Remember me mentioning that I might be making minimal posts from time to time? This is one of those times! And please know that all is well - really! - other than in a time management sense. As some scholar once said: "the hurrier I go, the behinder I get."
But rather than leave this page empty, I'm sharing another ancient cartoon drawn by my Dad, from whom I inherited an appreciation for dark humor. Hopefully you'll enjoy it too!

"No, my last!"
Heh. Remember, it's not the fall that kills you...

It's the sudden stop.
EYEAHHHHHHHH!!!
"There was a guy back on the plane calling out, 'Canopy not connected to rigging!'
I wonder what he meant by that..."
Time enough means you're not doing anything worthwhile.
Love your dad's sense of humor, and we can see that it's hereditary. The nut doesn't fall far from the tree!
The guy with the chute falling says "HEY, you know which card to pull ??"
The guy without a chute going up says "NO, But do you know how to light a gas water heater ??"
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Guy with no chute- “Me, I’m gonna vote for Biden!”
A sure fire way to win the race to the bottom ....
@Al
The guy without a chute going up says "NO, But do you know how to light a gas water heater ??"
LMAO I think you just won the internet for tonight ......Well done !!!
Parachutes are like guns.
If you need one, and you don't have one, you're screwed
When you're skydiving, the only reason to use a parachute is if you're planning on doing it again.
As long as you're checking in, we're glad you're not trying to do more than you can handle. Don't stress yourself out.
I love the cartoon, deserved to have been in Playboy alongside Gahan Wilson. Truly.
Parachuting humor always reminds me of Slim Pickens riding the bomb to it's target in Doctor Strangelove.
1) It's his LAST jump
2) He's enjoying the journey
3) It's not the sudden stop at the end, it's the deceleration trauma that kills ya!
@TrickyRicky:
YEEEEEEEEHAW!!! (Waves cowboy hat)
I always love to see and absorb your dad's humor. Yes, you have quite the legacy. I heard from a little, old schnauzer named Pluto on another blog, that described herself as: I'm in flux right now and riding the wave of life." Good counsel from a sweet dog.
Deceleration Trauma that makes the mess... good post ... great comment
Oh, you bought "the special".
@Readers- Hi folks! Yep, I'm here and all is fine. I just feel like I'm doing one of those plate spinning acts like one used to see on the Ed Sullivan show. Anyone under 60 or so know what I'm talking about? No...? Tough.
And while today's cartoon was really more of a doodle by my Dad, he really should have had cartoons published where people could see them. Although it's nice to give him an audience now!
Spinning plates while juggling chainsaws. Yeah. I hear ya... A really big - Nuts! I cut off my show...
(Shoe, dammit! Shoe! Gads, I hate autocorrect....)
The chute opening is gonna hurt. Biggly. No shoulder and leg straps. Ouch.
The guy with no parachute is analogous to those that vote for democrats and then expect there lives to get better.
I can't remember how many plate-spinning guys I saw on Ed Sullivan way back when. I think the only time I didn't watch Ed Sullivan was when the Beatles were on. I deliberately didn't watch those 3 shows. Even now the only Beatles song I like enough to have a copy of is "Taxman".
Chinese acrobats who climb ladders and spin plates...
David Letterman (back when HE was funny) used to have an occasional segment, "Stupid Human Tricks"
Happened to be watching "And here's Tom, from Minnetonka (or wherever) who can balance a canoe, on his chin... "
Guy came out, dragging a full sized fiberglass canoe.. puts a bar towel in his mouth (draping over his chin, for padding) gets the canoe vertical, lifts in a series of tosses, until he's got it by the end, and sets it on his chin..
GOOD 'stupid human' trick!
MINE is "put the backs of your wrists together, pull your elbows in until they meet. doing this at parties since High School, approx 1 in 15 other people also have hyper extending elbows and can do this...
Okay, this headline from the Babylon Bee is funny all by itself:
Catholics Kneel In Mass Protest, Then Stand, Then Sit, Then Kneel, Then Stand
If you haven't seen the excellent cartoon/humor/meme collector that is Pookie’s Toons on The Right Reasons, it's worth subscribing. Stilton's Place is one of the frequently sampled sources there...
If I had your address I would send you a years subscription to "Cowboys & Indians" magazine That is still their name.
