Proving once again that her nitwittery has no limits, AOC has again riled up the Right with a tweet declaring, "the United States is running concentration camps on our southern border, and that is exactly what they are. They are concentration camps."
Far from backing away from this odious statement, AOC has doubled down on the "accuracy" of her tweet by saying that concentration camps weren't the same as death camps. This is pretty much a distinction without a difference, considering the countless WWII prisoners who died agonizing deaths owing to starvation, exhaustion, exposure to the elements, vicious abuse, and an almost complete lack of medical care. All of which occurred under the ever-present threat of being sent to a death camp.
Sometimes, stupidity can be amusing. At other times, it is dangerous and repugnant. This is one of those times.
FROM THE VAULT...
Since potential war with Iran is being talked about a lot, we thought this might be a good time for a quick retrospective to show just how the Ayatollahs got the idea that America could be pushed around.
We begin by going back to 2009, when a people's revolution failed after receiving no support or even encouragement from Iran's best buddy...
Jumping ahead, let's consider Obama's infamous "Iran Deal," which was intended to be the centerpiece of his legacy. And, if war breaks out, it actually may be...
We hope that the tension surrounding Iran ramps down peacefully. But if it doesn't, we would do well to remember who it was that shipped $400 million in cash to Iran in the dark of night, and planted the dangerous idea that the United States would always back down from a challenge.
PROOF OR CONSEQUENCES...
So we filled out our application online and hit the send button. Several weeks passed, at which point we were told by the Social Security Administration that our name had also been "entirely randomly" selected as another possible fraud case. What a crazy and entirely unsuspicious coincidence!
So now, we'll have to make another trip to that bureaucratic hellhole to prove our identity. And this in a country where illegals get free driver's licenses and tax refunds without actually filing. We haven't yet been told when we need to appear before the tribunal, but we've already got a darn good looking birth certificate ready to present...

If we just ignore AOC she'll go away, forgotten forever. Just a mouthpiece for the extreme left is all she is. Turn away.
Looks like the swamp needs more draining, Stilton. As a survivor of a 2 year battle with SSA, you have my sympathies.
I, too, was "randomly selected" for special attention, as my on-line application was initially accepted, and then "flagged" as possible fraud and consequently withdrawn. (I was notified of this withdrawal by letter... allegedly notified anyway. I never got the letter, and since it was an important document requiring a response from me to avoid the withdrawal, it was sent first-class mail. Not "registered" or "certified" or any other available way to have confirmation of my receiving it.) Yadda, yadda, yadda... 6 weeks lost waiting to hear on the status of my application, and 4 additional weeks before the 1st available appointment... application filed.
My reason for writing, though... I went to my appointment with my driver's license, passport, birth certificate, DD214 and other essential "proof of identity". Learned that the SSA no longer considers a birth certificate "valid" ID. All I needed was my driver's license!
AOC? Does anyone care what she says anymore? Are we sure Biden didn't have relations with one of his maids? She very well could have inherited her stunning intellect from Joe.
Would heartily second Sergio. Deprive fire of oxygen and it extinguishes.
Saying that, AOC is the poster child for an educational system that has failed countless students/ now adults and the sad part is these people cannot see how intellectually short-changed they are.
" All I needed was my driver's license!" Unknown
You have hit on Why CA, NY, et al are giving DLs to the illegals. For instance, CA wants to give medicare to the illegals. NO. A DL and they get it from the Feds. This absolutely galls me to no end.
Stilt: Today's blog is super outstanding. You have hit so many important areas. And one of them is that I think President Trump should pull John Kerry's Passport while he is illegally advising Iran, that traitorous SOB, I hope he gets shingles and scratches himself to death. Then, I am beginning to like AOC as she is a poster child for liberals that haven't a clue. Even the folks that voted for her will not admit it.
(It is entirely possible that JK will be the demorat nominee for President.)
Well, Stilt, first of all, sneak into Mexico during the dark of night. Then join one of the caravans and boldly march back across the border into the USofA and you will be given a new ID, a driver's license, a SS card, a nice new VISA card with a gazillion dollars worth of charging power, free medical care, and a nice new luxury apartment to live in. See, wasn't that easy?
As for Iran, at first I was thinking of a nice 50 megaton nuke 3,482 feet over Tehran but I have changed my mind. I think that an EMP over Tehran would be much better. Here's why; An EMP will destroy all electrical devices from power stations to cell phones to all communications including radio etc. Then bedlam will ensue and the problem will take care of itself.
