Endorse You Rode In On

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, biden, obama, endorsement
This was even harder for him to say than "radical Islam."
The big moment that virtually no one was waiting for finally happened yesterday, when Barack "Sorry about using all the N95 masks" Obama officially endorsed Joe "Where am I?" Biden for President of the United States.

Obama gave the endorsement in a 12-minute video posted to Joe Biden's Youtube account. Or at least, we're told by media outlets like NPR and CNN that the endorsement was in there somewhere, because we'd rather go into an emergency room and have total strangers cough spittle directly in our face for 12 minutes than spend that much time listening to a skeevy America-hating douchebag that we've already had our fill of.

Biden himself, sequestered at home with padlocks on the outside of his doors, is dividing his time between selecting a female VP candidate ("We need someone with a...um...whatchamacallit. Damn. No, wait! Virginia!") and excitedly trying to catch a bright red dot being projected by a laser pointer scotch-taped to a slow-moving ceiling fan.

Meanwhile, out in the real world (which you may not have recognized since it's wearing a homemade mask)...

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, trump, fauci, coronavirus, covid-19, may day, reopen, lockdown
Tip of the hat to Mrs. J for this one!
There is still an inherent tension between Dr. Anthony Fauci's understandable desire to extend Covid19 lockdown measures, and President Trump's understandable desire to restart the economy before our national house of financial cards collapses. And that's fine - it's a complex issue which isn't going to have a simple answer.

What really concerns us is the mainstream media's ongoing attempts to drive a wedge between the two men, reporting gossip and planting false rumors, just to cause trouble. While this kind of crap is sadly normal in normal times, these are anything but normal times. This sort of juvenile game-playing during a time of severe national medical crisis amounts to attempted sabotage which could cost lives.

Which is why it's more important than ever to ignore the purveyors of fake news and, if at all possible, to try to convince them that plastic laundry bags can be used as personal protective masks.

I only got a brief glimpse of Obama's heartfelt endorsement, on a large enough screen where I could see his eyes dart back and forth as he read the teleprompter!
Nothing says, "This was the best decision of my life" like reading it from a script!

The mainstream media and the Democrats (but I repeat myself) always seem to be auditioning for the road show version of Mean Girls.

There were two recent WSJ OpEds which stand out from the
semi-hysterical coverage of the Wuhan virus. One I believe was called the Death of Liberalism and it occurred to me after reading it, the democratic party hasn't come up with an original thought since FDR- well perhaps JFK, but I have always said its difficult to objectively look at JFK as he is the martyred President.

The other, published yesterday, on another piece of fake news (question: how does fake news differ from a lie?) and at the end saw a descriptor I have yet to see in the past 4 years- the resistance media. Right on the mark to describe the likes of the Confused/Contrived/Convoluted News Network et.al. Have come to believe those who get their information about our nation and the world are cut from the same cloth as those who believe our moon landings were just an elaborate, Hollywood stunt.

Also saw, but didn't read a piece penned by someone who believes a Biden/Cumo ticket will be just the thing to limit President Trump to one term. Granted now that the economy is tanking (for now) a major part of 'why you need to reelect me' is gone , and the democratic cabal, er "leadership" is using the health crisis as a election tool. But as history has shown, its hard to unseat a siting President unless things have gotten very, very bad.

I know I am preaching to the choir here but the resistance media and how the democrats are trying to use the bodies of those who have succumbed the Wuhan virus into political gain is but another reason to remember who the real enemies of our Republic have been, are and will be when it comes time to vote in November.

I think that Ronald McDonald could have given a more sincere endorsement than Bummer O'Bummer.

An endorsement from BO. Oh yes! That'll get my vote ......NOT!

An endorsement from OhBummer might be just the thing some folks on the fence need to vote for Trump.

This week I have sworn off news media, even the Fox opinion shows which I used to watch, such as Tucker and Laura (can no longer abide the preening self-promotion of Hannity). Instead we've been binge watching the series Breaking Bad. Yes, we are a decade late to that game, but it's just about right for these times. One season per day and our outlook is just about right. Which might be what leads me to comment that along with the plastic dry cleaning bags for PPE, the MSM should consider the addition of phosgene gas to help kill the nasty little virus (wink, wink).

I also caught a post on Townhall referencing an Israeli researcher whose analysis of real data, as opposed to modeling, may show that the virus peaks and declines in identical fashion independent of strict quarantine protocols versus laizez-faire policies such as those employed in Sweden. Food for thought. It's time to thoughtfully reopen our economy and let our middle class rebuild their lives.

