Treason's Greetings

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, milley, china, traitor, trump, biden, vacation, time off, wbc

In what we fervently wish was only a rhetorical question, if military deserter Bowe Bergdahl (swapped by Obama for five of the Taliban's most dangerous chiefs) can be said to have served with "honor and distinction" (as Barry did), then is it possible that our nation's highest-ranked military officer, General Mark Milley, can actually be praised by a president for committing out-and-out treason against our nation?

Of course! And it's happening right now, because that's the slap-happy Hell we're all living in these days. For anyone who doesn't know, in the waning days of President Trump's term of office, General Milley made an urgent, foam-flecked emergency phone call to China to tell them that Trump was thinking of launching a preemptive nuclear strike on them...but not to worry, because if Trump actually did it, General Milley would call the Chinese first. Presumably so they could duck and cover, or quickly release the lethal contents of everything still mutating in the Wuhan Apocalypse Lab & Grill.

For this act, the media and even president Biden are praising Milley (the same military genius whose plan for exiting Afghanistan was apparently based on the self-defense strategies used by Ned Beatty in Deliverance). "Wow!" they say, "Milley averted a nuclear war that Trump, the evil bastard, probably would have started for no reason!"

Except Trump had no intention of starting a war or igniting a worldwide nuclear holocaust. But ask yourself this: did Milley's traitorous phone call really make nuclear annihilation less likely...or did it take us dangerously close to the brink of disaster? After all, wouldn't China's most logical action to prevent their destruction be to fire every missile they had first? Especially when assured by our nation's highest-ranked officer that Trump had gone violently insane, apparently concerned that Chinese communists were adding flouride to our water in order to sap mens' virility and contaminate our Precious Bodily Fluids?

So from where WE sit (technically an underground bunker), it looks like General Milley's severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome not only caused him to betray our country, but also raised the world's nuclear threat level to very near the point of no return.

An accomplishment for which the already over-decorated officer should definitely receive special recognition.  Perhaps in an outdoor ceremony with his back to a brick wall, puffing a cigarette before receiving what he so richly deserves.

=======(PLEASE READ BELOW)=======

Per the cartoon at the top of this page, I really am going to make my already sporadic posting schedule even more sporadic for a while.  A medical situation has popped up for Mrs. J which is going to take time and attention to deal with, and which will make it hard to stick to any schedules.

Oh, I'll still try to drop by once a week or so to wave and create a fresh forum for comments, but other than that I just can't make any promises. And of course, if you're on my mailing list (and why wouldn't you be?!) I'll shoot you a note to let you know that there's something to see over here. Hey, if inspiration hits or I can recycle an old post, I'll do it!

I can't really share any details about what's going on yet (and the situation is still coming into focus), but for now I'll just say that positive thoughts, prayers, and good vibes directed toward the Jarlsberg family will be much appreciated.

And I won't even wait to say "thank you" for your friendship and support. I already know they're out there, and I hope YOU know how much that means to me!    - Stilton

  5. Most of my prayers are of recognition of blessings, appreciation and thanks; I will ask for successful outcome as well. Also going mention personal strength, wisdom & calm.

I think you know to keep good personal records of EVERYTHING as you work with the daisy-chain of doctors, nurses, techs, pharmacists & insurance companies, etc. in our healthcare system.

May you find really good ones. Ask good questions; follow good instructions, and have good luck. We manufacture much "good luck" ourselves. Be nice but sometimes must also be clear & patient with them. And please know it is truly amazing what can be done now.

  18. Best of luck with whatever it is that ails you, Stilton. Hope it turns out to be a simple as lancing a boil.

Not to distract, but perhaps a need to rant, there is a person in Japan I've known for many years, who for various reasons chose to ignore the warning signals her body sent out and too late, consulted a physician to learn she has stage 4 cancer.

Japan has nationalized health care and I found it infuriating the Obamacare proponents were pushing it as one of the 'whys' we should have Obamacare & socialized medicine.

Well, under Japan's nationalized system of health care, this person doesn't qualify for hospice care she will need because..... she doesn't have dementia.

