An Easy Commute

Last Friday was "a day which will live in infamy" for Leftists - who are likely unaware that the phrase has been used previously. In this case, it refers to President Trump's "Executive Grant of Clemency" commuting the sentence of former presidential advisor Roger Stone Jr - one of the higher profile prosecutorial victims of the Russian Collusion Hoax.

Those on the Left are fearful that if not kept in jail for life, the 67-year old Stone will embark on a wave of crime: setting buildings on fire, looting stores, strapping on a gun and claiming an entire urban neighborhood, toppling statues, defacing public monuments and, in his spare time, shooting dozens of black men, women, and children in Chicago.

Just kidding! The Left is actually totally cool with all of those things! What they're really afraid of is that Roger Stone will serve as a living reminder of their coup attempt and the corrupting of our nation's intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

And speaking of political dysfunction...

Joe Biden has announced his own plan to "Make America Great Again But Not A Donald Trump Kind of Great," which boils down to this: "buy American."

By which we assume he means to buy any of the literally dozens of products still made in our country, as opposed to actually buying an American the way Ukranian energy company, Burisma Holdings, bought Joe Biden by funneling money to his son, Hunter.

  1. Little surprise that Trump choose to do the right thing, despite the strong possibility that (were the national election held today) it would cause his defeat. My hope is that there will be an October surpise (indictments and warrants for arrest) for Democrats to follow...

  2. @Pat Cummings -- I'd be happy if it was a September, August, or even a July surprise. I really want those crooks in court then in jail.

I was curious why they said a 40 month jail term would be a virtual death sentence for what's-his-name. Then I found out he was 67. I'm 40 months older than that and I feel fine. And I live only about 25 miles from his would've been prison.

@MMM -- Would be nice if they also sent the DOJ and FBI to visit regarding the riots and looting, as well. Geez, if they can send 15 FBI agents to check on the Noosecar, they should have a few left over for sleuthing to bring to justice the controllers of the rioters and looters.

  5. I liked the part where Nancy Pelosi wants a law regulating who presidents can and can’t pardon. Welcome to the left’s nightmare

  6. @REM1875: Perhaps, but from what I read, it seems more of yet another case of someone out at at the public at large, who really shouldn't be.

  7. @Bobo: Yeah she can pass it, but SCOTUS will strike it down.

  8. The same people who are shocked that President Trump commuted Roger Stone's sentence didn't blink an eye when President Obama commuted the sentence of FALN terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera.

  10. Good to see you back on the job, Stilt. Now I can stop calling you Lazy Limburger.

  11. I loved the homophonia gag. Awesome. And truly, the caption about the guy named Cornhole who was fascinated by Joe's golden leg hairs is scarcely any creepier than the real story. As told by the crazy uncle.

  12. Rush was talking about the commutation this morning. He said Nancy Pelosi claimed it was a threat to national security and an impeachable offense. He then enumerated all the commutations and pardons of recent presidents. Barry O soared above all the rest with over 1,900, none of which caused even a rustle in the MSM or the Pelosi's of the world.

  13. The real purpose of the prosecution of Roger Stone: It's a loud-and-clear message to outsider non-swamp creatures by the political establishment to not get involved in DC politics or they will destroy you. And they don't need to get you into prison to do it. They can simply bleed you to death reputationally, spiritually and financially through the legal system. Even if the system spits you out for ultimately being proven "innocent", the whole years to decades long process will render you spiritually beaten and penniless and dependent in what would otherwise be your golden years. The process itself is the real punishment.

This is why we will see few honest, competent people volunteering for "public service". What sane person would be willing to put themselves and their families through that?

This is why sleazeballs who have been in the swamp for a half-century long like Biden can credibly run for President while you'll get condemned for that jaywalking ticket you got back in the '80s.

Speaking of Biden: So he's decided to adopt Liz Warren's "Accountable Capitalism" and declare that "shareholder capitalism is over". So private corporations are going to be forced to accept board members to represent the interests of "the public" and other special interests instead of the actual owners. Funny, but when I was in econ school, that was called "fascism", the real kind, not the phony kind they accuse Trump of.

And after 4 years of mocking Trump's trade wars, Biden is promising to to exactly the same thing, except I supposed his trade war would be more nuanced, perhaps between naps.