You are in peak form, sir!
Herpes, AOC and Obama: The gifts that keep on giving!
@Fred Ciampi- while I am inclined to agree with your response to Iran, upon further consideration, I think our initial response should be a tad more proportional. A few well placed cruise missiles could take out the AA facility along with a local command and control center or two. I believe that PJDT was serious about not getting our country and armed forces into another drawn out conflict in the middle east. We need to tighten the sanctions significantly, and more importantly put the screws to our Quisling European "allies" to actually honor those sanctions.
The Iranian economy is in free fall, the population is young and fond of western culture and freedom. We can nudge the mullahs, with the threat of more kinetic nudging to follow, and give tacit support to the ensuing uprising without being drawn into a boots-on-the ground quagmire.
Re AOC.... Exhibite "A" for repealing several Amendments regarding the right to vote and substituting one which details stringent qualifications to vote.
Crappy voters elect crappy politicians to rule us.
AOC - and frankly, the entire party of (D) clown car: Idiocracy realized.
@Fred Ciampi: except Cousin Stilt would be shot by the Mexican border guards. They actually take their immigration laws seriously...
That Soetero Birth Certificate is GOLD!!!! Alternately, you could simply call the social security people and say, " Me No speaka Angleesh, you no be rayciss, I sue!" and they will give you whatever you want, no questions asked, most ricky-tick!
I've thought for years that we could solve a LOT of issues in the Muslim Zones by getting handguns to the women. Let them handle the revolution, as they have the most to gain...
James Daily - Much chatter about an 'angel' nomination at the convention, some one to swoop in and rescue the shit show this has become... typically Hillary (Ohh, she can run, w/o actually RUNNING!) or The Mooch... I'm thinking both JeffingK and AlGore make more sense - and that's scary...
EMP is frightening - No power, no water, no fuel, no food - we REALLY need to harden OUR grid, and get rid of the damned Chinese hardware while we're at it...
Alej - At LEAST restrict it to people who actually pay taxes, RIGHT?
Also, in re AOC in particular, someone was saying the other day that she is SO unpopular (60%!) that R's are hoping to flip her district...
Not a fan of 'proportional' response, seems to me that leads to escalation, and the next thing you know, there we are, in another land war in Asia. I think if we DO strike them, we do it HARD - take out as much Navy, Air and land assets as we can, and as much of the IRG, and what ever capitol buildings they have. SPLAT. Would people be somewhat horrified? Sure. Would people quit effing w/ us? I think it likely...
In this case, I'm thinking a 'you broke it, you bought it' policy might be best - get them to cough up $200M of something (I dunno, oil? Uranium? enrichment machines?) to pay for it. Would probably play well internationally, and again, might get them to stop screwing around.
BEST answer remains for the locals to toss the Mullahs out on their fat arses, but as long as one side has all the guns, that seems unlikely...
An observation or maybe more of a question--why is it that sometimes when I post directly from Stilton's Place in email, the cartoon or meme is visible in its entirety and other times it is not? Since I like posting things that friends on the right AND the left can see and read without necessarily clicking on them, it'd be great if the toons were visible in their entirety when posted. With this particular funny, all you can see is AOC's clueless face, no words.
The lefties love AOC. Every time she opens her mouth they gleefully high five each other and say something along the lines of "That'll make those fascist bastards' heads explode!"
There's an idiotic new age magazine (but I repeat myself) locally that is running a quote from AOC on its front cover. I see it when I go into the health food store (why are health food stores dens of whacko propaganda when healthy food is actually sensible??). The quote is pure gibbersih -- I can't begin to guess what it's supposed to mean -- but they're displaying it as proudly and prominenty as if it were divine revelation. It's stomach-turning.
Re: your travails with the SSA. While this may be small comfort, I would suggest that it is a result of mindless algorithms rather than a vast left wing conspiracy targeted at conservatives. IOW, it's an example of Hanlon's Razor: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."
I'm going through the same thing with TSA. I was cleared for Global Entry five years ago. When I applied to renew it, I was informed that I 'was selected' to be re-evaluated, even though I haven't been radicalized or committed any crimes (well, at least I wasn't caught) in the interim. I haven't even posted anything on social media, other than a few family events. I'm not sure what I could have been flagged for, other than subscribing to Stiton's Place... :-)
I wouldn't want to denigrate your earlier work, but if the truth be told, today's post was fantastic... you have "done yourself", (see... I wouldn't want to say OUTdone yourself, because you are so good on a regular basis).
