Labored Day

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, labor day
In the time it takes Charlie to wonder if it's safe to say "Quit monkeying around," his co-worker's noggin is chopped off.
We're taking a somewhat relaxed approach to the blog today in part as an early start to Labor Day weekend, but mainly because we're on an anti-allergy medication which is making us even more brain-dead than usual. Then again, maybe it's the "news" itself that's to blame.

Among the allegedly big stories are the ongoing observations of John McCain's death, and catty discussions of who has or hasn't been invited to his funeral. Full disclosure: despite our high profile in the nation's alternate media, we weren't invited to the funeral - perhaps owing to our frequent references to Senator McCain as "chipmunk cheeks."

In Florida, a white gubernatorial candidate with a black opponent (who happens to be a wild-eyed anti-Trump, anti-ICE, Bernie Sanders socialist) is being accused of blatant, howling racism after warning voters "don't monkey this up." Sadly, this is the sort of thing that happens when a politician wants to tell voters "don't f*ck this up" but then tries to ad-lib a more family-friendly word. The lesson, for anyone who needs one, is that it doesn't really matter what you say to or about a liberal - they will be offended.

Almost not in the news, unless you happen to be looking at Fox News under an electron microscope, is the story that Hillary Clinton's infamous private server was very likely hacked by the Chinese, who not only got every one of her emails but actually got her correspondence in real time owing to malware they put on her unprotected computer. Apparently authorities have been aware of this for years, but somehow no public declaration has been made about her compromising every top-secret document she ever laid her claw-like hands on. Unsurprisingly, the FBI has denied any possibility that this could be the case, because serial liar and Clinton butt-plug Peter Strzok says he personally checked it all out and everything was peachy.

In the entertainment industry, the upcoming film "First Man," about Neil Armstrong's amazing journey to the moon, is generating a lot of positive critical buzz...but also a bit of controversy. Why? Because in this socially conscious update, upon reaching the moon, the Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin characters don't put an American flag on the moon.

The scene was deliberately omitted to indicate that the achievement "transcended countries and borders." Or, in the petulant words of Barack Obama regarding other American accomplishments: "you didn't build that."

Frankly, the film now sounds like it transcends our need to see it.

"That's...one...small step...for man...one giant leap...for...obfuscating history."
Enjoy your Labor Day weekend, celebrate safely, and we'll see you back here on Monday!

There’s another movie I won’t be seeing. Happy Labor Day, Stilt. Thanks for all of yours. “Chipmunk cheeks”, indeed. 🤣

No America flag on the moon? Appalling. Oh -- it's for the "world market" I'm sure. I'm surprised they didn't make it a UN flag instead, commie bastards.

Oh, and have a good Labor Day weekend, everyone.

Wow! Andrew Gillum Wasted no time calling Ron DeSantis a racist within 24 hours of the primary election.
No wonder the Democrats are getting all wee wee-d up about gallium being the next Obama.

The news Sarah Palin was told to stay away from the funeral services is disappointing, or as would be said on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, just common.

REM1875 said...

Make sure ya get your funeral invites printed early .......never know when your gonna need em.....
I mean ya could die and people would not know how much ya hated them if ya don't get em printed .....

WHO DOES THIS???.......What sort of mean petty bastard reaches beyond the grave to slap people in the face.......this from a ""great" American ???

Chipmunk Cheeks was always a little nuts anyway.

Politics is rough and tumble and if Andrew Gillum is so delicate, he might want to switch careers.

PvtCharlieSlate said...

Hmmmm ... Gillum sounds like “gallium” ... a metallic element with a low melting point (less than body temperature) ... just like a libtard.

Emmentaler Limburger said...

@Roger Myers: A gentle correction. Gallium is an element - a metal - useful in the manufacture of semiconductors, i particular. Gallum is a sniveling, race-baiting socialist likened to Øbama. Note the contrast: only one of them is good for society.

Did someone important die? Oh. THAT guy. Back to the point about Gallium. Only one is useful. At least now maybe that Judas goat can make make plants grow.

Gallum? I thought you said Gollum...or was that Smeagol?

o, "monkey it up" is now racist?
Better add these words to the taboo list too, then:
Easter Bunny, because jungle bunny
Spearmint Gum, because spear-chucker
Jigsaw, because jigaboo
Garden spade and raccoon go without saying.

P.C. sensitivity is destroying the language!

Fred Ciampi said...

I didn't get invited to songbird mccain's funeral either ... but I'm going anyway. Next spring. First, I will drink a gallon of beer chased with some vintage 'shine, then I will stand over his hole-in-the-ground, and then I will piss on his grave.

I wonder what Admiral McCain said to Nixon to get him to pardon his little boy.

I don't know of a word that a liberal can't turn into a racist one. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I am astounded that you have been considered and honored to be on the same Non-invite list as the Republican Vice Presidential Nominee for 2008! Gee, maybe some day I could be considered for such an honor.

Oh well, I will just have to settle for the honor the GREAT United States of America shows ever year on my Birthday.

