Schrodinger's Poll-Cat
At the time of this writing (after 10:30pm on Tuesday), there's no clear winner of the 2020 Election and a great likelihood that the result may not be known for days. A number of states have adopted bizarre standards for collecting votes by mail, making it theoretically possible that the last, deciding votes won't be counted until 10 days after election day. Which, appropriately for this whole freaking year, falls on a Friday the 13th.
We'll certainly have more to say about election developments as they unfold, but for tonight we're going to bed - taking at least a little satisfaction from the fact that there may not be a clear winner tonight, but there's already a clear loser: the media and pollsters who confidently (and inaccurately) predicted a "blue tidal wave" and an easy landslide victory for Joe Biden. To them we say, "C'mon man!"
Certainly Fox News is an early loser in the election reporting. Dragging calls for Trump, and early jumps to call for Biden (AZ) that then have to be pulled back.
ReplyDeleteWishing President Trump a clear victory and 4 more years. Hope Joe Biden retires and slinks back to his basement bunker permanently. And Kamala is forced to find someone else to leech off of without success.
ReplyDeleteFox news jumped clear past the shark and right over the top of CNN with their coverage. Chris Wallace was auditioning for Slow Joe's WH spokesperson and the Decision Desk Douchebags looked like they were actually on the DNC payroll.
ReplyDeleteYou had a good run, Fox, but you blew all of your credibility in just a few, short hours.
So far, the results are about what I thought they'd be, with the GOP prevailing in a squeaker. What's even more interesting is the House races, with the DNC getting squeezed into narrower and narrower strips on the coasts for the most part...
ReplyDeleteIt does seem the Ditch Mitch effort in Ky has run into it's own ditch.
ReplyDeleteAnd its German theorists like Schordinger, who have made me avoid philosophy like a fresh road kill skunk
It amazes me that no one can see that solution to this tangle is voter ID. It does not disenfranchise voters any more than a driver's license keeps people from driving. Is taking your ballot to a polling place disenfranchising voters? Our public servants must have taken stupid pills or have some other motive for making the whole country vote by mail.
ReplyDelete"C'mon man, get smart!
I am still pondering why the the "news" about the election I watched kept putting up states with ZERO votes reported out of the million or so expected, a ZERO percent of votes for President Trump, ZERO percent reported for buy-dems, and the banner proclaiming buy-dems as the projected winner?
ReplyDeleteAt the same time a I saw that they were showing some states with a large percentage of expected votes as reported with President Trump ahead in some cases by a 2 to 1 lead, and it was "too early to call".
Another thing I noticed is there were instances where buy-dems had fewer of the popular vote yet they declared him as wining the electoral vote for that state. I bet the leftists will not be whining abut that as unfair now when it favors their puppet!
The hypocrisy dwells strong in those people.
Ironclad voter ID.
ReplyDeleteTerm Limits.
That is all.
Almost as well predicted as Jeffery Epstein's suicide, we're half-way through Wednesday with no declared winner and no expectations of having one for the foreseeable future.
ReplyDelete@Pat Cummings, it wasn't just Fox but pretty much all of the media that played that game, priming the outrage machine for what was inevitable.
@Liberty Card, a well-oiled, transparent, and honest voting mechanism is the last thing the left wants, or can afford. Watch what happens next in Pennsylvania to understand why.
We had one cable media that we could trust and that is now gone. We saw a mainstream media covering up a huge corruption scandal about a senile old fool and the tech giants playing hand in glove. We have witnessed an unbelievable fake vote scheme by a political party whose thirst for power knows no bounds. Discovering tens of thousands of ballots in the middle of the night, all for Biden? Do they think we are fools? Rush thinks Trump won and when everything shakes out, he will prevail. I hope the president is relentless in his effort to hold those creeps accountable for their villainy, all the way to the Supreme Court where he will prevail. Kinda explains the vehement opposition to ACB, doesn't it? Of course, the idiots will exclaim, we told you Trump wouldn't let go. I don't care what they say. They have no standing. If a Democrat told me an anvil was about to land on my head, I wouldn't even look up.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Muenster and I watched some episodes of "Alone," and periodically switched to the coverage a few minutes at a time. We both went to bed to read at 10 PM. This was the best election night I've ever spent, and I woke up to pretty much what I expected. Five states leaning Trump (but they still need to count all those 100% for Biden ballots that are still hidden away in car trunks).
