Sadly, this may be the end of our last best chance to save the country from financial collapse. The brutal and immediate austerity needed to make things right is likely never going to happen in a system that endlessly borrows money in order to buy self-perpetuating votes. Our political system can no more cut budgets than elephants can fly - it's just not designed for the job.
In the meanwhile, both Trump and Musk are wasting important political energy by attacking each other and the Left is loving it. But of course, they've always been thrilled by kinky relationships.

What will it take for our so-called representatives, who all swore an oath to preserve the Constitution, to actually hold themselves and their actions to that document? We the people could gather with pitchforks and torches and force them to do it but their hearts wouldn't be in it. Personally, I would love to see them all get a sudden attack of conscience, but I won't hold my breath.
It's an expensive pissing contest, but when you're worth billions, it's on television.
Depending upon the other candidates because it might backfire... but an available and sure way to end THIS mess in Congress is we ALL just never vote for a national office incumbent for at least 6 years. Maybe more if they're in a partial term of office. Term limits CAN be applied in several ways. In the Primaries? Don't just sweep up; wash the carpet.

After watching that lying sack of dung newsomlini on the news this morning saying that he and his bunch of useless clowns were doing everything by the letter of the law, and it was TRUMP who created the mess in L.A. over the weekend, as he got more and more agitated by the minute looking like he was going to pop a vein I could believe that Trump and musk might work together to force those morons hand.
Of course I could be wrong, and everything really is going to be flushed this time as the country goes down in flames.
The one thing I do know for a fact, they better not try their s--t in the area of the country I live. There are enough patriots here who regardless of what law-enforcement may say will not put up with the anti-American actions and rhetoric of the insane Marxist left.
Suddenly there are all these Trump -V- Musk stories on the internet. Largely farcebook. Makes me wonder how much is true, and how much is DNC sponsored BS. As Alice o;nce said, "Curiouser and curiousier".
IMHO, the "Big Beautiful Bill" is a big, bad misstep. Big bills is how we got into this $37-trillion and counting disaster in the first place. If I was the POTUS, I'd insist on bills that were line-by-line that Congress would have to vote on. Of course, that will never happen. But I can dream.
The whole Trump/Musk dustup could be an act as a distraction, but with these two, who knows? The grand plan might be to kill time while the DNC continues to self-destruct by offering America more of what it clearly already rejected last November.
And that's not necessarily a good thing. Without a viable opposition, that allows the GOP to be as reckless as the Democrats, which is not good for anybody they claim to represent.
I can't help but wonder if, when that 'Big Beautiful Bill' hits his desk, trump won't come out with a list of all the things that were added later and smoke out some pork. He doesn't have anything to lose, he can't get elected again, but he can use this to make it damned hard for the RINO's adding pork to get another term without being primaried out of existance.
It looks like the dem's contracts with blm and antifa ran out so they're using new groups with the same old faces showing up as the primary instigators, maybe this time they'll actually end up behind bars wondering how they got there and the money they were paid leads directly back to the various NGO's DOGE is trying to shut down.
I'm not surprised Trump and Musk are on the outs. Two very big egos and strong personalities. As the old saying goes, "There's only room for one of us in this here town".

What needs to happen with the riots in LA and elsewhere is to just let them burn themselves out.
As usual, it's all happening in cities and states that reliably and consistently vote democrat so let them have what they voted for until they've had enough to stop voting for that and keep reminding them why it's happening. The dem govt's complain about troops being sent in to assist ? pull them out and let the local gov't handle it, no cause to complain then. Will the liebral voters (who aren't paid by the Demo_Rat party) ever really stop voting for Demo_Rats? I find it highly unlikely because of their views of people. They see people in two main categories: "Oppressors" and "Victims". All white people are oppressors, no matter what (even the white liebral voters) and all others are victims of "the system" whatever that is.
There is a hierarchy of victims, too, and illegal aliens and criminals are at the top of that list. Apparently, all the liebrals read Les Miserables at a young age and they now believe, with messianic fervor, that all criminals are Jean Valjean. That near-religious belief is so ingrained that it is pretty much impossible to change. The liebrals will permit themselves to be murdered by illegals/criminals because of that insane belief and they absolutely hate anyone who tries to awaken them.

I agree with @Oldarmourer. IMHO, it was a strategic error by Trump to send in the military uninvited. It just gives Democrats the "He's invading us!" card to play. The citizens of LA voted for their DEI city administration and their phony governor who'd prefer to see the place burn to the ground than stand up to the wonton criminality that they've encouraged and that now rules the place. Newsom still thinks he's got a shot at being POTUS. Let the rest of the country get a better view of what kind of place the MACa agenda has the the rest of the country.
They're starting to get a little annoyed with their houses burnt and no end to the red tape their 'gov't' is throwing up in front of them so they can't rebuild, so let the rest of the city burn too...their offices, hollywood, the outlying unguarded city and state gov't buildings where the multitude of paperpushers work, then tell them the mayor and governor and most importantly the city councilors and congress critters they voted for flatly refused to do anything to stop it and even denied it was happening, because illegal criminals are more worthy than they are and their families are expendable...then remind them that they were warned over and over again that this is what happens when you vote socialist...THAT would be a good start, a small one, but a start.