You ask what honor?

Well My Saintly Mother went into labor to bless this world with the wonder that is me (Though she made the mistake of having my twin Brother the same time so I must needs share the honors with him as well).

- So to make a long story short (Too Late, Hee Hee Hee) The anniversary of the Labor that brought me into the world is THIS Monday and our Nation has celebrated this moment for decades and has named it Labor Day.

Since I am so unselfish and magnanimous I have generously chosen to share this celebration with the rest of the GREAT United States (and my Brother).

But considering the utter lack of Birthday Presents from the rest of the Nation I may reconsider this decision. Though, that would be almost like admitting that the first decision was wrong. And as my Sainted Father said many times to my Saintly Mother:
"I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken."

Oh well, I guess I will continue to share my Birth celebrations with the rest of the GREAT United States.

Such is the greatness that is I.
It is clear that my only flaw is that I am entirely too humble.

Have a great Me Birth Holiday Weekend!

As for the film, "First Man," you can bet your boopie that I won't be wasting my time/money---especially if the film even hints at boasting Rosie O'Donnell's name in the cast, or Michael Moore in the credits. Not having heard about the flag gaffe until now (Thanks, Stilt), I'll wait a few years until HBO or Amazon Prime offers what may well promise to be yet another POS from Hollyweird, but who knows: maybe it will be graded as a comedy, in which case I can enjoy it with popcorn and a tall Jack Daniels on the rocks.

As for not having been invited to Chipmunk Cheeks' funeral, I'm still fuming. For that snub, he can be assured that I will NOT vote for him in the future.

Laura D said...

Oops. Make that "Gillum," not "Gallum." Still sounds like "Gollum" to me!

A couple random thoughts:

-Who woulda thought that Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork were actually racist?

-Now that McCain is dead he no longer needs to pretend and can feel free to vote Democrat from now on.

Valvenator said...

Despite the lack of the American Flag 'First Man' still won't get an Oscar because the liberals will be upset that Denzel Washington, Samuel L Jackson, Morgan Freeman or Will Smith didn't get a leading role.

TrickyRicky said...

My Dad worked in the aerospace industry for many years, and I am steeped in the lore of space exploration. I had heard some preliminary good buzz about the First Man film. I might have actually gone to see it in the theater, which would have been our first big screen attendance since Gran Torino. Not happening now. Canadian star Ryan Gosling says that the American moon landing “transcended countries and borders,” and that instead of being an American achievement, it was a “human achievement.” Translation, You Didn't Build That. Piss off, eh. Although the U.S. rocket program was in large part based on German technology, think Wernher von Braun, the moon landing was a huge effort, the engineering, blood, sweat and tears and cost borne by this country alone. Roger Chaffee, Ed White and Gus Grissom gave everything for this effort.

I don't see a Russian or Chinese flag on the moon, much less a Maple Leaf. No participation trophy for you, Trudeau wannabe.

rickn8or said...

TrickyRicky, no metric country has put a man on the moon.

And as far as I'm concerned it's "Gollum".

McCain's Funeral: It looks like only Progressives were invited. Is this a surprise? The only thing that gets me is that half of those people considered him a Nazi when it counted and suited their agenda. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

Slapping the Monkey: I refuse to get particularly excited about this. IMHO, it probably wasn't the brightest thing to say considering the environment in which it was said. But since I've been called a racist for far less for pretty much all of my life, I've embraced it. Don't care. As for the Democrat Sandernista, I like when socialist experiments take place far from where I live.

Hillary's Server: The only surprise should be that there is surprise. I'm just impressed that this story saw any light at all, considering the MSM's diligent work at ignoring it.

The other server story that has successfully been snuffed with a pillow:

Former House IT staffer at center of debunked conspiracy theories avoids jail time

Good work, CNN. "Debunked conspiracy theories"? It's pretty tough to "debunk" something that you lacked the curiosity to investigate in the first place. It guess they get to consider it "debunked" because the deep state is letting Awan off the hook.

Never mind the scam being run by the Awan family was at least as bad as Manafort's crimes. Of course, there will be no questioning of the 44 Democrats who let this happen, and continued to pay Awan long after it was public what had happened.

Meanwhile, the Pakistanis now have pretty much all the dirt on the Democratic leadership. Expect Pakistan to become our new best friend the next time the Democrats are in power. What follows that will probably make the Iran deal look like chump change.

First Man: You'd think that by now, Hollywood, which still is largely a commercial venture, would be getting the message: You didn't build that-ism is so 2015. Want more Trump? Because this is how you get more Trump.

America landing (and returning, which was the real trick) people on the moon in such a short time frame was an unprecedented technical and political achievement. It's both sad and ironic that we may never again match an achievement such as this because of the attitude of this movie's directors/producers.

And my Contribution:

Chelsea Manning: Federal Government preparing to ban US whistleblower from Australia

Imagine that. Manning has been barred from entering a former penal colony.

Have a great weekend all!

@Section147- Whatever else one might have thought of McCain, you have to concede he always looked like he was taking acorns back to his nest.