ReplyDeleteI may be off by a few numbers, but seems I read that my state (NC) has Trump leading by 97,000, but they still need to count 110,000 ballots. You wanna see a million rednecks descending on Raleigh bearing their AR's and shotguns, just let those 110,000 votes all be for Biden!
Now that we have a SCOTUS that will likely rule constitutionally, perhaps voter ID will now actually happen. I'm also hopeful for some sort of ruling that will once and for all put a stop to this post election vote generation. In my little pea brain, absentee ballots must be postmarked a week before the election, and tallied by election night when the polls close. If you haven't made up you mind a week prior to election day, you're living in a soundproof bubble. Also, none of this "two-three weeks after" bullship. Votes are counted on election night and results posted the next day. In this age of technology, this is NOT an unreasonable goal.
@Fish,
Unfortunately, the ditch Roy Pooper effort in NC also failed. I see 4 more years of shut down businesses.

ReplyDeleteIt was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.
They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.
Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.
It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.
It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.
(later known as when the Saxon began to hate)
Isn't it strange that the last few states states where they are searching car trunks, deserted buildings, and other assorted hiding spots for mail in ballots, with no postmarks or signatures, to be counted for buy-dems will yield the EXACT AMOUNT of required electoral votes to declare Kamel-ho the next "president"? We all know sloe-joe will be either Arknacided or 25th'd before he can really do anything other than wonder why Øbammy summoned him to the White House and isn't there.
ReplyDeleteWill the left be "tolerant" of patriotic Americans IF we were to engage in the same actions toward them for the next four years as they openly showed to us after they steal this election?
One of the purposes of the rioting was to make it perfectly clear to anyone feeling patriotic in a defend the constitution sort of way, that there are two very different kinds of justice in this country.

ReplyDeleteThe Demo_Rats are cheating. There is no way that President Trump could have rallies that drew 1,000 people for each person at a Gropey Joe rally and Joe & the Ho could be winning. We know how they cheat with mail-in ballots in New Jersey because a Demo_Rat operative told us. They are cheating as we speak to elect Kamalatoe, who couldn't poll over 2% during the primaries, as they know Gropey can't fulfill the duties of the office. THE DEMO_RATS ARE CHEATING. Why do we, the people let the Demo_Rats count the votes? Their hero Stalin spelled it out: It's not who votes that count, it's who counts the votes. THE DEMO_RATS ARE CHEATING. THE DEMO_RATS ARE CHEATING. THE DEMO_RATS ARE CHEATING.
@Pat Cummings- I don't know if they were trying extra hard to seem impartial or what. But their coverage was pretty uneven. And how Donna Brazile was on the panel made me want to vomit. I detest that vile woman.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous- Amen to all of that!
@B.C.- I still like Tucker Carlson (I don't always agree with him, but I respect him). And I like Bret Baier, Dana Perino, and a few others. But I don't watch a lot of Fox News these days. And my gosh, how I miss Charles Krauthammer.
@M. Mitchell Marmel- A "squeaker" is right, and it looks like it may remain squeaky for quite awhile. Then again, maybe those squeaks are coming from all the Democratic rats committing vote fraud.
@Liberty Card- Actually, I think EVERYONE can see that the solution to this election mess is voter ID. That's why the Dems adamantly oppose it.
@American Cowboy- I had (and have) the same problems with whatever methods they're using to "call" states. Maybe I'm a numerical moron, but I think when only 3% of the vote is in, you can't reliably predict how the other 97% is going to go.
