! Today I'm sulking (well, a little) because this will be the first time ever for me to turn out the lights and not entertain trick-or-treaters for Halloween. Damn pandemic. And yes, I'm dreading the damn time change; for several days I'll feel bad enough that I won't know if I have Covid or not.

Not knowing how things will be going in the immediate future, yesterday I exercised my 2nd Amendment rights while I still could and purchased a...noisemaker. Yeah, that's the ticket! A noisemaker! So guests will still be welcome for cocktails, but not so much if they're molotov cocktails.

  20. Stilt: May we assume you don't travel much east or west to stay for a while either? I think DST is pretty useless as well; but "Come On Man"; it's just an hour. [grinning]

  21. Hi Stilt, I received an email from Conservative Cardinal with this link about foods that weaken the bones. It has some good suggestions for protecting bones. Thought your wife would want to see it, and don't know any other way to send the info:
    https://health.nativepath.com/bone-dissolving-foods-you-must-avoid-vlsupls?hpcid=854&pub=240213&hit=524528788&c1=rainmaker&c2=bs110120&utm_source=rainmaker&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=bs110120&utm_content=cc110120

This is the intro from the newsletter: What really causes bone loss (and how to help minimize fractures, falls and injuries)? Calcium and vitamin D are great but they won't help with the true underlying cause of bone-deterioration: Collagen loss - which means the only way to effectively rebuild bone mass is to help the body produce more collagen, the specific protein that makes up to 90% of our bone matrix. Researchers have also concluded that certain foods are shown to exacerbate the loss of bone mass leading to weaker, more brittle bones putting seniors at an even higher risk of experiencing falls and fractures.
In the following eye-opening article, discover which 5 bone-dissolving foods seniors must avoid and the doctor-recommended way to add more collagen into your diet for long-term bone health. -Dr. Chad Walding DPT & NativePath Co-Founder

  22. @Rod- My grasp on reality is tenuous at the best of times. "Just an hour" magically appearing out of nowhere doesn't help (grin).

@Linda Lee- Thanks for the link, we'll check that out!

  24. Regarding DST, the government just "gave" us back the hour they took back in March. They tried to redistribute it but as usual for government programs, it didn't work the way they claimed it would.