Tell me again how wonderful nationalized health care here would be?

  36. @Readers- Thank you for all the kind words and support! I need to clarify things on the medical front a bit: it's actually Mrs J who's facing a challenging diagnosis (how challenging we don't know yet). And because she's the heart and soul (and usually the brains) of the family, it's frankly hard for me to concentrate on anything else.

All that being said, I'm not disappearing. I'm just getting less predictable schedule-wise!

Take all the time you need to take care of your loved ones. Family first.
RE: That, I got to see a lot of family this past weekend, including three grand-nieces I hadn't seen. What a hoot. The 6-year-old was drawing dinosaurs on the patio with chalk. They all had smiley faces, even the T. rex. Also took in my 50th high-school reunion. That was really nice.

  45. I join in the chorus above wishing all my best to Mrs. J and hope for the successful resolution of her health problem. As far as Milly goes, I just can't help but recall the actual hell those scum leftists put Gen. Flynn through for having the audacity of meeting with a Russian ambassador for the incoming Trump administration. And with today's indictment of Hillary's attorney, the whole hoax has been exposed. I hope these people burn to a crisp in the afterlife.

  49. Well, just another reminder that we are living in the end times, and no, I don't mean Mrs. J's illness. Sending her best wishes and positive vibes, will remember your family in my daily prayers, and mostly that we all survive intact will be added, too.

  50. Here's hoping Mrs. J will win out over whatever it is that's wrong!

Regarding Milley Vanilli, I think he's nothing more than one of those "perfumed princes" as David Hackworth used to say. I do have to wonder how, if he's just another REMF, he ever got that Combat Infantry Badge he wears. Did he actually engage in combat? When and where? It used to take 30 days to earn that badge. When would he have been in combat for 30 days?

  51. Prayers for Mrs J and for you as well. The caregiver is too frequently overlooked in the concern for the patient. Medicate as needed. For both of you. Cheers and hurry back with GREAT news.

  52. Our best to Mrs J and to you, too, as well as daughter J.
We need you, but she probably needs you more right now.

    ReplyDelete
  53. @Readers- Here's a Friday evening update: since 2017, Mrs. J has had a chronic pre-leukemia condition which behaved itself quite nicely, with no symptoms and no treatment other than (very close) watching and waiting. Well, the waiting is over. In the course of a week or two, her condition changed to acute leukemia with a rocket up its ass. We were told to rush into the hospital today, where an oncologist told us she only had 2 or 3 weeks to live unless she got aggressive treatment. Which is one HELL of a compelling sales pitch to sign up for aggressive treatment.

So on Monday (unless emergencies arise) she checks into the hospital for at least a month, where she'll be getting powerful chemotherapy. And after that, more chemotherapies. The only chance of a "cure" would involve a bone marrow transplant - but we're getting ahead of ourselves there.

She's home now, with some low-dose chemotherapy tablets to take, so we'll spend the next couple of days thinking about things she'll need in the hospital, and the millions of things daughter J and I will need to learn how to do while she's healing.

So again, thank you for you good wishes and prayers, and please keep 'em coming!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I know it's early in the process, but if you have any trouble with compatible bone marrow, I know a bunch of people that would be willing to be tested. Many, if not most of us n'er do wells would be ok with giving a bone marrow donation. Friends do things for friends. G

  58. Yo, Stilt!

Is there something we can do ... e.g., signing up for bone marrow compatibility?

  62. @Stilton: Wow, talk about a sledgehammer of a diagnosis! Hoping all will turn out for good.

  63. FYI: We've been there as well with the lady of the house being ill. IMO women can be a hellofalot tougher than us manly types. That was two decades ago and she's doing fine; but WE as a team beating what was trying to kill my wife became the primary "project" in my life back then; but there was also this other job to do as well. So a couple of years later those rolls reversed; a secondary lesson-learned was you also need to take care of yourself as well. Diet, exercise, address stress, get some support.