@TrickyRicky- I agree. Voter ID is absolutely necessary. But the only way term limits will work is if we also apply limits to how long the swamp-dwellers and bureaucrats can stay. Otherwise they'll run the show while the newbies are learning the ropes.
@John the Econ- As of Wednesday night, it looks like you're right about Pennsylvania. There's mischief afoot!
@Shelly- I can't add much to what you've said...and I agree with all of it!
ReplyDelete@Colby Muenster- The flaws and failures of this current election process are blindingly clear. But then again, so was the fake "Russian collusion" story, and the bastards have gotten away with it so far.
@Dan- Great poem. Those on the Left should read it and try...try...to give it some thought.
@American Cowboy- There's no way the Left would put up with our side doing 5% of the crap they get away with. Meaning our resistance will have to be smarter, more subtle, and more effective than simply setting things on fire and crapping on sidewalks.
@SpectreRider- Absolutely. I'm sick to death of reading about riot situations in which police officers are injured but there are "no arrests."
@JustaJeepGuy- Yeah, it really seems like there's some rotten stuff happening now. It will deserve close attention. And maybe liquor.
Anybody else smell something like rotten fish here around this election deal ? And it ain't just a slight whiff neither ......
ReplyDeleteLooking at the county by county election map for my state, The Commonwealth of VA, I see again that for the most part the Commonwealth and its electoral votes are going to Biden, mostly again, on the strength of the 4 "progressive duchies of Northern Virginia. Though I'll have to add surprisingly compared to 2016, other counties that then went Red went Blue this time. And that is puzzling.
ReplyDeleteBut the point of my comment is, and I have harped on this before , is the not-so funny business we are witnessing in the still toss up states would be moot it it were not for the undue weight the heavily urbanized areas play in any national or state-wide election.
This for me goes against what our Constitution was crafted for, which is to protect the small from the tyranny of the large. If this disenfranchisement continues unremedied, Donald Trump may be the one of the last Republican Presidents and we will find ourselves in a one party state supported by an answerable to no one, nomenklatura & apparatchik.
@Fish: When the soap box and ballot box fail... :/
ReplyDeleteWent looking for news on the internet today.
ReplyDeleteAll of the places I checked had no dateline/time on the articles. Many were at the top of the page, but I recognized the stories from yesterday or before.
My wife was reading a magazine (dead tree) article and it was difficult to figure out where the story took place.
What ever happened to dateline-ing stories (e.g. North Burlap MT, Nov 4) and the who, what, when, where, why, how of the story itself.
And get off my lawn.
It's Thursday morning, and we're no closer to a definitive result than we were when I posted yesterday. Sad to think that most turd-world countries do elections more efficiently and with greater integrity than we now do.
ReplyDeleteThis whole notion of "It's 11-o-clock, everyone out of the building!" is completely absurd, especially considering that the entire country is waiting for an answer. Not only does it expose the lack of planning for something that everyone knew was going to happen since last spring, it opens up the window for the kind of fraud that the left swears never takes place. Even if there is no fraud going on, (which we all highly doubt) this engenders the impression that there easily could be, which is the last think this process should tolerate. It leads one the believe that this is by design, which I am sure it is.
At least I can take comfort that in my state, the only "blue wave" that took place was the one that washed the hopes and dreams of Democrats swirling down the toilet bowl. But considering the number of Californians that have been invading my state since the rioting broke out last summer, I have serious doubts that I'll ever see that again in my lifetime.
@Dan,
ReplyDeleteI believe that is technically called "liberal talking points." You no longer need reliable sources either; jsut repeat BS enough times, and the sheeple will believe it. And I agree with your last statement!
@John the Econ,
You can see the cancer spreading from California (and the New York / DC areas) just by looking at the red and blue colors on the map. I remember when Arizona and Montana were solidly red.
A message for all you people trying to escape the failed liberal governments and high taxes in urban rich states, please leave your liberal-ass thinking and voting behind, just like you left your old house behind. The reason conservative states have low taxes and regulations is because they DO NOT vote for liberals who promise free shit.
