Seuss Sayers

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, WAP, Wet Ass Pussy, Dr. Seuss, cancel culture, racist, racism
For those who don't know, the wildly offensive "Wet Ass Pussy" was one of the most popular songs of 2020

Tuesday was "Read Across America Day," chosen to fall on the birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss, and intended to promote a love of reading amongst kids around the country. And as a very special treat this year, the Left (including the White House) struck Seuss's name from the occasion after he was, of course, branded a racist.

Six of the author's books will no longer be published and, if you care to check out the offenses, you'll find them relatively minor albeit not meeting today's standards of political correctness. And while we'll never support book banning or book burning, we're not without some sympathy for the case being made here. Children's books (and we've actually written a few) should be held to particularly high standards and the very young can't be expected to understand disclaimers about society's changing mores.  Moreover, the decision to discontinue the books in question wasn't made by a governmental body, but rather by the rights holders of the books who will now be losing significant money from missed sales. That's a principled stand in anyone's book.

Less principled, and far more chilling, is Ebay's decision not to allow used copies of the popular books to be re-sold on their platform. Meaning that any old copy you already have (and which you were hoping just got more valuable) just went from collectible to contraband. This is big tech censorship, impure and simple.

Most importantly, we take exception to the idea that Dr. Seuss was a "racist" in any real sense, even though some of his earliest cartoons - not intended for children - from back in the 1930's are screamingly inappropriate today (big-lipped African cannibals boiling explorers in stewpots being a case in point). But by the 1940's, he was an advocate for the rights of black Americans.

Dr. Seuss, the man and the artist, evolved over time and eventually was creating children's books specifically intended to fight prejudice and racism. Those books reached and had a positive influence on millions of kids. Dr. Seuss deserves to be remembered for that. Especially on the day which was created in his honor.

SAVAGE INSULT

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, biden, neanderthal, texas, covid, masks

Speaking of offensive stereotyping, Joe "I'll take questions unless they cut off my microph..." Biden decided to accuse Texas and Mississippi of "Neanderthal thinking" for dropping mask mandates and various other Covid restrictions. Neanderthals being, of course, the primitive humans who eventually died out because there was no prehistoric bearskin-wearing Dr. Fauci to warn them of the importance of double-masking.

Of course, the states in question aren't banning masks or any other precautions - they're simply saying that it's time to let the common sense of citizens be the guiding principle instead of officious and ever-changing government mandates. If it proves to be a mistake, we'll have learned something valuable. And if it works? Well, we're pretty sure that Mumblin' Joe will be a big enough man to take full credit for it.

  1. Not mandating masks: "Neanderthal thinking".

Letting over 100 COVID positive illegals wander anywhere they want throughout the country (with no guarantee they will wear masks, wash their hands or social distance) : Brilliant!

    Forget Cancel Culture,
    I think it's a sham,
    I do not like it,
    Uncle Sam-I-Am.

    Ignoring achievements
In the name of the Woke
    And cause more division
    With the fires they stoke.

    Take history out of context
    Is now the new game
    Not looking for justice
    But someone to blame.

    Today it's a book,
    So watch what you do!
    One day in the future,
    They may cancel you!

  3. I agree that the illustration of an explorer being boiled in a stewpot is screamingly inappropriate today. Everyone know that modern cannibals use microwave ovens!

(Do I have to say it?: Just kidding! Just kidding!)

  4. Now having read the lyrics to Cardi B's "Wet Ass Pussy" I think that some of these "woke" progressive dumb asses should have a comparison debate between what is offensive about Dr. Seuss and what is so uplifting about Cardi B. If any white person were to repeat those lyrics - or anything written by Cardi B - out loud, the result would likely be a lynching. I don't know if I would disagree with that action. Plus "WAP" was named song of the year by numerous groups. Including NPR. Do her songs actually get broadcast airplay? (Obviously NOT over any of my radios.) I'm having difficulty coming up with a description of her "music" that is in any way complimentary. I frequently find myself in the company of former Marines and sailors. They would be embarrassed by this individual's language. That whirring sound you're hearing is just George Carlin @ 10,000 rpm.

  9. Color me “racist” if you will, but I see images of “big-lipped African cannibals boiling explorers in big stewpots” as whimsical and humorous and in no way offensive of anybody. All cartoons depict people in exaggerated humorous ways and differing cultures DO have notable features neither good nor bad. It’s a “sticks-n-stones” thing.

It’s more of an Over the Top thing trolling for offence where there is none just to make a lot of noise by some whiney ass jerk.

FWIW, Ebay currently has copies of Mein Kampf listed for sale. Sadly, that's not surprising...

