Poll Driven

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, pa, RNC, convention, steering wheel, trump
To be completely truthful, I again didn't have time to create much in the way of an original post today, which is why I defaulted to another one of my Dad's doodled cartoons (expect to see more of this happening for awhile).

But you know, it's not really a bad metaphor for what Trump and the Republicans are doing to the Democrats during the televised RNC Convention. The Dems spent their time talking about what a horrible, racist, xenophobic, fascist nightmare our country is...and Trump and company are taking that message and shoving it up their assumptions.

I haven't been able to watch much of the convention, but Mrs. J - with her various bandages, braces, and slings - is relegated to sitting in a chair and watching the news whether she likes it or not. Rather like Alex DeLarge in "A Clockwork Orange," whose eyes are wedged open so he can't look away from whatever's onscreen.

Happily, rather than Nazi atrocities, what she's seeing is a parade of people who are celebrating America and talking about how their lives have improved during the Trump administration. People of all races and backgrounds who want nothing to do with the socialist fantasies of the Left, and are citing their own life stories as proof that the American Dream is actually a lot more than just a dream. It's a reality, and a path to achievement for everyone which exists nowhere else in the world.

It would be very easy to simply vote against the Democrats and everything they stand for. And I'd do it in a heartbeat. But the RNC convention reminds us that we're fortunate enough to actually vote FOR something this time around. Something noble, inspirational, and worth preserving.

Whether or not someone loves Trump isn't really the main question for voters this November. It's whether they love America - her ideals, her Constitution, her freedoms, and her opportunities for all. That's what's on the line. And should the Left win, their reign will be a much greater pain in the rear end than that suffered by the poor guy in today's cartoon.

I found this countdown clock, it helps ease the pain. I can actually watch the minutes and seconds go by until (I hope) the Republicans will restore our country to sane glory:

By the way, am I wrong for wanting looters to be shot? I am getting a lot of flack for that one particular opinion.

For me, the main decision for nearly everyone is to look at their pocket books, their families and their economic reality. THEIR reality, not politics. Then decide who has the better chance of fixing what is now hamstrung. Will Biden and the Democratic model work ? Or is Trump's plan better ? Pick the one better, because next year if not sooner, Life becomes even more real.

'We get one chance at this' has never been more real than November 2020. Make sure you vote.

I remember fondly the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles back in the dark ages. The usual suspects were out in force burning and looting to protest King's treatment by LAPD. After leaving their own neighborhoods and the stores where they shopped hors de combat, they moved on to the nearest minority neighborhoods. Unfortunately for them, those included a largely Korean district, where the store owners were perched on the roofs of their shops (and homes) armed with AR-15s and plenty of ammunition. Time to go home, grumble, consume the beer you looted and watch the TVs you stole.

@fred ciampi Your comment makes me think of the Old Dirty Harry line "There's nothing wrong with shooting as long as the right people get shot." I don't want there to be any random fire going on in crowds. If there is shooting it MUST be directed at only the ones truly threatening someone with serious bodily harm. It's either that or we descend to their level.

Reminds me of when as a Corpsman with the Marines I would have to explain what the Dr just told them.......With suppositories I would have to explain that what the Dr told them was in simple English " tear the tin foil off and shove the thing inside the tinfoil up your ass"

Yes it appears eating them or shoving them up your ass with the tinfoil on did not allow
them to work.........

and yes ....True story .... and not a "no shit this really happened to me" (the military version of the fairy tale "once upon a time ...") .... or the brian williams "I was
there"...

@Fred C. It seems to me that the mayors/governors need to specify what constitutes a 'peaceful protest'. In my world that would be daylight hours and not on the freeways or major thoroughfares and not on the steps leading to any public building, statue, fountain, etc. When the sun goes down if you are still on the streets, you are fair game for the snipers we are posting on the rooftops. They will be targeting anyone with a bullhorn, any kind of weapon or anyone screaming a slogan that the rest of the mob can respond to.

Wow... I just hope you can convince Mrs. J to still long enough to heal. My wife, Mrs. Monger, with similar maladies has a good day, feels strong, forgets she has an injury, then goes out to play in the yard with flowers and such, and is in immense pain the next day. She cannot sit still long enough to let the healing process take place. As we are retired, it's okay to do that I guess, but she causes herself so much pain that to me it's not worth it. But this isn't about me... it's my Bonnie redheaded lass who refuses to stay still for a period long enough to heal properly. I yell at her, but as a typical Irish woman, she pays me no heed... never has, never will...LOL.

