Beaches? We Don't Need No Stinking Beaches!

We can't let the 77th Anniversary of the D-Day invasion pass without pausing to give thanks to all who served there and the many who died. Nor will we skip another opportunity to criticize those who have dishonored the day and the dead.

FROM THE VAULT: BEACHES?! WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING BEACHES! (2015)

obama, obama jokes, political, humor, cartoon, conservative, hope n' change, hope and change, stilton jarlsberg, busty ross, d-day, immigration

Saturday marked the 71st anniversary of the historic D-Day invasion...which you'd think would make a pretty darn good topic for Barack Obama's weakly address (and no, that's not a typo). But instead, the president decided to harangue Americans  about June being "Immigrant Heritage Month." Although to be fair, we're sure he'll give equal time to "National Border Security Month" whenever it gets here.

For those with short memories or recent public educations, back in 1944 France had a pretty serious problem with people trampling their borders, speaking a foreign language, and forcing the locals to change their politics, taxes, and culture to accommodate the newly arrived "dreamers" (so-called because they were inspired by Adolph Hitler's "Dreams From My Fatherland"). And believe it or not, back then the United States was against that sort of thing!

But not today. Barack Obama declared that America is actually made stronger by people who trample our borders, speak a foreign language, and are forcing us to change our politics, taxes, and culture.

And according to the president, we can't just celebrate the allegedly rich heritage of illegal immigration, "we have to defend it." Specifically, he mentioned defending it from the evil sieg-heiling Republicans whom he seems to imagine are in cliff-top bunkers mercilessly spraying down machine gun fire at the dreamers bravely storming the bloodsoaked beaches of the Rio Grande.

And just to reinforce his not-so-subtle suggestion that Americans lack any moral authority to regulate immigration, he again spoke of Michelle and his daughters, "some of whose ancestors came here in chains." A thought so sad that it makes Hope n' Change want to send the ladies a reparation check if we can just get an address for one of the five-star luxury hotels they'll be staying in during their European vacation next week.

Barack Obama's choice of the anniversary of D-Day to denigrate Americans and praise our nation's invaders is almost the supreme irony. And we say "almost" only because he managed to top it only 24 hours later.

Because that's when he flew overseas to enjoy beer and sausages with the Germans.

Note: In the commentary above, we unintentionally made it sound like D-Day was an exclusively American operation. As we mark this 71st anniversary, let us also remember the many brave Brits, New Zealanders, Australians, Canadians and Poles who fought and died in Operation Overlord.

A few more years, and D-Day will be as obscure as the Crusades.

Rod said...

@Jess: Not so fast and maybe not obscurity but instead just the opposite. I'm hoping clarity will eventually exist on Obama, Biden, Clinton, Pelosi, Schumer, et al. The list is extensive. But it's probably too much to hope for justice as well. Traitors all, & much more.

Stilton: This was another of your your best zingers. Thank you.

I served my country in combat, so according to the elite left, I am the ultimate sucker or rube. What they believe is just so much steaming horse shit. I believe in a system where justice and mercy reach beyond the grave. Good luck (not really) to those fuckwits.

Ditto to what you said, Rod. Printed out and hanging with my other treasures. Thanks, Stilt.

Sadly, believe commenter Jess may have a point. Saw no programming yesterday (it was in the high 90's outside yesterday) marking the day, though the National Geo and Smithsonian channels reminded viewers again and again that its 'Pride' month.

I hope and pray that it doesn't take civil war/revolution to gain our country back. But if it does .... 'nuff said.

The wurst president indeed. Now he is back for term three. God help us preserve our country and our founding principles. The commies in charge are doing their very best to destroy our history and our heritage.

Living memory of WWII is almost completely gone, which means its anniversaries and symbols are now available for exploitation by narrow ideological interests without fear of offending in significant numbers anyone that matters.

Hence anything the left doesn't like no matter how silly or inconsequential is now the product of Nazis and a Holocaust.

And D-Day will eventually be regarded as just a grand display of cis-masculine toxicity.

We are not worthy of those who died for us.