@sergio- You're right that ignoring AOC is the best thing to do, but DANG she makes it hard.
@M. Mitchell Marmel- Hopefully my experience will just be inconvenient rather than a full-on battle. But having just entered the fray, who can tell?
@Unknown- Your experience makes a chill go down my spine. As far as identification goes, Mrs. J was specifically told to bring EVERYTHING, and then they only looked at her driver's license. Even if that proves to be the case for me, I'll be carrying every document I've got "just in case."
@Jim Irre- We shouldn't care what she says, but sadly she carries actual power amongst the Lefties.
@Fish Out of Water- Donald Rumsfeld was once laughed at for saying "we don't know what we don't know." Yet that's exactly the case with AOC and too much of her generation. She graduated cum laude but clueless, even in her area of specialization. We're desperately overdue to rethink the whole college system.
@james daily- You're SO right that a driver's license is more than a driver's license these days. It's the golden ticket to all sorts of goodies, privileges, and (oh, yeah!) voting access. Which is why it's obscene to codify illegals by just giving this stuff away without any kind of vetting.
Regarding Kerry advising Iran on ways to thwart Trump, that horse-faced bastard needs to be thrown into Guantanamo. This is not hyperbole on my part.
@Fred Ciampi- I may follow your plan, assuming I'm able to brush up on my high school Spanish a bit. And I like the EMP idea, other than the fact that I'm terrified of an EMP attack on us. I've been clamoring for the U.S. to harden its grid for a decade now, yet politicians always seem disinterested. We could easily be one blast (or solar flare) away from our nation ceasing to exist.
@fa(s)t runner- Thank you! I always get an extra little surge of energy when I'm genuinely pissed off (grin).
@Fritzchen- That's a Hallmark card sentiment if I ever heard one!
@TrickyRicky- I agree that a proportional response is called for rather than an all out declaration of war. Our long-term successes in that part of the world are very few.
@Alej- Even Nancy Pelosi said that "a glass of water" could get elected in AOC's district. That doesn't speak highly of Pelosi's assessment of voter intelligence...though I have no doubt she's absolutely right.
@Emmentaler Limburger- I'm starting to think that "Idiocracy" needs to become mandatory viewing. As far as my being shot by Mexican border guards, I dare them to try! Well, as long as I'm a thousand miles from the border...
@j- True story: the last time I had to renew my driver's license in person, I was required to look into a viewing machine to take the driving test. At the counter next to mine, a man told the clerk that his wife, the applicant, couldn't read or speak English. The clerk asked "does she know how to drive?" and the husband said "yes." So the clerk skipped the test.
@Geoff King- Funny because it's true.
@Pete (Detroit)- In principle I like the idea of arming Iranian women. In practice, I'm sure most of those guns would end up in the wrong hands. Regarding an "angel" nomination, don't count Hillary out. She is never "not running."
And I like the idea of Iran paying for the drone. Give them 24 hours to send us a pallet with $100 million in cash. After all, we know they have the pallet...
@RAP- I'm not entirely sure what your process is, but I wouldn't think it possible for the words to disappear from that image - it's just a regular JPG with no layers. Where are you posting the images? Are they just getting cropped in a weird way? Mind you, I really appreciate and encourage shares! If you can give me more information, I'll try to see if I can figure out what the problem might be.
@Old Cannonballs- A bunch of Lefties crawled out of the woodwork to say that AOC is absolutely right about her "concentration camps" comment. And the fact that AOC is able to spout gibberish and get away with it is disappointing but not surprising. Look how far Obama got with "Yes We Can."
@CenTexTim- I'm pretty much kidding about thinking I'm a victim of any kind of government conspiracy, and I'm a big believer in Hanlon's Razor. And of course, maybe it's just easier for the SSA and TSA to investigate folks like us because we're law abiding and actually show up for our inquisitions...unlike actual bad guys.
@Brue Bleu- Always glad to hear I done good.
With AOC, one has to remember that her operating system is hard coded upon the concept that being morally right is more important that being factually correct. So when one is attacked for being morally correct but factually incorrect, the only logical response is to double-down on the correct part because the facts are superfluous anyway. So yeah, Trump may be the least effective Nazi ever, but he's a Nazi nonetheless, because he won't close down Obama's concentration camps.
Oh, and remember that we're supposed to be welcoming these people here because they're all escaping places that are actually worse.
