Merry Christmas 2018
We're taking the day off to enjoy our family, and won't be posting on Wednesday. Best wishes for a merry and meaningful Christmas to all of you wonderful folks who visit Stilton's Place!
Merry Christmas - Right back at ya! Thanks for keeping us enlightened and entertained throughout the year. Good Health and Prosperity to you and yours in the upcoming year!
A very Merry Christmas to you, Stilton, as well as to Mrs J and the family. I wish y'all and all of the frequent visitors to the blog have a wonderful 2019. While I rarely comment here, I never miss a page. Your insight and piercing commentary is a welcome addition to my week. Keep your knives sharp and your mind sharper!
As with my sister Judi, Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" is my favorite movie for this time of year. Although there have been a few remakes of it, my favorite is the 1951 version starring Alistair Sim as Scrooge. It is available for free on YouTube:

They also offer a colorized version of it, but that borders on sacreligion.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of us cheeseheads, starting with Stilton and the Jarlsbergs, and including each and every reader and commenter.
Merry Christmas to you, Stilton, as well as to Mrs. J and the family. And Merry Christmas to all the folks who stop by here whether commenting or just reading.
I love watching Dickens' Carol (Alastair Sim who could use words of over 2 syllables, take a full minute to say one complete sentence which made complete sense)...to Bill Murray's SCROOGED to Kurt Russell's The Christmas Chronicles...not like when there were only 3 channels and the same shows. EVERY YEAR. Now gotta hang on til New Years is done...H N Y!
I guess I, too, will be happy for a while. I got a pint of Apple Pie Shine from a relative. Many tidings to all the board folks. I cannot remember conversing with a greater group and the thoughtful, insightful thinking is outstanding. Now, off to a new year.
Gee M - Thanks for the tip! I was not aware of Kurt's contribution! Will have to look for it, have been a fan since 'The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes'...
@Sortahwitte: Your comment about keeping track of older folks this time of year (made on previous edition, posted 21 Dec) have proved to be valid for a past diving friend. It's not a truly sad thing because she had been severely impacted by Dementia/Alzheimers for several years, had not dived in long time, and has already been missed a lot. Her husband called a few days ago; she passed away on 14 December. And four years ago another very good friends' spouse lost or gave up her struggle with a terrible form of cancer on 13 Dec. So far except for some aging issues, my age 97+ Dad is hanging on pretty well & we watch over him closely.
@Rod and @Sortahwitte: Speaking of keeping track of older folks...
Over the past few years I've realized that, based on the actions of our neighbor up the street and the lady who helps us with housekeeping, my wife and I have become the older folks down at the end of the cul-de-sac.
It's really a blessing to know there's someone to check up on us now and then. Sure, the kids call, (closest is 1,500 miles away), but someone stopping by is truly a blessing.

Merry Christmas everyone.
A very merry Christmas to you and yours, my friend. God's blessing on you and yours.
Scrooged, w/ Bill Murray is also a fave, and was rather fond of the 'new england' set version w/ henry winkler... MUCH better than expected...
Hope everyone had a great CHRISTMAS DAY...