  14. Thought of the day: Considering the size of the Coronavirus, wearing a facemask to stop it is like putting up a chain link fence to keep mosquitoes out of your yard.
Yeah, I know, if the virus is in water molecules, the mask could absorb it.
What happens after 15 minutes or so of your moist breath soaking that mask? Either you start forcing moisture and therefore viruses out with every breath, or you suffocate from lack of oxygen.

  16. @Pat Cummings- If we take it as a given that ANYthing Trump does will piss off the Left and media, then why should it even be a consideration for him anymore? And like you, I sure want to see some major arrests of the real bad guys happening soon.

@M. Mitchell Marmel- I applaud Trump's decision! Not a CENT for Minneapolis! They need to learn that "this is why you can't have nice things."

@Dan- Originally, it looked like Stone was going to catch a (politically motivated) 9-year sentence. 67 isn't that old (it's my own age!), but spending 9 years in a Covid-19 infested facility with father rapers sittin' right there on the bench next to him could have pretty much been a life sentence. Barr talked it down to 40 months, which was more fair since Stone really wasn't as pure as the wind-driven snow. But even so, I don't mind Trump springing him because others (like Clapper, Comey, and Brennan) committed far worse abuses and got away scot-free. For now...

@REM1875- Nope, nothing to see there. Move along, folks, move along...

@NaCly Dog- Who am I to question the Great Plan that has dictated that my role is to make people laugh?

@Bobo the Hobo- I almost admire the brilliant stupidity of Nancy's idea.

@Fish Out of Water- Sadly, lunatics and bad guys aren't kept locked up anymore.

@jpb252- Clinton and Obama opened the cage doors for some spectacularly horrible people. And you're right that no one cared - except for those of us in the peanut gallery.

@Scotty Curtis- DAMN IT! But...you're right! I looked online, and "Uncle Pennybags with a monocle" is considered a good example of the Mandela Effect: in which lots of people believe they remember something that isn't actually the case. That wealthy sonofagun apparently has 20-20 vision!

@Uchuck the Tuchuck- I thought Lazy Limburger was the first guy to fly over the Atlantic Ocean in The Spirit of St. Louis? No, wait...that was "Lucky" somebody.

@TrickyRicky- Yes, those are the little "grace notes" I enjoy working in to my posts.

@Shelly- Pelosi has zero credibility these days. And Trump will NEVER match the commutations and pardons issued by his Democrat predecessors.

@John the Econ- A fine analysis of both issues!

@Geoff King- This is a subject on which we'll have to agree to disagree. Strongly. Masks are important, and the whole "chain link fence" and/or "suffocation" arguments are flat out wrong. And sadly, we'll see nothing like normality (or even a decent "new normal") in this country until nearly 100% of people understand that. Which currently seems like "never."

@Jess- Perhaps we should call him "Joe-mima," because he's just the smiling face on the box of mystery policies these days. Who the Dems will REALLY be running for president (with the assumption that Joe will step down, die, or just get lost in the first couple of weeks in office) will be very interesting to see. And, no doubt, terrifying.

    @Anonymous/NSF- Amen to that!

  19. Masks: Yes, I believe that masks are of limited value, at least in terms of keeping the uninfected from becoming infected. In dry air, the virus will easily make it through mere cloth like a fly through a chain-link fence. The main value in masks is in reducing the ability of the infected to project the virus long distances, especially when they cough or sneeze.

Due to the recent uptick in cases, our county has mandated mask use for indoor public spaces. This has had limited effect on us, because for the last 6 months the public spaces that we've gone to have largely been limited to grocery stores and an occasional jaunt to the Home Depot.

It has been noted that there is an ideological divide on mask use. I do think there is some truth to that, although the media always looking for new divisions to widen does play that up.

My suggestion: If you think wearing a mask is offensive on a political level but are required by your local jurisdiction to wear one, then perhaps you should wear a mask that is also offensive on a political level. Here are a few suggestions:

    Trump 2020
Jeffery Epstein did not kill himself
    There are only two genders
Islam is right about women, homosexuality & slavery - change my mind
    Defund the Left
Planned Parenthood was founded by a white supremacist

Just a few ideas off the top of my head. It would be funny to hear Progressives demand that you remove your mask.

  21. @ John the Econ - Perhaps a Confederate Battle Flag mask? White mask with black letters stating Black Lives Don't Matter? A Gadsden Flag mask? A mask stating White Pride? I am sure that there are many more that the ones we mentioned. Not trying to antagonize anyone here though.
