Santos Clause

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, George Santos, Christmas, Scrooge

The bipartisan and highly oxymoronic House Committee on Ethics has spoken and the House has subsequently voted to expel Representative George Santos (R, NY) for being "too obvious" about lying, grifting, and fraud - acts which threatened to "give away our whole game" according to one Washington insider who I'm probably making up.

Personally, I wanted Santos to remain in office as a team mascot for all of the liars, bribe-takers, sexual deviants, and poltroons currently mismanaging our country. Is a two-thirds majority of the House really claiming that Santos is more of a liar than Adam Schiff? That's not even theoretically possible. Was Santos' use of campaign funds for an "Only Fans" account worse than Senator Barney Frank's apartment being used as a gay brothel? Was Santos' use of Botox more extensive than that of Nancy Pelosi, who actually could be reached for comment but is unable to move her mouth muscles?

The answers, of course, are "no," "no," and "mmph." George Santos is a lying scoundrel, sure, but his real crime was a lack of style points. He was an unwanted public reminder that people regularly (or universally?) get into office by lying about their background, their accomplishments, and their intentions.

And in that sense, he was actually one of the most useful and transparent politicians in the Capitol.

GET SCROOGED

A Christmas Peril, Scrooge, Marley, Chains, Stilton

There's no particular reason behind this cartoon, other than I came across this piece of art and liked Scrooge's "Oh, piss off" face in reaction to Marley's ghost.  Hey, you enjoy your Christmas spirit and I'll enjoy mine (grin).

  1. A Christmas Peril? Maybe it should be "A Forger's Tale"?

  4. Santos’ real crime was being Republican.

  5. Just wait until Santos writes a tell-all book on defending his political shenanigan's. He was only sharing his fellow Congresscritter transgressions. I would not be surprised if Santos is suddenly 'suicided' before the end of the year. He has too much damaging evidence to remain on this side of the Veil.

  6. (ROFLs at Scrooge)

I do rather like your idea of defoliating Congress.

Just remember, congress is a synonym for getting f**ked...

  7. Your take on the Santos "cleansing" is spot on. BINGO! Well said. Ring the bell.

With a few exceptions, what a gathering of entrenched jerks. Most of them don't even recognize the exceptions nor the jerks.

  8. What does it say when someone is booted out of a club of chronic liars, for lying too much?

If Santos had been thinking ahead he could have switched parties long in advance of this farce. He would still be in the club.

I bring news of what would have been going to happen, if you were not to have been going to change your ways.

  12. It is good to ostracize people of questionable moral fiber. For too long we have tolerated them until they are now ingrained in almost every institute of our society.

  14. ONLY THE REPUBLICANS RID THEMSELVES OF THE BAD PENNIES, DEMOCRATS USE THEM TO SAY AND DO THE THINGS THAT WOULD EMBARRASS A NORMAL PERSON. THEY ARE USEFUL & WILLING IDIOTS READY TO SELL AMERICA DOWN THE RIVER FOR A FEW SHEKELS . THEY HAVE NO MORALS AND HAPPILY PERFORM IT FOR THE PERKS THAT COME WITH THE JOB.

  15. My only problem with the Santos drama is that he got booted without much in the way of "process". Had this involved any Democrat, that certainly would have been the demand. Why does Bob Menendez still have his seat in the Senate?

    Speaking of:

Fetterman calls for Menendez ouster, says actions ‘more sinister’ than Santos

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) renewed his call Friday for the Senate to vote to expel Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), calling the criminal allegations against the New Jersey lawmaker “more sinister” than the charges facing Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.), who was just expelled from the House.

Sad that the only guy in the Senate who has any sense of ethics is the supposedly brain damaged one.

Fetterman also turned heads last week when he hung posters of all the hostages held by Hamas at his office.

I like the Babylon Bee take on this:

Weird: Man Becomes More Conservative As He Regains Brain Function

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a bizarre coincidence, Senator John Fetterman has suddenly become more conservative after his brain resumed working.

Previously a die-hard liberal, Fetterman has stunned audiences by staking out a variety of conservative positions over the past several weeks, at the same time as his brain regained the ability to speak in sentences. With Fetterman's cognition continually improving, conservatives have sat dumbfounded as they found themselves nodding along with the Democrat.

"I don't know if I should be worried, but Fetterman sounds like he's speaking coherently and making valid arguments," said local conservative John Rogers as he watched the Senator on television. "I should probably go check my blood pressure to make sure I'm not the one stroking out."

  17. They kicked him out of the club, but probably don't realize they're still in the club, and it appears the club is mostly for criminals. Of course, the club has plenty of prosecutors, judges and other officials, so it's all going to be hunky dory. It sure assures my troubled mind.

  18. I firmly believe things like this are what is motivating people to vote for Trump. We are so sick and tired of one side being immune to consequences while the other is being prosecuted for fake crimes by the politically-driven so-called judicial system. Just as in 2016, I believe this is going to drive more and more of the usual non-voters to the polls. And that's not even taking into consideration the harm being handed down to us by the people who swore to take care of us.

  19. Just in time for xmas...
The senior hamas 'leader' has said that shortly they will show that Oct 7th was just a small start...

Seeing as Oct 7th was Simchat Torah, a Jewish Holy Day and that Dec 7th is both the first day of Hannukah and the anniversary of Pearl Harbour, I wouldn't be at all surprised if something similar happened on US soil, especially given the number of known terrorists infiltrating as 'immigrants' lately...
I'd stay close to home and keep my powder dry, just in case.
This is another time I hope I'm wrong but I'm afraid I might not be.

  23. @Readers- Sorry I haven't responded individually, but I'm muddle-headed enough lately that it's just hard to keep up with things. That being said, I appreciate every comment and am tickled to have you here!