The libs want to make DC and Puerto Rico states, so they can get 4 more lifetime Democrat Senators. I think we should take states like Wyoming and South Carolina and divide them into multiple smaller states. Wyoming has 23 counties; why not make each county a state?
@ Colby: Yes, yes the legacy borders of our states need redrawing. A example close to home (mine) is to lop off the Nortern Virginia counties and fold them into Maryland. They'd be happier and so would everyone else.
ReplyDeleteAs to the problematic states in this election, why not wipe the whole slate clean, have just 7 more days of campaigning and hold in person voting only.
The cat in the box may be either dead or alive, but it's really pissed off either way.
ReplyDeleteand the first person who decides to check on the cat ...
"put your hand in the box young human."
Paul Atriedes: "What's in the box?"
"Pain".
@ Colby Muenster said...I think we should take states like Wyoming and South Carolina and divide them into multiple smaller states.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100%. In my younger years I spent some time in the two Dakotas. Both are pretty well divided by the Missouri River north to south down the center of each present state.
They should both be split north and south and the two eastern sections renamed EAST Dakota, and the western sections, Dakota. It would reflect the political beliefs and personalities of the two new states more accurately. The eastern half, a bunch of entitled "more free s--t" leftists, and the western half a society of independent, self-sufficient, hardy conservatives.
I got out because the eastern halves were where the main populations were, and they pretty well would override any sane decisions that the western halves wanted.
@Colby Muenster, the thing about Progressives is that they never seem to learn, or ever connect the abject failures of the Progressive agenda with the way they vote. The other problem is that when they do settle in your community, they eventually see the "social injustice" of this or that, and strive to change things. They never seem to be able to understand that they are destroying the very things they came for, like comparative freedom, lower taxes, less government interference, etc. For years now, I've been telling people in my town that I can remember not all that long ago when they used to mock Californians. Today, they vote just like them.
ReplyDeletePuerto Rico Statehood: Won't happen. This seems to come up every 4 years as Democrats pander for votes from Puerto Ricans who don't actually live in Puerto Rico, but in New York. If Puerto Rico were to become a state, Puerto Ricans living there would then be required to pay federal income tax, and all industry there would be required to follow federal law and regulations that they are exempt from now, which would be economically devastating.
Stilt,
ReplyDeleteYou are 100% correct on your statement re: term limits. The unelected bureaucrats would end up running the show. There is another reason I don't like the idea of term limits - I believe it would lead to much greater voter apathy, "I don't have to vote, he or she will be gone in a few years anyway".
Drew458,
Great reference to Frank Herberts' "Dune" book series and also very true.
There’s been a movement on for many years to form a 51st state. The State of Jefferson will be formed from taking counties from the lower part of Oregon and combining them with some counties from Northern California. The new State will allow these conservative areas to be properly represented and taxed more fairly. I like that it will take Electoral College votes from Oregon and California and add two more Senators as well as some Congressional seats .
ReplyDeleteState of Jefferson Home page is here
ReplyDeleteMaria Bartiromo tweeted (I think it was a tweet; I'm not on Twitter, so I can't be sure) that in either Wisconsin or Michigan, at 0400 something like 65,000 ballots suddenly appeared, every one for Gropey Joe. In the other state, over 380,000 ballots magically appeared, every one of those for Gropey Joe. The statistical impossibility of the votes all being for Joe is one thing of which to be suspicious and another thing is that those ballots just suddenly appeared at that time. I have felt for months--ever since the "mail-in ballot plans" were announced--that there were warehouses full of pre-voted-for-Joe ballots that would pop into existence when it looked like the President might just win.
THE DEMO_RATS ARE CHEATING! THE DEMO_RATS ARE CHEATING!! THE DEMO_RATS ARE CHEATING!!! THE DEMO_RATS ARE CHEATING!!!!!!!!!!!!