Are we destined to repeat history because of our lack of due diligence to remember? My parents made damn sure I knew what happened in the 1940's, and I made damn sure my kids knew as well, but the message loses power when told second hand. Today's youth haven't a clue, and they sure don't want to pay attention to an old geezer like me. More important to Tweet or Instagram.

But... hats off to those who bravely stormed the beaches that day. How different might our world be if they had not done so!

Wurst? How about Brat Wurst?

Although I do NOT want to go back to it and some people think I'm old now (they can go stuff it); sometimes, actually often, I wish I were still in positions so show entirely proper & appropriate bias in hiring & letting go. Why: Not a lust for power. I see a lot of very poor situations now; But instead to pass the torch; to improve our companies, our services, our communities, make training easier; improve work place safety, the economy and directly make peoples' lives better. That's even better than voting now. It's much more effective; and there's no cheating.
Here's a sad side-note about one who sadly ran off-track: In the area I live a young HS graduate, GOOD young person, respectful, excellent family; hard working, Eagle Scout, good (awarded) student & more... was working for an outdoor service company and was killed in a solo accident working with some equipment for which I think there must not have been sufficient training nor mentoring & supervision. So many of what used to be really fine and prepared young adults already with a lot of practical education, promise & some experience at that age.... but NOW? Most are not anywhere near being prepared now.

Kamalatoe was shamed into posting a surprisingly decent tweet about Memorial Day, after she posted a moronic "Enjoy the long weekend" first. Perhaps some staffer with maybe a slight sense of history schooled the whore. Maybe the staffer just posted without bothering to tell the witch-with-a-capital-B what went on.

Gropey Joe doesn't have a staffer with any sense--whether of history or anything else--and so he posted a creepy pic of himself and an underage girl in front of an ice cream shop and apparently nobody gave him a dressing-down for his multiple Memorial Day lapses.

@Readers- Fine comments above and, once again, I find myself with too little time (or perhaps too few marbles) to respond properly. But these conversations are doing fine without me!

In 24 hours between June 10 and June 13??? And the mug shots of victims and perps did not look like ultra right wing, proud boy KKK racists types to me unless the KKK is now an equal opportunity employer.

Newsflash: A mass shooting in Savannah Friday night left one person dead and seven others injured, including a toddler. Savannah police held a press conference Saturday afternoon on Friday night's mass shooting on Avery Street. Savannah police Chief Roy Minter said the victims' ages range from 18 months to 33 years old. Two of the victims are in critical condition. The others suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The person killed was 20 years old. Police said officers were called to the 200 block of Avery Street, just off Oglethorpe Avenue, for reports of gunshots fired around 9 p.m. Friday night. We're told three apartments and six cars were hit during the gunfire exchange and police found 60 shell casings at the scene.

Newsflash: Ten people were shot early Saturday morning in an attack in Chatham on the South Side, Chicago police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner has identified Kimfier Miles, 29, as the person killed in the mass shooting. The shooting happened just after 2 a.m. in the 7500-block of South Prairie Avenue, according to CPD.

Newsflash: Police have arrested one suspect and are searching for another after a mass shooting on a crowded downtown Austin Texas left 14 people wounded early Saturday, two of them critically. The Austin Police Department said in a news release that the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force assisted in making the arrest, but it provided no other details other than to say it is continuing to follow up on leads for the suspect still at large. Interim Police Chief Joseph Chacon said the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. on a street packed with bars and barricaded off from vehicle traffic. He said investigators believe it began as a dispute between two parties. Chacon said both suspects are male, but declined to disclose details such as whether both fired shots, saying the investigation was ongoing.

Newsflash in aftermath of San Antonio airport shooting: “The officer in my opinion was a hero today, he saved a lot of lives that could have been lost,” San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus said Thursday. “What we had was the start of an active shooter situation. This guy had a full box of ammunition, he had a .45 caliber handgun, he was shooting in the direction of the terminal and at the officer and behind him indiscriminately.”

“The shooter's name was Joe Gomez? He had a lengthy arrest record? Gomez don't sound like no white nationalist, proud boy, right wing extremist kinda name name to me.”
