The Return of Tan O'Clock News

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, tan o'clock news, trump, mccainAs recently promised, we've added the "Tan O'Clock News" feature to keep it from being a waste of your time visiting on days when the news is slow or we happen to be afflicted with underproductivity. Hey, it happens to every guy and shouldn't be a cause for shame - right?But seriously, McCain is still dead, the Trump Investigation is still a completely bogus fustercluck, and it's no fun talking about a creepy basement-dwelling whackjob shooting up a videogame tournament (except to possibly wonder if his despicable crime will get him a slightly better cafeteria table in nerd Hell.)Of course, the announcement of a trade agreement with Mexico sent stock prices higher, but that's only "news" because nothing like it ever happened under Obama. Under Trump, it's been going on for over a year now.

So that's why you'r being treated to witty women again. Because we believe in celebrating minds.

EXTRA: DID YOU DO YOUR GOOD DEED DU JOUR?
We sent out a special email recently to alert the Stilton's Place community that one of our own was in need of assistance. For any of you who didn't receive it, the email discussed the physical and fiscal difficulties currently bedeviling (albeit not egg-related) one of our friends who visits the comments section frequently.

If you've got a couple of bucks to spare, or need to do penance for looking at the scantily clad ladies above, we encourage you to visit this GoFundMe page, read the story, and donate if you wish. Even small amounts from a bunch of good people really add up!

And to the many of you have already given generously, we can't thank you enough!

Minor quibble: The stock market has been on an upward trend since the day after the election in November 2016. Obama claims that rise from November 2016 to January 20 2017 as part of his economic recovery, but "he didn't build that".

If you look verrrrry closely, it seems one of the beauties has misplaced her floss! Not that I was looking . . .

And yes, the markets have been on an upward tear for as long as Trump has been in office. But, not to worry! Chuck, Nancy, and the other mal-contents will put a stop to that as soon as they can!

As a long time dental floss rancher I am grateful to see some of my crop being put to good use .. all the sweat has not been wasted.....

...There's news involved? ;-)

Also, much gratitude. You guys are the greatest! <3 <3 <3

You're just continuing the fine tradition of printing all the news that fits on rather small pieces of sheer cloth.

Here's another source of news for your amusement and edification. https://www.nakednews.com/

Re: The Jacksonville shooter. What a surprise, he had known mental issues, was on various psychotropic meds, yet was legally allowed to purchase the gun he used to murder people.
Let's not look at that though, it's much easier to blame the gun.

Slow news day? How about the possibility of a Soros bot becoming governor of Florida?

If you look very closely and intently at these pictures your eye will, at some point, notice that there is sand in every single picture! I was gobsmacked! :-D

Stilt: Your eyesight is still functioning great but I wonder how many pics you sorted thru? Actually, there is some great news that should scare heil out of the Republicans in the Senate and Congress: 9 for 9 in Last Three Weeks! If those foot dragging rascals don't get off the pot, they will have a surprise in Nov. If those elected want to play opposition, we will not vote for a real democrat but stay home and watch Homer or vote and skip that race. The best way to get their mind right is RNC not funding them.

I don't know, I've kind of enjoyed watching even lefties such as the WAPO pile on CNN over the oh-so-sweet-schadenfrude-incucing cluster that the Lanny Davis sourced story about the Trump Tower meeting has produced. Everyone in the world knows it's fake, but they just can't retract it.

But Wait there's more! Even the hero of Watergate, Carl Bernstein, god of journalism has been shown for the partisan hack that he is. I'm almost having too much fun to go to work today.....oh, guess that won't do. We'll still have plenty of popcorn left tonight when I get home.

I love it when they wheel out ole'carl, dust him off and hit "play" and he spouts his famous lines: "this is so much worse than watergate". It also tells me there was a one minute spot that they couldn't sell for a commercial. The media will never know that we hate them even more than they hate Donald. And that's the way it is, walter.

I read McCain's letter, and it was pretty touching actually, but the mention of WALLS jumped off the page like a leapfrog. Just a hunch here, but I'm betting his house in Sedona had walls. You know... to keep out undesirable things like bad weather, scorpions, rattlesnakes, stinging insects, burglars, rapists, and murderers.

@rickn8or,
Well, of course. After all, when the economy started immediately tanking after his election, it was Bush's fault, right?

@M. Mitchell Marmel,
God told us repeatedly in the Bible to help each other, and it is indeed a pleasure and a blessing to do so. I pray the amount raised will be more than sufficient to make sure your little guy is never homeless or hungry.

@James Daily,
The RINOS best wake up and un-RINO themselves. I sent a letter to our esteemed Richard Burr and told him, if he wants to play footsie with the Democrats, he should just change parties and not have to wear a Republican disguise anymore.

Say, there seems to be a cool breeze wafting along the beach in the third frame. Also, still waiting for Busty Ross to make her appearance in the stars and stripes bikini. Labor Day is right around the corner and a good shot of patriotic fervor seems to be in order. How 'bout it, Stilt ?

