The Schiff Hits the Fan

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, trump, impeachment, vote, inquiry, schiff, cummings, halloween

On Thursday, the House of Representatives held a big vote to agree upon the rules for proceeding with an impeachment "inquiry" which isn't an actual impeachment and, from the sound of things, won't be much of an inquiry either.

According to the measure, which passed with near universal support from Democrats and universal opposition by Republicans, televised testimony will take place with Democrats asking questions of Democrat-selected (and coached) "witnesses." In the interest of fairness, Republicans can also subpoena witnesses unless the Democrats don't like them or don't want the American people to hear from them.

All in all it's a fake process designed to look like impeachment proceedings, in which President Trump will be not really impeached for committing high crimes of phone etiquette, the charges about which are also phony.

We would call this a kangaroo court, only kangaroos can beat the living stew out of anyone who honks them off, so we won't insult them by comparing them to this mendacious collection of anti-American shitweasels.

We might alternately call this Kabuki theater, only when you insult those guys they sneak up on you quietly (despite their traditional wooden clogs) and then split you down the middle with a samurai sword.

So we'll just call this what it is: a travesty, an attempted coup, and a blatant act of treason committed by an entire political party.

Albeit not one without a sense of humor...

Too soon? We couldn't care less.

Despite our worries, the weather for Halloween night was crisp and dry - perfect, really (although it got cold). So we were able to set up our full complement of inflatables (that purple blob is actually a giant spider eating a life-sized skeleton), psychedelic lights, and music/sound effects.

Fewer kids that previous years, but the ones who showed up were appreciative. Got a few teens without costumes, too - but they were pleasant enough and said "thank you," so good for them. All in all, it was a lovely evening!

Pile of Schiff has no fear of being attacked by zombies - he's proven time and time again he has none.

As for the rest of the DimWits, between 'em ALL they wouldn't have more'n a snacks' worth!

Less than 370 days before the (re)election, I hope I can withstand the crescendo of crapola coming our way!!

How to Impeach a President Without Ever Calling for an Impeachment Resolution:
* Define the process away from the actual definition of impeachment.
* Invent charges or call witnesses who didn't actually witness anything.
* Hold the event in a Star Chamber... er, basement conference room behind locked doors.
* For opposing voices, testimony will be delivered in a Cone of Silence.
* The impeachm... inquiry... circus must be scheduled to last through November 2020.

I'm beginning to think that all the Demo_Rats are secretly working to re-elect President Trump. Everything they're doing is going to backfire on them; they can't be so stupid as to not see that. The Demo_Rats ALWAYS get slapped in the face by the Law Of Unintended Consequences.

No fair .....he was looking for a brain before he died .......

REM1875 said...

So this is like a genuine faux impeachment where they kinda might, sorta catch him for stuff he maybe, might have almost done, possibly if he only would have been really going to do something like this ?
Have I got that right ?

With an impeached judge helping lead this torched and pitchforks mob of " progressives " me wonders if the leadership, if that's the term, has had too much of something, such as Clan Macgregor?

And we the people are paying for all this bullshit! How many homeless veterans could have been helped by putting that money toward their care? I could go on but patriots already understand and liberals will never understand.

OMG that last cartoon is one of a kind. You are a sick man Stilt and how do we catch it?

Rod said...

OH.. and I wonder if they've even thought far enough ahead to realize their "plan" may lead to President Pence; who is not so evil, a more PC fellow; and would also have all the dirt, all the staff, and all the power. Brains? There? Shit for brains.

When this is made into a movie, it will, if there's any justice in this world, be called "Abbott and Costello Meet Elijah Cummings"...

It's rather fitting that they voted to start formal witch hunt proceedings on Halloween.

Poor Elijah Cummings - wants brains to eat, but nothing but Democrats as far as the eye can see. No soup for you today !!

Sorry, I just think the whole 'we won't let your witnesses testify' thing is absurd... if they don't let you call a witness, call a press conference! Heck, that's probably a good idea anyway...

And speaking of reprehensitives in Clowngress, you could have THIS 'working for you'... Warning - it's not a pretty picture..

I keep asking myself how they are getting away with this chicanery. Is the entire populace asleep (aside from a select few)? Is this entertaining to them all? Why are these idiots who keep spouting off that the president is not above the law so able to operate outside and above the law with impunity??

What the hell is wrong with the people of this country?!

We live in a sick, sick country. Graduated as a naive patriot from high school in 1959... sad to have lived through America's devolution.

