SOTU, Nancy?

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, trump, SOTU, Pelosi, postpone, Nathan Phillips, native american, drum, abortion, New York

President Trump has agreed, for now, to postpone his State of the Union address after Speaker of the House Nancy "They're Not Wrinkles, They're Laugh Lines" Pelosi forbade use of the House chamber (where the speech is traditionally given) because of inadequate security personnel during the government shutdown, as well as the fact that on the speech's assigned date, Ms. Pelosi is throwing an "impossible-to-reschedule" Matlock viewing party in her heavily-fortified (by taxpayers) mansion.

There are also unsubstantiated reports which, if true, would be highly disturbing, that Nancy cancelled the speech rather than risking another rebuttal afterwards standing side-by-side with Chuck Schumer, who reportedly takes Viagra to keep from blinking during television appearances.

Nancy additionally brushed off the State of the Union address as "so unimportant" for Americans, who would only be confused by hearing about the myriad successes of the Trump administration, and the highly questionable accomplishments of Democrats.

High on that latter list (and likely high on some kind of illegal drugs) would be the Democrats' abortion-related pieces of legislation in New York. These ghouls have declared that there is a Constitutional right to abortion, that abortions should be freely available up to (and presumably including) a baby's due date, that abortions will not be required to be performed by doctors (no doubt putting some extra cash in the pockets of Benihana chefs), and the removal of all protections previously offered to a baby who survives an abortion attempt. Meaning that a living newborn child who has somehow managed to dodge toxic injections, serrated knives, industrial shop-vacs, and spinning saw blades can still be given the Gallagher watermelon treatment using a giant wooden mallet with no criminal repercussions for the raincoat-wearing "technician."

Ironically, one of the reasons that Democrats like Pelosi are so Hell-bent on flooding our nation with illegal aliens is that they can't figure out why there aren't enough Americans being born to fill all the jobs. Yeah, that's a head-scratcher, alright, albeit one that the Pro-Life kids from Covington High School seem to have unraveled without Andy Griffith's help.

And speaking of Covington High School...

Perhaps it's time for the 800,000 layed off NON-ESSENTIAL government employees to learn a new trade.
Masonry springs to mind. I know where they could get hands on training by building a wall.

Believe Trump caved on this one. The SOTU ought to have been delivered on the Capitol steps or from the Rose Garden.

In another forum, a commenter added to my knowledge by telling me that for many years early on in our republic(1801 to 1913), SOTUS was delivered to Congress as hard copy only.

Still, the coming blue deluge Pelosi will be credited for in 2020 will be more pleasant than slowly sipping a glass of Triple Smoke whiskey.

And NY Cuomo wants to get rid of the Death Penalty for adults. Its ok to slaughter an innocent baby, but Heaven forbid someone who has done heinous crimes be disposed of instead of housing for 20, 30, 40, 50+ years. The Left is absolutely abhorrent.

Stupid Nathan? Im tired of hearing about him. "They havent apologized." What?! They did nothing wrong. And the Bishop of that diocese is throwing those kids under the bus. Rumor has it, he is having a private meeting with the school but no parents, lawyers can be present. This is what we get when we have a liberal Jesuit as Pope. At least my parish Priest wrote that the boys did nothing wrong. And denounced everybody jumping to conclusions. Maybe we can get a new Pope real soon & clean house like President Trump is doing.

New York should be ashamed. Legalized infanticide given a standing ovation in the NY Senate and celebrated by illuminating the Empire State Building in pink. WTF.

There is a day of reckoning coming. When one looks at this example of extreme barbarism, along with the calls by Elizabeth Warren for governmental confiscation of private property, Bolshevik Barbie and others in the People's Revolutionary Democrat Party standing with Maduro as Caracas descends into the 7th circle of hell, the polls showing support among our population for taxing everyone except themselves so they can have free stuff; how can anyone with any inkling of historical context not see we are only a few years from becoming Venezuela ourselves.

Once our experiment in representative government has failed and been dumped in the ashcan, despotism supported by big tech oligarchs unimaginable by Orwell and Huxley will reign far into the future. Look at the unholy alliance of Google and the Chicoms, who have a million citizens in camps because they are not compliant. Also, remember the likes of Bill Ayres stating that it would be acceptable for 20-30 million Americans to die to establish a socialist government here. That is what we are up against people.

Hell, time for some "special" coffee.

