Hot Topic

No good dystopia can exist without suppression of information. Although frankly, there's not much difference between information being suppressed or simply making people too dumb to understand that information. Hence the importance of...

RESISTANCE IS FRUGAL

"I think he said something about Clan MacGregor..."
These are challenging financial times, and not everyone who wants to be a glamorous member of the Top Secret Constitutionalist Resistance can afford a shortwave radio, a beret, and a trapdoor into a secret basement hideout. Fortunately, it won't cost you a darn thing (not even a new one-hundred dollar bill with Kamala Harris's picture) to grab the real history of the past 12 years before the Liberazis erase it all. Download the easy-to-read PDF files (they're large - about 500mb and 350mb) and enjoy them on your computer, your phone or tablet device, or store them on a thumb drive for future generations of patriots!

I see you've decided to go with lighter humor for Friday, Stilt. :)

I'm afraid that now the Harris/Biden(Obama) administration is in charge then satirical humor is dead. Reality totally outstrips any satire.

Hah! You win the internet today. On the serious side, were I to pick at random, say 50 millenials and ask what they can tell me about Farenheit 451, my guess would be those that could, could be counted on the fingers of one hand. The 🤦‍♂️

Ah, the Pontiac Fahrenheit 451. I think a friend of mine had a red one with a hemi. I think that's how he got hemiroids.

When I first read Fahrenheit 451 at age 13, I said "meh".
When I read it while serving in that crazy asian war, I said "holy shit".
I never thought the books of my youth would come true in my lifetime. Just a few come to mind.
Cry the Beloved Country, 1984, Animal Farm, Atlas Shrugged, and the aforementioned 451.
As we used to say when the monsoon rolled in: "We are totally screwed and tattooed". I should have joined the Air Force.

@M. Mitchell Marmel, @Studebaker Hauk, @TrickyRicky: Excellent! Way to tag the theme... (And extra Snickers to the delay before I recognized M-cubed's pun!)

@Fish Out of Water: That is bad news for every state (foreign and domestic)!

A quote from the link, "As Earthjustice handles coal litigation around the country, the position may entail significant travel."

I certainly hope that in the interest of Earthjustice not proving themselves to be hypocrites, all that significant travel is done using modes of transportation that do not rely on oil, coal, or any other manufactured fuel or vehicles.

A week ago, Climate Change Biden flew home from DC to Delaware on AF1, a 1/2 hour flight from wheels up to wheels down. How could the use of AF1 be environmentally carbon friendly when it likely sat on the tarmac warming up for flight for probably longer than it was in the air?

I would think using Marine 1 helo would be less costly to the environment and the pocketbook, and could land on the Biden mansion estate grounds instead of the airport. C’mon man. If you’re gonna talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk, too! Ride the train, man! Don’t be such a hypocrit.

@Fish (1st post),

More like "Less than or equal to the noses on one face."

@Cowboy,

I'm pretty sure the "death to hydrocarbon fuels" lawyers will be travelling on solar powered airplanes. Anything else would be hypocritical, right?

I unrelated news, Gina Carano is my new favorite celebrity, and I won't be watching The BanjoDeLorean anymore. Once again, a major corporation has proven their willingness to discard half of their customers to appease the other half.

Book Burning: One of the grand ironies of our age is that the more "educated" the smart people claim to be, the more blind they seem to become to the obvious. Today, Lucy presents one of them.

"Cancel Culture" is just the modern version of book burning.

Instead of throwing politically incorrect reading material on a pyre, we have the media, tech giants and corporate America simply deleting the content from their platforms.

At least in the '30s, the brownshirts had to actually show up and show their faces with the books to burn and start the fire. Today they can scan the Internet and report incorrect thought to our corporate overlords anonymously from their parent's basements.

Bobo,

You don't understand the new paradigm - The Bidens', Pelosis', Gores', Kerrys' of the world and innumerable others, Greta Thunberg comes to mind, are far more important than the rest of us proletariat and the rules just don't apply to them. You are to do what you are told to do and nothing else. Don't question their actions or you will be sent to a Re-Education Camp.

Now, get with the program and don't make me report you to the proper authorities. Although a scrap of bread and a pat on the head from my benevolent masters as a reward sounds tempting right now.

@Fish Out of Water, will those Earthjustice be going to China which is currently building coal-fired plants both at home and for other countries at a greater rate that we could possibly decommission ours? Or will they just chase what is left of American industry to China as the left has been doing for a generation?

@American Cowboy, probably just business class. It's not a Kerry-level engagement.

Colby Muenster said "I'm pretty sure the "death to hydrocarbon fuels" lawyers will be travelling on solar powered airplanes. Anything else would be hypocritical, right?

I wish they would. We'd never see them again.

Flying Around the World in a Solar Powered Plane - The journey took a very long time—505 days to fly 26,000 miles (42,000 km) at an average speed of about 45 mph (70 kph)...

Gina Carano: We don't subscribe to Disney+, but I think I'm going to call and cancel anyway.

There are two other stories today, both disturbing and both interconnected.

The first is there will be a roll out soon(?) of a Obama sock puppet president measure on gun control. Given where this is coming from, its contents I believe will be as ghastly/alarming as can be imagined. Never mind that its not the weapon that is a problem, it is the evil/should have been on someone's radar screen person that is the problem.

The second news story is an effort, should the kangaroo court (impeachment) fail, one of the scumbag Senators who only represents a small fraction of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Kaine, is leading to use the 14th Amendment against Trump.

The interconnection is this. "Earthjustice" et. al. feel they have a mandate (hubris?) with the Obama sock puppet president and his minders in power, to ram through the "progressive" agenda. Coupled with this and to help clear the way, the neo-fascists want as the Radical Republicans did in waving the 'Bloody Flag' post-Civil War, to wave the "Bloody" Trump Flag to keep Trump on the front burner and by doing so, bulldoze any opposition or objections to the neo-fascist/"progressives" agenda to Trump and the assaults on the Capitol.

@Readers- Just checking in and waving at everyone in a goofy way! Good comments above and I have nothing cogent to add, other than that every time I hear even a little news, it's one more damn thing for me to be angry about. I'm still working on getting my fractured funny bone to start knitting... (wry grin)

Personally, I hope the WSJ's Peggy Noonan has had to swallow a handful of antacids over the verdict after her latest Swamp-approved diatribe.

But thinking carefully, this has been somewhat of a success for the neo-fascist democrats. TDS is what they wanted and TDS by the freight car they got. But as for a while the Radical Republicans waved the Bloody Shirt for political advantage. TDS, will only go so far.

I've NOT been following major media news for some time but figured I'd check on it Sunday night to see what's doing after "Trump 'Peach II" was settled. Tried ABC TV Sunday night since it was also without David Muir. Result: After about 10 minutes of discontinuous watching: Could not take it any more; Turned it off. Worthless. Worse than that; Trying to be as bad as they can make it. Worthless content / old news / big hype. Not sure when I'll try again.

Fish Out of Water said...

I can't recall the last time I watched a "news" broadcast from any of the rotary dial phone age networks.

John the Econ said...

Can't believe "The People's Cube" hasn't been deplatformed yet. Probably because the Progressives don't realize that it's satire.

Alphabet News: The only TV news I watch anymore is the local news, just to keep up on what's going on in town and to see their guess on tomorrow's weather. Other than for Brit Hume before he retired from doing the traditional evening news broadcast, I could never stomach Fox News. So you can imagine that I've considered all the rest unwatchable for decades now.