Whenever Tail-Grabber-Joe speaks,I ask myself.'When did we elect Professor Irwin Corey?'Then I realize hardly anybody under 40,or maybe 50,knows who that is.Then I realize the good Professor Corey would be a much better choice than Joe.As would any wooden cigar store native American(that's probably still not politically correct enough).

  13. I was just checking E-bay for availability of certain books.

"Quotations From Chairman Mao," by Mao Tse-Tung is available for between $10-$200.

"Mein Kampff," by Adolph Hitler, is available from $99-$500.

"The Anarchist's Cookbook" is available for about $20.

"Scrambled Eggs Super," by Dr. Seuss, lists for $20.
A five-book assortment of the "banned" Dr. Seuss titles ranges between $1400-$2000.

BUT! E-bay has decided to block all sales/resales of the horrible half-dozen Dr. Seuss titles, because they're DANGEROUS!

  14. Potatohead; Dr. Seuss, etc. It's all BS and everyone on all sides knows it.

It's for Distraction; Intimidation, & Diversion of Attention. And that's about all the major media is now. Every bit of time they get to sell on this stuff (and so many of us still lap it up like honey) is time they don't have to mess with real news. I've gone cold turkey on it.

And also: February is over. But for equity & inclusion, When is Caucasian History Month? When we all get to remember & appreciate the many contributions of Whites throughout history and world-wide. There may in-fact be one; but who's heard of it?

What if we really did ALL just go colorblind including government and media? There are PLENTY of other both valid and legal reasons to maintain biases.

  15. Just when you think we've arrived at maximum insanity, they seem able to take it to the next level.

WAP: It has always impressed me as to how a certain segment of the entertainment industry has remained totally immune to the #MeToo phenomenon. For example, lately I've been astounded as to how many TV ads I've seen with Snoop Dogg promoting mainstream products, and can be regularly seen with Martha Stewart. Meanwhile, corporate America has declared that Gina Carano is no longer appropriate for public consumption for her supposedly horrific opinions, but Cardi B still is.

If you had a choice between only Gina Carano or Cardi B as a role model for your little girl, which would you choose? Too bad, because Woke America is already making that choice for you.

Fahrenheit 451 is becoming more of a reality every day. I wish I had my childhood Dr. Seuss books.

If this latest eruption of wokism demonstrates anything, it's that absolutely nobody is safe from this mob. Dr. Seuss can hardly be classified as some right-wing extremist. And yet due to some unfortunate imagery from another place and time he's now purged.

But at least we still have Cardi B & Snoop Dogg.

Neanderthal Thinking: What will really be interesting will be comparing new infection rates over the next two weeks between the states that have dropped mask mandates and those who have retained them. Because that would be "science!". Should there be no statistically measurable difference between the two, then expect a revolt from a country that is sick and tired of being tamped down. Biden is pushing for another year of lockdowns because he needs another year of imposed crisis while he solidifies his agenda for the fake ones. Americans are not going to stand for that.

People want to pickup from where they were in 2019, not 2009.

  17. Completely off topic:

The filthy mainstream media, suck up hacks are now holding Joe "Dillinger" Biden up as a saint and all-around good guy for supposedly canceling a military strike because there was a woman and a child in the near vicinity. What a load of Shiite. I'm calling fake news. Also, not that it wasn't already happening, but Joe "Ma Barker" Biden (an attempt at being all inclusive because girls can be criminals to) has now given terrorists of all stripes a "get of jail free" card. Simply populate your training sites, command centers and weapons depots with a woman and a child and carry on as usual. Nothing to fear from Joe “Can’t Get Erectus” Biden.

I wonder if the Pope has added Joe "I Support Late Term Abortions" Biden to the short list of names for beatification. You know, because the media have now made him a de facto saint anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I loved Governor Abbott's response to Joe's "Neanderthal" reference. "The Biden administration was exposing Texans to COVID. That is a Neanderthal type approach to dealing with the COVID situation."

    @Rod,

Yup! While people focus on crap like the woke flavor of the week (Dr. Suess, Megan and Harry, all things Trump, Scumbag Cuomo, imagined racism, "Covid will kill you" vs "Covid is about gone," to vax or not to vax, Conservative actors getting the axe, to name a few) , congress is very busy stripping away our rights, running up bills that can't be paid, and ensuring that no Republican will ever be elected again. Hey, but a $1,400 bribe will fix everything, right?

    @John the Econ,
It seems the radical muslims have been using women and children for shields for centuries. Smart tactic against the likes of Joe "What am I doing here; I'm gonna lose track" Biden.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Mike aka Proof- Transporting Covid-positive illegals around the country is like firing a shotgun into a crowd of innocent people. It's madness at best and should be criminalized (from Biden on down).