Iran: Here's a thought. There's no question that the mullahs in Iran had a much easier (and more profitable) time when Democrats were running the show in Washington. As Trump appears to be sliding easily towards a 2nd term with a good economy and seemingly only whack-a-do opposition coming from the Democrats, could the mullahs be stirring up trouble for the sake of tripping up Trump, by either threatening to start a war, or making Trump look like a wimp for not falling for one?
Social Insecurity: I've been arguing for some time now that it may be more advantageous to simply leave the country, renounce your citizenship, and then re-enter illegally and begin collecting the plethora of benefits the left seems more than happy to hand out to those who haven't been law abiding, hard working natural born citizens.
Off topic, but since it's Friday: Last week in her latest attempt to differentiate herself from her transparently communist rivals, Liz Warren declared herself a "capitalist".
I have no doubt that a DNA test would confirm her 1/1024ths capitalism.
@sergio said "If we just ignore AOC she'll go away, forgotten forever. Just a mouthpiece for the extreme left is all she is. Turn away."
Actually, AOC is (at least partially) a gift. She's a blissfully ignorant yet honest mouthpiece for what the left usually only says in private. Contrary to the hippie-dippy phony socialism that they usually sell, she lays their totalitarian ambitions out in the open, totally unaware of what she'd advocating. That she put down her Green New Deal in writing will be a weapon against the left for a generation.
The danger with AOC is that there will be people who worship and follow her.
@Unknown, so an actual birth certificate is no longer valid, but a drivers license, which most states are now literally giving to literally anybody is?
Amazing. Just more proof to my argument that the left is rendering the concept of "citizenship" pointless.
@Fish Out of Water, AOC is an example of what $300,000 buys, thus proving several of my maxims; "credentialed" is not "educated", and that there is absolutely no correlation between the money spent on education and the results achieved. In fact, if anything there is an inverse relationship. People without money who wish to be educated will find a way to be educated without money. On the other hand, people who get educated just because they have access to the money probably never cared in the first place.
Speaking of my theory on Iran:
Report: Former Obama officials are currently advising Iran on how to counter President Trump
I'll know I'm right if the next thing to happen is for the various Democratic candidates to become hawks on Iran.
Social Insecurity: The Mrs. and I applied for Social Security in 2010. I’m about six weeks older than her, but she applied first. There was no issue about me not applying yet. We both filed on line and were still required to bring in our ORIGANAL Birth Certificates. We are in the small city in California. They were booking appoints only two days out and when got there we only waited about 10 minutes. They had one armed uniformed security person stationed in the waiting area. We had no issues.
If Social Security wants to stop fraud they should start with Millions over age 112 have Social Security numbers. They claim they can’t spare the manpower to investigate that. Some of these numbers are paying into the system, but many, many more are withdrawing from it. How much would they save for each illegal withdraw they shut down?
Anonymous Pete (Detroit) said... EMP is frightening - No power, no water, no fuel, no food - we REALLY need to harden OUR grid, and get rid of the damned Chinese hardware while we're at it...
I agree up to a point. That said I am thankful everyday for my chosen lifestyle. I can do for some time without power as I have a good supply of old style power for lights etc. Water is not a serious concern, unless my standby hand pump well is poisoned. Fuel is relatively easy to deal with as I do not have to depend on fossil fuel powered transportation for almost all that I do. Dunny horse just needs to graze, and a good bait of grain every so often. Food is abundant just outside my door. All I have to do is "harvest" it and fire up the wood stove. I have one of the best alarm systems around in the form of Heeler dog, and enough PDA stored up to last for some time. I am probably one of those self-sufficient cusses that scare so many city dwelling leftists. And that makes my day.
I want to party w/ YOU, Cowboy!
Seriously, good on ya, you're one of the 1/1000 who is able to live off grid. Most of us are slaves to the utilities, and it will get VERY ugly, VERY fast if it goes down. I make a point to refill at 1/2 tank, as that's about enough to get to Amish country... and yeah, I can brew, and shoot - hopefully marketable skills... (brewing w/o power is a challenge, but I've seen it done..)
@ Pete
:-) The only real loss if something like that happened for me, fortunately, is that I couldn't use my old flip phone, and that doen't really bother me because most days it sits on the counter with a dead battery anyway. And I would miss my internet for probably three or four minutes after it went out. Most people just don't understand what I am all about, and that's fine with me. (grin)
Interesting that AOC has been given an official invitation to visit a real concentration camp in Poland.
.
Care to bet she blows it off?