Axiom: A Man becomes a guerrilla when it's just as comfortable to do so as it is to live under the present system.

"* The impeachm... inquiry... circus must be scheduled to last through November 2020."

And here is the core of this whole farce: To campaign on "Orange Man Bad" at no cost to the Democrat Party. At some point "He can't run for President, he's being investigated is going to ooze its way to the surface like a giant bubble of swamp gas.

The good part is that while the Dems are digging for dirt, they can't be legislating

There is a special place in hell for these unconscionable bastards. May they be tormented for eternity over their efforts to completely and utterly destroy the freedom so many have fought and died for. My loathing of these vile creatures knows no bounds. Don't even get me started on their sycophantic fluffers in the stinking pile of feces formerly known as the media.

Pat Cummings said...

@rickn8or: Hey! That's right!

[shaking pom-poms]* Go Go GO Inquire! Go! Go!

The other good news is that, apparently, it has given new impetus to donations toward our President's re-election. Wonder if switching his official state of residence to Florida will affect the 2020 election, now that he'll he hanging with the chads?

*What? A man can't shake his spouse's pom-poms any more?

John the Econ said...

It's not even a kangaroo court. It is kabuki theater that will go no where, nor is it intended to. It's just a stage for dispensing a solid 12 months of "orange mad bad" to a pliant media. It is also intended to push as much of the Democratic platform off of the front page as possible.

@Fred Ciampi, look at it this way: Every minute Democrats in Congress focus on this nonsense is a minute they're not looking for ways to screw with our lives. This nonsense is almost certainly saving us money.

Colby Muenster said...

If Schiff-ty actually believes he is going to get Trump out of office, he's dumber than a bag of hammers. He's a dickhead, but he isn't stupid. So, yes, this is all aimed at defeating Trump in the court of public opinion, and I think (no, I PRAY) it's going to have the reverse effect.

And what about this Eric Ciaramella dude? Methinks he will soon be outed as the so called whistleblower, and if so, he is an obvious schill for Schiff. Well, obvious to folks that use their brains instead of eating them.

It is my fervent prayer that this turd really is the whistleblower, and it starts the dominoes falling like rain.

@Geoff King,
Go ahead, rub our faces in it! Actually, my state gubmint voted to have year 'round DST (which I prefer as I like to have daylight after I get off work), but we can't do it without an actual act of Congress. So, since Congress is occupied with "more important matters," I'll be adjusting my friggin' clock tomorrow night!

@Rickn8tor, your comment - "He can't run for President, he's being investigated is going to ooze its way to the surface like a giant bubble of swamp gas" can be thoroughly debunked by the fact that the Hildabeast was being investigated while running for president. Of course, we all know it was a fake investigation designed to exonerate her no matter what was found. But it's still a valid argument.

The Democrats did not learn the lesson sent by the voters in November 2016. They continued to throw fake accusations against him, each one followed by a new one when the old one bombed. For almost three years we were bombarded with the Russia Hoax, which when debunked just suddenly went pouf. Now here is this completely bogus impeachment stunt, which will also fail because there's no there there, to quote Peter Strzok. Personally, I'm looking forward to when the Barr/Durham hammers fall and I pray it's sooner rather than later.

@John the Econ: that this mob of sore losers and running dogs of the most unfit, unqualified and unworthy POTUS candidate since Henry Wallace is going nowhere is predicated on one fragile thing; the Republican party maintaining control of the Senate.

Should they not, all bets are off folks.

"I object, your honor! This trial is a travesty. It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham."

JustaJeepGuy said...

I still wonder how many Demo_Rats think that if they can kick President Trump out of the White House then Hitlary will then automatically become president...

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@igor- It's gonna be a LONG slog to that election. But together, we'll make it.

@Pat Cummings- I think you've gotten the essence of this procedure.

@JustaJeepGuy- I certainly hope there's a huge blowback on the Democrats for this.

@REM1875- It never really struck me that Mr. Cummings had a lot going on upstairs. And yes, you understand this ridiculous charade just fine.

@Fish Out of Water- Don't go insulting Clan MacGregor. I think the Dems are high on something else. Maybe weed or just the heady scent of their own steaming bullshit.

@Brie Camembert- I see what you did there!

@Fred Ciampi- Those are the sort of thoughts I have, too. Money straight down the drain while homeless veterans go without. Where the hell are these people's priorities?

@Rod- Well, I've never been quite right in the head. But with work and discipline, I can pass myself off as funny rather than certifiable. Usually. And yeah, if the Dems get rid of Trump, they'll have President Pence to deal with. But why not fake charges and a fake impeachment against him too? If this tactic works once, they'll never stop.