We're both still here. But it was NOT Barry-Care back then either; and we were well-insured. So you have another job indeed. Don't worry about us; besides, I can't take much more of this crap from this damned administration anyway. They provide a reason to believe in Hell. Team up and beat the illness. Several years ago and I think it was just after you had introduced Busty; I told you your wife was a Saint. She should be good.

  72. @Readers- Bless you, one and all, for the true friends you are. I'm writing this Sunday night and Mrs J (whose first name is "Kathy") heads into chemo and a month-long hospital stay on Monday. Monday afternoon, annoyingly; I wish we were in the car NOW.

I'll surely be communicating with you all and leaning on you in the coming days. I've never been so afraid in my life. But I've also heard from quite a few survivors who've had remarkable recoveries - so THAT'S the goal here.

Thank you all for being who you are and, especially, for being here. -Stilton

  73. I was poking around the Internet and found a site that discusses the procedure associated with getting registered as a potential bone marrow donor, if the situation were to warrant such an action.

Obviously, I cannot attest to the applicability of this for Mrs. J's situation ... I am just throwing it out here as a possible path for volunteers.

  74. Stilt, would you let us know Kathy's mother's name? Jewish custom, when praying for someone's health, is to mention them as So-and-so the child of [their mother].

    ReplyDelete
  75. A childhood friend (after whom we named our son) went through that same thing just last year during lockdown, which was just oodles of fun. He is currently doing very well post-marrow transfusion; so well that I want to shake him like a British nanny for occasionally being a smartass.

Tim was diagnosed with “weeks to live” and taken to the hospital. Just before they wheeled him in for his month-long stay his wife snatched off his mask, gave him a passionate kiss, and yelled, “You’re the best brother I ever had!” The staff was appalled she broke “quarantine” rules and Tim almost messed his pants laughing.

BTW, if anyone should start a GoFundMe account, I know your readers could help cover any fiscal gaps in your insurance policy, like the jacked up cost of Clan Macgregor. Geez, that stuff is getting pricey!

Seriously, all the best to you and Mrs J and y’all are in our prayers.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Oh, @Stilton. I am literally in tears reading the above. I can't imagine facing something so immediate like that. Of course, you are both in our prayers. Please stay strong for Kathy as she needs that from you more than anything right now. We'll stay strong for you.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Our prayers are with you.
    God is with you.

    ReplyDelete
  78. @Readers- Wow, a long and hard day today, though alright (I guess) in a "one day at a time" kind of way. I got Kathy checked into the hospital after a nervous weekend (they don't start chemo on weekends, and her condition was bad enough that seeing Monday wasn't a sure thing).

But she IS checked in now and already starting all kinds of medical shenanigans, with chemo beginning first thing tomorrow. It's a hard road ahead of us, but at least she's now someplace where they can monitor her condition and hopefully help her.

A telling detail from today: after about 4 hours of checking in, blood tests, and questionnaires, she was finally in a room - and then given the Covid nasal swab test. "What happens if I have Covid?" she asked. "Well, then you have to leave immediately and not come back until you can show you're over it."

Yeah, going home for a couple of weeks when you've got two weeks to live seems like a bad idea. So that was yet another knife in my heart, waiting for someone to drift back into the room with a literal life or death decision. Nobody, in fact, ever reported the results to us - but she's still there tonight, so I guess we got at least ONE small laugh over Fauci and his asshole mad scientist buddies in Wuhan.

Maoz- Kathy's mother's name was Jane. All prayers are appreciated!

For that matter, no one needs to apply for bone marrow donations yet (if that changes, I'll let you know). Annoyingly, Kathy's brother and sister are both considered too old to be donors (apparently the cut off is 60 or some damn thing). But we've got a long way to go before we can even consider such things.

I'll share more when I can, but after a long, long surreal day I'm absolutely exhausted. And so to bed.

And bless you all for being here for us. It counts.

    ReplyDelete
  79. @Stilton: Yeah, I looked into being a donor and was royally pissed that I had several strikes against me...

Well, I can still send positive waves Jarlsbergs-ways. :)

    ReplyDelete