The Dems put over two dozen candidates up for consideration as presidential possibilities. In short order, all but two were laughed off the primary ballots. Finally, it was clear to the survivors that one of them didn't stand a chance.

Which brings the Dems to the brink of the election cliff. Joe gets the nod. In exchange for his endorsement, Bernie gets more promises from Biden and the party than a Homecoming Queen runner-up from the football team captain. All of the work Sanders has done his entire political career amounts to nothing more than forming up his cadres of Bernie Boys, none of whom will ever vote for Biden.

HILLARY! (reg. TM,) was never asked for her endorsement, was never considered for a position in a Biden administration. Dems see her as a last-gasp option. Her history is poison to the party. Any attempt to put her on the ballot will result in all manner of investigations into the whole of her history, going all the way back to when she was a Goldwater Girl. Too much dark history, too many scandalous rumors. There's a reason the best she was able to do under Obama was Secretary of State, and that was just to get her out of the way. And then she screwed that up with Benghazi.

Endorsements from any of the other past candidates are meaningless. For instance, nothing Beto the Dork says is going to convince anyone to vote for Biden. What to do?

So now, (finally, some would say,) comes that sterling endorsement from Barak ("Not Indicted Yet") Obama. Twelve minutes of stirring oratory from the man who decided that Joe Biden was his best bet for assassination insurance.

So here's where the Dems stand today, as I see it: no vote surge from the Sanders endorsement, none from Obama's endorsement, either, or from any of the losers who are hoping that, by endorsing Biden it might get them an appointment as a Postmaster somewhere.

Only a timely endorsement from HILLARY! (reg. TM) will give "Gropin' Joe" a serious vote bounce, and that will only come with a criminally high price to pay. She is toxic, as poisonous to the party as she has ever been. She didn't run in the primaries because even she saw that no one really wanted her. If the Dems decide to bump Joe in exchange for HILLARY! (reg. TM) they will drive votes to Trump.

Who spilled the beans and told Sleepy Joe the Easter Barry left him a surprise on his YouTube site?

How very daring for Barry to endorse the only remaining candidate!

It's not going to mean much when Moochelle yanks the nomination away from Slow Joe at the convention. (Assuming he doesn't go into permanent vapor-lock before then.)

And Murphy, an endorsement from Hillary! would pretty much put the final nail in Joe's campaign coffin.

I'm still callin' brokered convention, with a candidate and running mate that nobody has voted for. (I'm thinking a Bloomberg / Moochelle ticket.)

John the Econ said...

Obama's endorsement plus $5 still isn't going to get Joe anything at Starbucks.

The best part about Obama's legacy was how quickly most of it evaporated mere months after he was out of office.

As for who Joe chooses as a running mate: I can only hope that his choice is first vetted by a 9-year-old transgendered child, which appears to be the new gold standard in quantifying the quality in Democratic candidates. This might substantiate rumors of his choice of Stacey Abrams. (who still thinks she's governor of Georgia based upon fraudulent ballots that were not counted)

Media Wedgie: As if the credibility of the MSM couldn't be much lower after 3 years of Trump, they seem determined as though it just isn't low enough. So since the real news isn't working for the narrative, they keep working to dredge up more fake news.

And I don't really have anything against Dr. Fauci, but do remember that only a week before Trump instigated his at-the-moment "racist" travel ban, Dr. Fauci was arguing that "This is not a major threat for the people in the United States, and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about." He's no seer. He just made the mistake of believing the lies that the Chinese communists and their puppets at the WHO were feeding him and his fellow experts. So after that spanking, he's now being cautious in the other extreme.

Speaking of Biden & the Fake Media: I think the Babylon Bee nailed it again yesterday when they "reported"...

Medical Experts Confirm Democrats Have Developed Herd Immunity To Sexual Assault Allegations

Once again, the MSM demonstrates that when it comes to allegations of "sexual assault", there are two distinctly different standards of credibility. On one hand, we the baseless assault against Judge Kavanaugh by a women with "recovered" memories and a cadre of friends who all declared that they had absolutely no idea what she was talking about, and neither did she. And then you have the growing list of accusers against the literally touchy-feely Biden.

But for the pièce de résistance of double standard and media delusion, you needed look no farther than the nation's "Newspaper of Record", the New York Times, which tweeted:

No other allegation about sexual assault surfaced in the course of our reporting, nor did any former Biden staff corroborate Reade’s allegation. We found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Biden, beyond hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable.