@M. Mitchell Marmel- I'd actually watch that...

@jpb252- That irony wasn't lost on me.

@Anonymous- I almost (but not quite) feel sorry for Zombie Elijah.

@Pete (Detroit)- Yeah, a "trial" with no possible defense doesn't seem quite kosher. And is a dimwit Dem congresswoman dressing as Batwoman anymore demeaning to this body than Adam Schiff's "parody" patchwork of lies? I don't think there's any dignity to protect anymore.

@Emmentaler Limburger- I think the problem is that most people aren't paying attention, added to the fact that Democrat messaging is set up to A) make people feel good about being intolerant and B) promise free shit. People LIKE those things so don't want to discover that they're lies.

@Geoff King- Shoot me now. I HATE the time change! I would have spent all of today's blog bitching about it if it weren't for bigger news.

@Alej- The "American Devolution" is sure what it looks like from here.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@rickn8or- Good assessment.

@TrickRicky- I not only like what you said, I like the way you said it.

@Pat Cummings- I'm sure as hell ready to donate to Trump's campaign. And I think Trump relocating from New York is hilarious. And he's right - the people who used to try to curry his favor are now backstabbing him, so he should take his tax money elsewhere.

@John the Econ- Exactly. Despite the misleading labeling, this "process" isn't any kind of real thing at all. Regarding the Dems not doing any actual legislating, that really IS the glass half full.

@Grana- I'd bet that 80-90% of Dems today don't know that Bill Clinton was impeached, as they think it's synonymous with being removed from office.

@Colby Muenster- Schiff knows damn well that his circus can't really get rid of Trump through process, but it just might damage him enough in the public eye to make him lose the election. I, too, am hoping for a backlash against the Dems.

@Shelly- I'm so tired of hearing that the Barr/Durham fireworks are about to start. START them already!

@Fish Out of Water- If the Dems take the Senate, I'm heading into my bunker.

@rickn8or- Does "Magic D" stand for Demonically-possessed?

@Mark Matic- Just looking at Schiff, you can tell he's the sort of guy who would have made a great and enthusiastic Nazi. Not doing the dirty work himself, but happily ordering others to commit atrocities.

@DougM- Who am I to argue with Fielding Mellish?

@JustaJeepGuy- You mean how many believe that besides Hillary?

Pat Cummings said...

@Stilt: Your comment to someone else—It never really struck me that Mr. Cummings had a lot going on upstairs. And yes, you understand this ridiculous charade just fine—followed shortly after your comment to me.

Perhaps you could include his title when referring to the late unlamented "Mr. Cummings" so no one thinks you're disparaging my mental faculties:

"Zombie Mr. Cummings."

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Pat Cummings- Ha! Sorry about that! For the record, I was not and will not refer to Pat Cummings in anything other than glowing terms, mental acuity-wise. Rather than casting a pejorative at "Mr. Cummings" I should have referred to "that asshole Elijah."

John the Econ said...

Totally unrelated to the current topic, but I know this vile hypocrite of a woman is a favorite in this room:

Michelle Obama on white flight: 'Y'all were running from us'

Speaking at the annual Obama Foundation summit, she spoke of how white families moved out of the neighbourhood on the South Side of Chicago where she grew up, as families like hers moved in - likening the situation to that facing immigrant families now.

And where does Mrs. Obama live today? Martha’s Vineyard, Kalorama, Hawaii, Hollywood Hills. Tell me again just who's running from their old neighborhood on the south side. If I leave, it's because I'm a racist. When she left, it was just movin' on up.

And here's some added irony: If I were to move into one of these neighborhoods that white people have supposedly fled today, then I'd be evil because I'd be accused of gentrifying the place which would eventually force the poor, colored people out.

And never mind the fact that the Obamas are working to steal a park from their own neighborhood in order to build a monument to their egos.

rickn8or said...

Moochelle, in 2008 I wasn't afraid to live in a black neighborhood, nor go unarmed in public.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@John the Econ- Hypocrisy, thy name is Michelle. I'm beyond sick of hearing about the "struggle" of this woman - born into wealth and privilege, writing a college thesis on how white people made her feel uncomfortable when they were nice to her, given a $300k do nothing job, then made First Lady of the United States. And how the hell does any of this relate to "immigrant families" which, I assume from the context, are actually illegal immigrants? To hell with her and Barry.

@rickn8or- But in 2008, we were visited by No Hope and Change.