@Geoff King- Just make the Wall into a WPA project! Tell the Dems that we're working from FDR's original plans.

@Jim Irre- Pretty sure it's now a deMOBcracy. See what I did there?

@david m gaynor- For some reason, smart people tend to hang out here and say smart things. Remarkable, isn't it? (grin)

@Fish Out of Water- I believe that Trump will give a SOTU somewhere at some time (or burst). And yes, it's my understanding that the SOTU was basically paperwork until TV entered the picture. And gosh, that's worked out great...

@Fred Ciampi- I'd say any individual kernel on a corn cob has a 50% chance of surviving Mr. Phillips' efforts at biting and chewing.

@Jan Blickenstaff- Phillips was obviously the aggressor here, as evidenced by his attempt to interrupt a Catholic mass with his drumming. It's not like an entire church decided to suddenly get up in his face. This whole story is the worst kind of fake news, not just because it's wall-to-wall lies, but because it is intended to ruin innocent lives. I hope to see criminal/civil action taken to punish the guilty.

@Mike- I'm glad you think so. I didn't want to offend anyone with the odious sentiment, but sometimes in comedy you have to go to an extreme to make your point. Smiling at a drummer doesn't make anyone an asshole except in the eyes of idiots.

@AmyH- Make no mistake, the push for wanton murder of the "almost born" and "recently born" will translate directly into policies about euthanasia for the elderly, whether they're willing or not. In the meanwhile, NY disgusts me.

And I agree about Nathan Phillips, and especially agree with your anger at the school officials who want to throw those kids under the bus. I'm glad your parish Priest took a more reasonable tone. It's not like the idea of suspending judgement until you have actual evidence should be complicated.

@jpb252- The Left's desire to prevent executions of killers is due to their belief in the Sanctity of Lifers.

@TrickyRicky- Excuse the living Hell out of me for saying so, but when I saw the spire atop One World Trade Center lit up pink to celebrate infanticide, my first thought was "I should learn how to fly a jet."

And I agree with your other observations. We are heading in a very bad direction.

TrickyRicky said...

@Stilton- Yes, I stand corrected, it was One World Trade Center, not the Empire State Building. I wonder who made the decision to "celebrate" this abomination. Who manages the building? Can this be publicized so that the rational public can voice their displeasure?

Additionally, the show trial arrest this morning, leaked to CNN, of Roger Stone is straight out of the Soviet Union. Who knew how quickly our constitutional republic could be corrupted by eight years of an anti-American socialist president? I suppose it all was preordained by ceding our public schools to progressive agent provocateurs for the last fifty years.

Hell, time to move on from "special" coffee straight into Scotch whiskey.

I've suggested that the President do the SOTU speech on Twitter.

But since we know that the SOTU speech today is really little more than a pep rally for the sitting POTUS, that probably wouldn't do.

I'd suggest holding it somewhere near the southern border with the room filled with the families of victims of illegal immigration who won't be getting paychecks ever again.

And then, let's see Nancy and Chuck rebut that.

New York: This is one reason that I believe that barring some legal definition of when the rights of a citizen vest, that abortion should be left up to the states. If New York wants to be that Mecca, so be it. Personally, I'm lobbying for abortion to be legal up to 975 weeks. Once we're successful implementing that, I'll be pushing for whatever age it is where a kid has to get off their parent's health insurance plan.

Meanwhile, we'll continue to wonder why our kids are such narcissists, cavalier about other people's lives, and end up with guns in schools trying to kill everybody.

Covington: I won't be using that native American veteran's name in print anymore since it's clear that every extra hit on Google fuels his ego. I hope he understands that by the end of the week, his 15 minutes will be over and he'll have to return to his mediocre existence.

Nancy Pelosi is the poster child for term limits. No way in hell did our founders ever dream that someone like her could permanently imbed herself in the government so far away from the constituents she supposedly represents. And not only that, but have so much influence over all of our lives. I'm not usually like this, but if she dropped dead today, I wouldn't mind it one bit.

As far as the New York abortion debacle, I can't even find the words. The fact they could even dream of passing such an abominable law, much less cheer and celebrate it, tells us all we need to know about the Democrat party. It's a shameful exercise.