I just saw a meme of a tweet that said " And just like that the entire media suddenly decided to demand we respect the flag to honor a fallen veteran after they spent the last two years celebrating the NFL flag protesters."
I have issues with how he acted while in the senate but I still wouldn't wish his disease on anyone not even Hillary(she has her own for of cancer called her "ethics") and I am glad his pain is over and I wish his family peace.

While the following does not address the topic of the post (I was going to say something, and then my mind went blank), I was raised to consider "please" and "thank you" to always be appropriate bits of conversation.

I'm one of Mitch's long-standing friends; I see him, on average, about five nights a week online. I'm thus privy to his general state of affairs, both physical and otherwise.

I've helped him out to the extent I can, but I have been greatly impressed with the help that S.J. and you all have given Mitch. It says two positive things about S.J.: (1) that he would think to re-broadcast the request for help, and (2) that he has quite a few fans and followers that would heed the request for help. To all of you, I tip my hat.

Quite a contrast with "Lefty Lucy," isn't it? It's easy to be generous with the mazuma of others. Not so much with your own. You all are one up on her (fictional) self in the compassion stakes.

And now, back to the perusal of the feminine form divine...

I read the page regularly, but rarely (if ever) comment, but if anyone is still feeling generous, mys sister's medical bills have topped $50k and they want to do another procedure but are demanding payment in advance. They need to save at least ONE kidney.

@rickn8or- I think I implied that the stock market has been going up ever since Trump was elected. True confession: I sold off some stocks early in Trump's administration that have since skyrocketed. I was afraid his instability might tank the market so I cashed out of some positions. D'oh!!

@Jim Irre- Flossless tops are considered the norm on many European beaches. And computer screens.

@REM1875- Although you can stop sweating now...

@M. Mitchell Marmel- This is a great group of people. I'm pleased and humbled by the generous turnout on your site.

@McChuck- I always thought NakedNews.com was a great concept, but I must admit the reality (at least in the online trailer) doesn't quite hook me. On the other hand, it beats the hell out of mainstream news media.

@Geoff King- It's a point worth repeating: new and more restrictive gun laws won't help; smart and consistent enforcement of existing gun laws will.

@Fish Out of Water- When I say "slow news day," I don't necessarily mean nothing important is going on. But the nature of the blog is that I need a pretty clearly focused topic to riff on, as opposed to a broad story without a specific "button" I can push. This is one of the reasons that I don't like doing posts on the unending churn of the Mueller investigation. It's like watching a taffy-pulling machine at a State Fair: constantly in motion, but with no clear beginning, middle, or end.

@Phil- Holy cow, you're right! Good catch!

@James Daily- I actually didn't sort through many pictures as I only tossed the ones which wouldn't fit the space. And regarding the midterms, I'm biting my fingernails. A strong showing from the Left could effectively end the Trump experiment, if only by burying him alive in half-baked investigations.

@TrickyRicky- The reason the "fake news" accusations carry so much weight is that outfits like CNN so clearly and frequently keep producing obviously fake news. They are lying whores, one and all.

@Sortahwitte- "Watergate" has really lost its power to shock when compared to the crazy and corrupt shenanigans which have taken place every since. And has Carl Bernstein had ANY big stories since then? Certainly none that I'm aware of.

@Colby Muenster- A lot in McCain's letter was touching and meaningful, but the crack about "walls" was unnecessary and reminds us of some of McCain's less likable qualities.

@Regnad Kcin- I'm not sure if Busty will visit for Labor Day, but she'll certainly be back at some time!

@John Fernau- Well said, both about the Left's hypocrisy and the simple quality of human empathy in not wanting others to suffer.

@NVRick- Mind if I string along?

@EOCostello- Your "Lefty Lucy" point is well taken. Liberals show "empathy" by demanding that someone else pays the bills, while conservatives are more likely to step up to the plate and give out of their own pockets. It's a moral distinction, but also a practical one: donated funds actually go to helping address a problem, while tax-raised funds are diluted to the point of uselessness by layers of bureaucracy.

@Unknown- Your sister has my best wishes, and I just dropped by to make a small donation. I encourage other readers to consider doing the same. I'm so sorry that she's been so afflicted by unaffordable Obamacare.

What would our bathing beauties have to say about this?

ALLEGED MUSLIM EXTREMISTS WHO TRAINED CHILDREN TO CARRY OUT SCHOOL SHOOTINGS HAVE CHARGES DROPPED

I seem to remember that in the not-so-distant past that we actually invaded a foreign country because it was harboring terrorist training camps. But it turns out that if you're running a terrorist training camp in America, (with dead children buried on site, no less) then that's okay. Our nation has been at a perpetual "level orange" since 9/11, but when we actually catch actual would-be terrorists preparing to massacre a large urban hospital, it's catch and release.

SMH.

@John the Econ,

Hillary Clinton endangers the lives of over 300 million US citizens by running State Department emails through an unsecured private server... meh.

Paul Manafort has shady tax returns... LIFE in PRISON!

I hate activist judges, and/or judges who seem to completely lack common sense, or a set of balls.