@Dan- I can understand why the filmmakers chose not to include the iconic moment, but I can't forgive them for it. Maybe we did it for all mankind, but that doesn't make it less of an American achievement. The symbolism was and is important: it shows what a free people can accomplish. Too bad that's not a politically correct message to convey to the world anymore.

@Roger Myers- Are there any Republicans who haven't been accused of racism? It gets so old...

@Fish Out of Water- I think McCain disinvited Palin not so much because of herself, but because he wanted to send a signal (well, a finger) to the Tea Party folks who were energized by her addition to McCain's moribund campaign.

@REM1875- That must have been a fun day for McCain, going through a checklist of who is and isn't invited to the funeral. I wonder if he also made out a seating chart?

@Jim Irre- Just a mite.

@Bobo the Hobo- I'm pretty sure it's offensive to socialists to mention "careers"...

@PvtCharlieSlate- The original mercurial disposition.

@Emmentaler Limburger- I think "Gallium" should be called "Liberated-womanun." And I'm pretty sure I don't want to sample any produce which was fertilized by the late Senator. And thanks for the Claritin tip!

@Laura D- The name does have a familiar Ring to it.

@Geoff King- The "I'm offended by that inoffensive word" game could go on endlessly. In fact, it already has.

@Fred Ciampi- Don't drink the beer too far ahead of time - there's likely to be a line.

@MSG Grumpy- By wild coincidence, Monday happens to be the birthday of my twin brother. I guess we know how our parents spent New Year's Eve!

@Alfonso Bedoya- I genuinely hope this flag-snubbing really costs the film at the box office. The filmmakers could easily have sold the idea that this event was for all mankind while still including the flag-raising scene. But no - they're choosing to treat the American flag as offensive, and I say to Hell with them.

@Geoff King- Still, people say they monkey around.

@valvenator- Maybe the Lefties will attend the flick if they hear "it's the Neil movie." (Note: strained Colin Kaepernick joke).

@TrickyRicky- Very well put. We did "build that." American ingenuity is a real thing, and the entire frickin' world should celebrate it.

@rickn8or- Nor has any alien craft landed in a metric country and said "Take me to your liter." That's true - you can look it up on Snopes.

@Alej- Also, ixnay on the gay apparel.

@AmyH- Amazing how many of the greats have their birthday on that date (grin).

@CenTexTim- And isn't "moon" offensive? Shouldn't it be called buttocks or derriere? And there actually IS a way to create working links in these comments, but it's neither automatic nor easy.

Is the never ending string of McCain's funerals over? You would think the Queen of England died. The only good thing about the slavish displays all over the media is it has kept Omarosa, Mueller, Stormy, Cohen, Avanetti and the like off that valuable airtime, at least for awhile. Trump I expected, but when I heard that spiteful little man rejected the only person who injected any chance of winning into his moribund campaign, that was the final straw. Instead he has George W. Bush, whom he despised, and the man who defeated him and rubbed it in his face and who damn near ruined our country, as speakers. Good riddance.

I will not give a penny to that anti American film. They never give up, do they?

Colby Muenster said...

Modern Times... what a good movie, but I haven't seen it for many a decade. I still remember, however, Charlie chasing a woman down the street trying to tighten her hex shaped buttons with two wrenches.

McCain... I don't watch much network TV, but it seems every time I turn it on, there is some Democrat singing the praises of the (choke - cough) "Maverick." the only thing maverick about that guy was his in your face determination to buck every good idea of his own political party.

Moon landing done up Hollyweird style... As a youngster, I was enthralled by everything NASA and wouldn't miss a launch or splashdown. I even named my dog Gus Glenn Alan. In my adult years, I dragged the family to the Kennedy Space Center, and was like a kid in a candy store. I loved "Apollo 13" and "The Right Stuff;" I've watched them many times each. So now, a bunch of California retards made a movie about the first moon landing, but don't want to offend moonbats by putting in the flag of the USA?! I'm pretty sure that the huge amounts of money spent to get those guys to the moon and back all came form US taxpayers. The Canadians didn't put up a penny as far as I know, so there was no friggin' maple leaf on the moon in 1969. Also, as far as I know, every last nut and bolt that went into those ships were made in the USA. The Saturn V did not have Rolls Royce or Toyota engines. Yes, Dr. Von Braun was a German, but became an American citizen in 1955 and was paid by American tax money.

Sheesh!

Done ranting now...

I worked about 5 years with NASA on the mission. It was the best job I ever had and I can assure you that the people working with me did not do it to make a human achievement that transcended countries and borders, we did it to kick the Russians Ass and beat them to the moon. Ryan Gosling and the rest of his liberal associates can go f..k themselves, along with all the other socialist bastards that live in LaLa Land.

I quit watching movies and network television years ago, I suggest all Americans do the same.

As for a modern-day film that captures the labour movement as it is today, I would suggest Terry Gilliam's "Brazil." Central Services does capture that DMV vibe quite well.