Communists and Klansmen clash in Greensboro
1979

https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/communists-and-klansmen-clash-in-greensboro

I remember watching videotape of this...it was not the participants that caught my attention, but the obvious difference between the armed (the Communists had brought concealed guns) and the ARMED (the Klansmen knew firearms, several ran to their cars and got their hunting rifles.)... several dead commies and many wounded, no Nazis or Klan hurt.
I see a parallel here... the Left may possess firearms, but like Greensboro if it comes to real armed Antifa-instigated conflict it'll be like they brought a knife to a gunfight.

So there'll now be a 3- week period to accomplish...what?

More to the point I wish to make, I now wonder after all this is done, whether there'll be a significant number of federal employees who have had enough of this and decide leave federal service for the private sector as well as significantly fewer people deciding not to enter federal service.

@Fish Out of Water asked "...I now wonder after all this is done, whether there'll be a significant number of federal employees who have had enough of this and decide leave federal service for the private sector as well as significantly fewer people deciding not to enter federal service.

I seriously doubt it. The pay, security, benefits, and tolerance for incompetency compared to the private sector are just too good. Remember, for the vast majority of these people this was an unscheduled paid vacation. Some may have learned that they should heed the "keep 6 months of savings liquid" for such scenarios, but I doubt there will be a mass exodus from federal employ.

However, what I do hope will happen is a discussion of jobs that the federal government currently handles that it really shouldn't be. The TSA, being the best example that comes to mind. The upside of this shutdown was making it very clear that when the government becomes dysfunctional, the private sector continues to work. There are far too many jobs that are far to important to leave up of the fickle nature of government.

NVRick said...

@Fish Out of Water:
Oh, I don't see any decline in people wanting to "work" for the govt. The little that the majority have to do for their paychecks is incentive enough for most of them.
As for the furloughed "non-essential" drones, if they have any sense, they will put some money away for future vacations, er...layoffs. That way, they can take a nice trip or get some work done around the house, knowing they will get that nice lump of back pay.

Fish Out of Water said...

John the Econ & NVRick: While this may be an extreme outlier case, there's an extremely funny story told to me once by one who came from out of the shadows, and into the private sector.

His dept had an admin who from his account, was an absolute disaster. She would be given a document to input, then bring a hard copy document back for review and edits, but this admin never kept a copy of the source document, or the revised documents, so you might imagine the circus that ensued it trying to get say a Federal Register notice out the way it was supposed to be.

If this person had worked in the private sector, they'd have been gone in 6 months, but being a federal employee... couldn't be fired just for being uber incompetent, so what to do?

The solution was to sing her praises so much so that his dept was approached by another to see if she might transfer over and off the admin went.

For the sportsmen out there. There are still plenty of 5.56 and AR mags out there for sale at reasonable prices. With the fools in the district of criminals at work, first to disappear will be "reasonable prices" soon to be followed by "out there". A wise man will look to the indications of which way the wind blows, and act with a calculating mind.

I cannot get out of my mind the roman spectacle of the room cheering as it was made OK to murder babies within seconds of being born. I am sick to my stomach and heart. I love this country. But, there are some things and people I cannot abide. I love humanity and it's ideals. There are some people I find beyond redemption. If you pray, pray for all of us.

It seems to me that Trump as President, Leader, Businessman & Negotiator is a well-intended patriot and is also always clearly a step of two ahead of Pelosi & Schumer even though they a both too stupid to realize it.

As ABC World News Tonight signed on last night (Friday 25 Jan 2019) the "Journalist/Newsman-my-ass" Anchor David Muir very enthusiastically used these as first three teaser words: PRESIDENT TRUMP CAVES.... That's how long it took me to get over to the remote and turn that SOB off. Muir is just a highly-paid script-reader so I really do wonder who is writing this stuff for ALL of them.

Hmm.
-- Booed God at their convention a few years ago.
-- Cheered effective infanticide.
-- I'm still p.o.'d about them abandoning our promises to the South Vietnamese.
-- Probably on the take from the Mexican cartels to keep the border insecure.
-- Run the most corrupt city governments in the country. (Is there a "Republican machine" running any cities in the US?)
-- Like my plan. Keep my plan. Like my doctor. Keep my doctor.
-- Always seeming to side *against* the U.S.
-- Just general dirtbags.
Naaaah. I don't think I can.

Oh: Just had another thought.
-- If Obamacare was the be-all and end-all to solve the health care problem in the U.S., how come we keep hearing about people without healthcare? Were we being lied to then, or now (or both)?

So let's see if I get this right: The Democrats are now supporting Maduro, either because he's a Communist or because Trump just endorsed his opposition. Maduro is supported by Putin.
