In a tense world of ever-growing threats, it's good to know that we can still count on unintentional comic relief from New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocarina-Quartets!
The far, far, far Left congresswoman is well known along with Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley for being part of a radical group called "The Squat" which meets, appropriately, in adjoining lady's room stalls.
But acting on her own, the once-and-future bartender recently hosted an online town hall meeting during which she was asked about New York City's sudden and dramatic rise in violent crimes...
"Maybe this has to do with the fact that people aren't paying their rent and are scared to pay their rent," she replied in a sentence only intelligible to Joe Biden. "So they go out and they need to feed their child and they don't have money so...they feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry."
Which would have been a perfectly good answer if Jean Valjean was in the midst of an extended murder spree or if the city was wracked by violent mobs of #BreadLoavesMatter agitators. But because neither of those is the case, it seems more likely that the congresswoman simply pulled the reply from her derriere in order to characterize violent criminals as innocent victims and responsible parents, while not mentioning New York City's defunding of its police force and the city's "catch and release" measures which put criminals back on the streets as quickly as possible.
Both of which policies, we're sure, the congresswoman considers to be the best things since sliced, albeit stolen, bread.

Why do I suspect that most people who riot, steal and murder don't bother themselves with such pedestrian concerns such as paying rent?
ReplyDeleteOf course, @Stilton is right as usual; this is just a standard brainless Progressive response to what is in reality just another symptom of the abject failure of the Progressive agenda. It's like when the doctor hits you on your knee with that little stone hammer to check your reflexes. They can't help it. Besides, they have absolutely no better response to offer.
In fact, most of the insanity going on in America in 2020 is to distract everyone from the fact that locally, nationally, and globally, Progressivism has been a dismal failure. Over the last quarter century, restrained government micromanagement and open markets have lifted more people out of abject poverty than any time in history. Socialist Europe has never really recovered from the the various recessions over the last 20 years. After over 3 years of solid economic growth and the lowest unemployment in history, Trump was set up for a landslide victory in November that would have crushed the Democrats for a generation. Even a global pandemic wasn't enough to stop him. So the left had to up the insanity.
But the fact remains, they offer nothing other than "We're not Trump". And when they do actually offer something, it's more policy like the failed policies of the past, or real Fascism of the sort they they've always accused Trump of.
As for AOC, she's a rare gift. She's too stupid & ignorant to have a filter appropriate to her position. She's transparently honest about the goals and methods of the Progressive agenda. Instead of getting her booted, we should be donating to her campaign to keep her in office and front-and-center. Losing re-election would only result in her being replaced by a more competent far-left Progressive.

ReplyDeleteThe thing with AOC is that she is 'allowed' to make the asinine statements she does. Normally, the representatives all have handlers who keep them in line and minimize the damage they do with their public speaking.
Apparently, AOC is either 'un' or 'under' managed and she gets to the microphone without prompter or advice and then says the dumbest things I have ever heard. Whether these statements are her opinions or just her inability to communicate without making an ass of herself is as yet, unknown but she does it just the same.
You have to wonder if the DNC has decided to let her implode on her own stupidity due to her challenging the authority they hold more than once. Let her sink or swim on her own. It will get even better as we approach November.
I do hope that the Dums keep AOC in the Party. These days, I'll take laughs anywhere I can find them. I'm still waiting for Jeff Foxworthy to put together a comedy stage act based on AOC and her infamous quotes. If he does, he'll be hard-pressed to top Stilton's humor.

In part because of this "caption" of AOC. The cancel culture mob went into attack mode. He probably should not have used his employer's account, but dang, this is spit out your coffee funny. ReplyDeleteI noticed some years ago that for some reason, the Demo_Rats all think all criminals are Jean Valjean. They want to believe that criminals are all just trying to feed their starving sisters. The criminals, if they had any smarts, would go steal from the Demo_Rats. They would get plenty of loot and probably plenty of drugs too. That way, the criminals wouldn't need to fence their loot for money to buy those same drugs. How I loathe the Demo_Rats!

ReplyDelete@Section147 Fully in agreement. I'm more than willing to let the NYC folks fend for themselves. Until they can act in a civil manner, I don't see why we should allow them in civil society. I sure don't want to pay extra taxes to help them (or Mpls, or Seattle, or LA, etc., etc.) rebuild. They want to dance with the devil, let them pay the piper.