(emphasis mine)

I'm old enough to remember when the left considered allegations of absolutely anything that made a woman feel "uncomfortable" as actionable, like telling a tasteless joke. Then Bill Clinton happened and the rules changed. (Today, if you're a women in public showers and a strange man with gender issues shows up next to you and you feel "uncomfortable" about it, you're the bigot with the shameful problem)

So if Senile Joe wants to come up for a sniff-n-grope that makes you "uncomfortable", it's no longer part of a "pattern of sexual misconduct" according to The New York Times. As long as you're a Democrat, anyway.

@Mike aka Proof- I TRIED to watch Barry, but I honestly can't stand the sonofabitch and could only hang in for about a minute. And I don't know what finally prompted him to endorse Biden, but you KNOW it's not because he likes or respects him. Clearly there are undercurrents in play.

@M. Mitchell Marmel- I believe that remedy only works when your stool sample is pulled out from under you.

@Sergio- I genuinely thought of writing that, but didn't want to complicate things.

@Dan- It's true!

@ncsercs- Yeah, Barry's "legacy" is nonexistent at this point. But he still needs to get his ass thrown in jail for his part in the election interference and subsequent attempted coup against Trump.

@Bobo the Hobo- Frankly, I'm looking forward to seeing the Democrat convention center packed with people who are "protecting themselves" by wearing Lone Ranger masks.

@REM1875- Oh yeah, Barry just dripped enthusiasm and sincerity (grin).

@Fish Out of Water- Good analysis and comments. And unless things change (certainly a possibility), I think Trump can still run on economic grounds. As we rebuild, do you want someone who has already restored the economy once, or a continuation of the liberal policies that made our economy stagnant even without a pandemic?

@Fred Ciampi- Plus, Ronald would have given us a toy!

@Fritzchen- Barry's endorsement isn't going to have any effect at all; anyone who cares about Obama was already going to vote Democratic no matter who was on the ticket.

@Anonymous- I like your "glass half full" attitude!

@TrickyRicky- Non-spoiler alert: "Breaking Bad" stays excellent up to and including the final episode. I envy your ability to be watching it for a first time! I haven't read the Townhall piece yet, but will. The researcher's result is counter intuitive - but that doesn't mean anything until I read his data. Interesting at the very least!

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Murphy(AZ)- Nice analysis! I agree with all of it.

@Bobo- I'm guessing the same person who told Joe that on Easter morning, there were tootsie rolls hidden in the cat box.

@rickn8or- I'm guessing that the DNC is currently recruiting young staffers with Covid19 to go cough on Joe in hopes of clearing the way for a different candidate at a brokered convention. And the idea of Michelle anywhere on the ballot really frightens me, because voters are now officially idiots.

@John the Econ- Not for the first time, I feel like I should be reading your blog instead of the other way around! Good observations throughout - and a special thanks for pointing me at that Babylon Bee story, which I'd missed. They're officially the funniest site out there these days!

@All: If you haven't yet checked out the Johns Hopkins Global COVID-19 ESRI Dataset, now is a good time. After it loads completely (and it takes a while; there's a lot of data being displayed!), click on the Daily Cases tab at the bottom right. This is despite the rise in testing rates!

Another good one to check out is the tab below the main map display labeled Case/Fatality Ratio. @TrickyRicky: You'll see if you click on the white dot in Sweden that theirs is over 10%, and that's for the whole country. New York's is only around half of that. This is the death-per-capita figure that has been used heretofore to characterize epidemics. (And Utah, where I live, has a 0.79% score in this regard.)

@Fish Out of Water: The WSJ editorial that spoke to me was the one about "Covid Capitalism." Okay, it was mostly about Bernie's tone-deaf regard for capitalism of any kind, but the phrase referring to businesses and concerns that have retooled, reorganized, or rebooted to produce materiel to arm the USA in this fight was the gem of the editorial.

I still would like to see a list of these Covid Capitalist companies we should support as America reopens for business...

Obama described his tenure as president when he said, "politics that too often has been characterized by corruption, carelessness, self-dealing, disinformation, ignorance, and just plain meanness." I think that describes someone who seems to have left the White House as a brand new multi-millionaire.

Fauci is the guy who made it so more money (your tax dollars at work) has been thrown at AIDS research than any other disease. Why he cares so much about that disease to the exclusion of so many others I'll never know. I can guess, but I don't know. He needs to retire.
