Fahrenheit 365

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, 2022, 2023, New Year, Kathy, Fuck It, Year in Review

Unsurprisingly, I won't be doing my annual "year in review" for the blog this year. I haven't paid close attention to the news (although you didn't need to pay close attention to be aware of what a colossal fustercluck it was and is) and you sure as heck don't need to hear another recounting of my personal year.

I don't have much in the way of plans for New Year's Eve other than to go to my backyard at midnight, set fire to the 2022 calendar, and then create a cloud of urine-scented steam as I forcefully (and quite personally) extinguish the embers.

But hey, 2023 will be a brand new year! A tabula rasa! A Stayfree-fresh new beginning! And in that spirit, I heartily and sincerely wish you all the Least Painful New Year possible.

  3. New Year celebration? I found a live web camera - covering Sydney Harbor Bridge. It's the site for a fireworks display. Just when it starts and how long it will be, I don't know as yet. An 18 hour time difference compared to California time. The cost of the display - $AU 5.8 million - up in smoke.

To one and all, may 2023 be a heck of a lot better than 2022.,

  4. Please, don't anyone say "2023 couldn't possibly be any worse than 2022." It was taken as a challenge a year ago, apparently.

The Least Painful New Year possible to one and all and especially to you too, @Stilt!

  8. Jeep Guy: You beat me to it. I can just hear 2023 saying "Hold mah beer"... :P

Have as happy a new year as you can, everyone.

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends

  9. OMG this one is funny. IMO it's one of your best 'toons and I've been following your zany dark sense of humor for a long time. I'm not in the mood to take any more chances either.

Now please just get Busty, Lefty, or the Crystal Ball Medium-With-Attitude back soon.

  10. Good riddance with 2022. Hope the new year has better results for you and all of us.

  11. Since he had never uttered the truth before, I thought that Obozo was exaggerating when he said "Never underestimate Biden's ability to fuck things up." Boy, was he ever right! I hold little faith in the Republicans to successfully hold his feet to the fire, the Murder Turtle will go along with anything his CCP father-in-law wants and couldn't care less about those of us who actually pay the bills. Hunker even further down than you are already. It doesn't look good.

On a lighter note, I hope that all here are able to avoid the shitstorm coming out of DC and that hearts heal and minds find calm. We all should be well hardened; at least the previous year prepared us for future adversity.

    Happy....never mind. Be well, Stilt.

  12. Yes, I fear that 2022 was only a prelude for far worse to come. That being said, I hope and pray that I am wrong.

Happy New Year....may it be so.

"One day closer to removing Groping Joe from office."

I'll drink heartily to that.... And many other things, including a good coming year to all.

  14. Everyone says 2023 will be a much better year.....with runaway inflation....that is a better year? Gas went up .16 cent a gallon in the past week. Does not bod well for 2023. Thanks for keeping 2022 tolerable Stilton. Praying for a better year for you and daughter J...and the rest of us too.

  15. A final salute to the old year, and a hope for a better year to come. I think there's plenty evidence for hyperactivity from the universe (God). If not, there should be a written document from Him as to His activity over Sodom and Gamora. Personally, it would be quite satisfying to see a solid stream of fire hover over activates in nations capitol. heh

  16. I swear, I don't know if it will be better or worse next year. I'm just sticking around to see what the hell happens next.

  17. Having read my wishes in the last iteration, my apologies for harsh words. Kinda like I feel towards 2022....

  18. I cannot add anything other than, Stay alert, and keep your powder dry.

The coming year will be Hell for anyone who doesn't. And it will be courtesy of BOTH sides of the political aisle.

  19. Happy new year, Stilt. Every day is a new opportunity…

  20. Bless you and yours for the rest of this year and the next. My favorite quote for the news is from Mr Twain. " If you do not read the news you are not informed , if you do read the news you are misinformed"

  21. Since @Stilton won't do it, here's my year in review: Almost everything that was officially declared either Russian disinformation or a right-wing "conspiracy theory" between 2020 and 2022 turned out not only to be true, but just the tip of an iceberg.

Our New Year's will be at least as muted as your's, @Stilton. Although we've now tested negative, we're still recovering from Christmas with the Wuhan Flu. We hope to confront the new year well-rested. My prayer for you all is to be able to find some sanity and peace in the new year.

  22. @Graham McDonald said "...$AU 5.8 million - up in smoke."

That's nothing. They just flew a $1.something-trillion dollar bill down to the Caribbean for the President to sign between naps. At least Australians will get to see where their money went up in smoke. The only sights that most of us will see of the Democratic spending blowout will be in the form of more inflation every time we pull out our wallets.

  24. Unless John Kerry's jet simultaneously crashes into George Soros' and Klaus Schwab's jets and erupts in a huge fireball, 2023 is doomed to be worse than 2022. Rolling blackouts and famines as far as the eye can see as the Left struggles to appease Mother Gaia do not bode well for humanity. It's just a matter of time until they out-and-out push human sacrifice as the ultimate good and enough people will wake up and realize their true aims, but by then it will be too late as we'll all be half-starved and half-frozen and unable to mount a concerted resistance.

Sorry to seem to be such a pessimist about the coming year, but I really am trying to be an optimist. I haven't even mentioned the looming nuclear holocaust or the new and improved Covid virus China is cooking up or the fact that we will soon have a fanatically Communist nation right on our Northern border and a failed narcostate on our Southern.

  26. Stilt, 2022 was really rough for you. I think I speak for all of us when I say that I really hope 2023 is much better.

    Happy New Year, bro!!!

  27. I was thinking 2022 wasn't such a bad year for me, all things considered, until a pipe burst in my attic AGAIN due to the single digit temps and the fact that the previous plumber who fixed it the last time failed to reinsulate it. The insulation was just sitting there BY the pipe. So I'm out at least $2,600 (deductible) and probably more, including the headache of the reconstruction again. I am an optimistic person generally, but the Washington DC slaughter of our nation and these personal catastrophes are bringing me down.

  28. Stilt!

I wish you and J the VERY BEST for the coming year.

  31. Happy New Year, Stilton !

You still have your razor sharp wit, so you gots that.

May you heal your torn soul in the new year. Now that may not involve rooming at a home for wayward Scandinavian women with scanty clothing budgets. You are too classy for that kind of decadence.

Life is moving forward, and the foundation of your life is golden. So you can reach for the stars. Please return to good times.

    Ciao,

  33. We military types have a saying, "Embrace the suck." Well, I sincerely hope 2023 has far less suck to embrace, 'cause my arms are getting real tired.

  34. Remember a year ago when we all yearned for 2022, because 2021 sucked so much?
    Yeah, good times, good times

  35. may your new year bring nothing you can't handle

  36. Thank you for your comment about our New Year. May that apply to you and yours too. I will drink to that for all of us. PEACE, GOOD WILL TO ALL. I don't think that is too much to ask for. The battle is GODs not ours. That has been proven to me many times this year. Pray for all of us to receive what is needed.

  37. And to you, my friend, I wish you a new year that is happy, joyous and free. May Gog bring you many manifold blessings.

  39. Stilt,
Whereas other drinks are gauged by their "vintage", is this particular one's quality determined by its "vomitage"?