@M. Mitchell Marmel- I take that last line very seriously.

@Maoz- I can't pretend to be offended by the cannibal cartoon. It's an artifact of another time and needs to be interpreted as such.

@Snark- I linked to the lyrics of WAP because if you don't read them, there's no way you could guess how depraved they are. And was the song banned and the artist canceled? Nope - both enjoyed (and are enjoying) huge success in our effed-up culture.

@Fish Out of Water- The books will be collector's items alright, if you can find a place to sell them.

@Fred Ciampi- As often as Joe has talked about taking someone out behind the gym, I'm unaware that he ever actually did it. I'm guessing that he's had the nickname "hidin' Biden" for a lot longer than we may have thought.

@Fish Out of Water- I'd really LIKE to apply for the job, but I'd probably be eliminated for having read Dr. Seuss as a child.

@TrickyRicky- I believe that quote. I also agree with the person (wish I could remember who) that said "cancel culture" is a dry run for actually "disappearing" people and killing them if they're inconvenient. Again, there's history.

@KanB- It's not like Dr. Suess made white people look like Aryans or demi-gods. Like you said, he was all about humorous exaggeration - which was why on one of the "offensive" pages (with a Chinese man with slanted eyes, lampshade hat, and rice bowl) no one complained about the old white guy with a 10-foot long beard.

@CenTexTim- Yeah, Ebay is perfectly happy selling some really nasty stuff - but insensitive children's books? Verboten!

@rickn8or- But, but...what about our "privilege"?!

@millard fillmore- I'm an old guy so I immediately agree with your comparison to the very funny Professor Irwin Corey. I think I'll look him up on Youtube...

@Murphy(AZ)- Their policies don't quite seem consistent, do they? And for those who hate reading in general, Ebay will happily sell you copies of "Triumph of the Will," Hitler's propaganda film by Leni Reifenstahl (I may be spelling her name wrong, but screw her for helping the Nazis).

@Rod- Admittedly these stories ARE nonsense and intended to rev people up. And I suppose I should take a mea culpa for joining in, although at least I keep it tongue in cheek. And you're right that even in a colorblind society, people would still find reasons to be biased against one another. It can never be completely eliminated, but it can be discouraged socially. The goal should be changing behaviors rather than somehow changing the way people think.

@John the Econ- Excellent points all!

@Sortahwitte- Sorry about the post-surgical pain, and are those pills for sale? Just kidding about that second part. The troops in Washington disturb me too. They're intended to send a (false) message that those on the Right are dangerous terrorists, but I also can't help thinking that the Left is fortifying as defense against reactions to policies they've planned but not shared.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @Gonzo '57- You make a great point that dens of terror will henceforth make sure there's a yard filled with women and children visible from above at all times. Should the raid have been called off? I don't know (and wouldn't want to have to make the call), but if the site was important enough to strike, it was probably important enough to accept collateral damage.

@Colby Muenster- Also good was Governor Abbott's response to the White House request that Texas "help" with the medical needs of the "kids" pouring in to our country. Abbot firmly said "no," because those people aren't the responsibility of Texans. We don't even want them here and, barring federal interference, they wouldn't be here.

And regarding that $1400 bribe, I guess I'll keep on bitching because I'm among those excluded from receiving the payment (but not excluded from funding those payments).

  22. So biden supposedly cancelled a military strike because there was a woman and a child in the near vicinity?

I wonder, how long would the war against Japan have continued, and how many more casualties there would have been if Xi-JinBiden had been in office 06 Aug 1945?

  23. Maybe Governor Abbott could take over the border barrier build (and build it better?). Seems that easements/rights-of-way have already been obtained and a lot of materiel is already staged. To help finance it, he should be able to impose a fee on remittances going south of the border.

And as far as illegal aliens testing positive for the Chinese Lung Rot and hopping on buses, could he maybe arrange for them to be sent to DC, Wilmington Delaware, or Chappaqua NY?

    ReplyDelete
  24. If you have any copies of the currently banned books and you want to sell them, just go set up a table at a gun and knife show.

  25. I am quite proud of my Neanderthal genes as evidenced by my DNA study. As reported on MedicalNewsToday:
"In a new study, researchers found another Neanderthal gene with the opposite effect, which may offer protection against severe COVID-19.
Half of all people outside of Africa possess this protective gene, which reduces their need for intensive care for COVID-19 by 20%." They say another because of course there is one that makes it worse.
After reading this I have to wonder if we deplorables are more likely to have the Neanderthal gene that helps fight covid or the Neanderthal gene that makes it worse. I'm guessing that my resistance to masking and lockdowns is probably genetic. My wife does tell me I act like a Neanderthal. Now I can be proud when she says that.