Praying for a swift recovery for Mrs. J and good insight as to what she sees on the telly.

As always, stay safe, stay healthy, and keep sticking it to the establishment.

Peace be with you... we're out for now.

Seems very plain to me BLM has metastasized and has now cells in name your City, waiting for an excuse to riot.

Wasn't aware until today that a bunch of them trespassed into an eatery in DC and demanded the white patrons raise their fists on some meaningless show of solidarity.

Now someone please explain the difference between BLM and the Nazi Brownshirts?

@Fish: If the Schwarzelebenzählen or Antifaschistinnen try marching down my street, they'll be leaving in body bags. Selah.

@Fish Out of Water - My daughter saw those videos of people being harassed in restaurants and immediately ordered pepper spray online. She said if one of those idiots tries that with her, he/she/it is going to get a face full of it.

As to the RNC, it is a breath of fresh air compared to the DNC where they rolled out all the old fossils (John Kerry, really?) and celebrities trying unsuccessfully to be funny, all singing the same old untruthful tune, bleak and dark. Bill Clinton saying Trump defiles the Oval Office is a good one. When Pervert Joe started his much vaunted 22 minute speech wherein he managed to get out all the right words, with the Charlottesville lie, I really could not believe my eyes and ears. It's been thoroughly debunked and that's all he has?

Pretty much on purpose but with time & place having a bit to do with it; the only speaker I've watched from either convention was Melania Trump. As said before: She brings the class to that act. I like how she declined to be critical of anyone because that was divisive, but readily admitted her husband was very transparent with his opinions. That was said with a grin on her face. It's no surprise the media doesn't cover her more; and when they do it's childishly snitty of them. She makes them look & sound even more ridiculous.

@Fred Ciampi In the old days out in the country, rowdy kids would be shot with a shotgun filled with rock salt. My county cousins told me that it burns until it’s all gone. Looters could be shot with the same or maybe bird shot as neither should be fatal. In close quarters, one can use Wasp and Hornet Spray as well as Pepper Spray.

@FishOoW --
There are, most likely, cells of BLM and AntiFa (and other) in most major cities, especially those controlled by the Democrat machines. Dollar to a donut they're well supplied and coordinated. This destruction and these multiple riots and destruction are just a dress rehearsal for November onward given Trump is reelected.

The riots in '68 were coordinated, and I'm pretty sure they've just gotten better at coordination: command, control, communications and intelligence.
Looks like their logistics have gotten better, too -- get mobs from one town to another; obtain, distribute and preposition assault materials such as bricks, frozen water bottles, lasers, pyrotechnics, etc.; make various riot cells aware of law enforcement locations and movement.
Probably quite a bit of election interference will be perpetrated as well.

The bad guys need to be swept up, kept in confinement until trial, and sentenced severely. If possible with Federal charges (they did it with the Klan). RICO the appropriate organizations/organizers.

I also wonder if there's a way to bring charges against the mayors and governors who are failing to bring order to the streets. Same for district attorneys or equivalents who dismiss the charges against the rioters.

@REM1875,

What's the difference between a fairy tale and a sea story? A fairy tale begins "Once upon a time..." and a sea story begins "This is no shit..."

@Dan,

Those mayors and governors should be charged with dereliction of duty, but the only thing happening is (maybe) a couple recall attempts. The taxpaying voters should be demanding the resignation of the "officials" who are apparently not unhappy with the rioting/looting/pillaging/plundering going on.

Regarding the proper application of the long-distance drill effect, someone somewhere should pre-emptively shatter the bottles of anyone preparing to throw a Molotov cocktail. Break the glass, the gas goes----where? That might stop someone from wanting to throw one.

@Readers- It's good to see lively conversation going on here without me. All is fine on the home front, but there's always another chore that needs doing (I'm putting off emptying the dishwasher while writing this). @FM. I was "liberating" some watermelons. High School know-it-alls. Shot from the direction of my feet while laying on the ground. Both beautocks and several skim marks on my back. I still love watermelon, but I will gladly pay what is asked. However, the ability to low crawl with a 40 pound watermelon in your arms came in handy when I served in the USMC.

Wonderful tenor (not Pavarotti) singing Nessun dorma at the end of Trump's speech and subsequent fireworks show that capped the RNC tonight. Anyone know the name of the performer?

Alfonso Bedoya said...

@ Fred Ciampi, who said, "By the way, am I wrong for wanting looters to be shot?"

Yes, Fred. We must all take into account that the looters have been traumatized by a systemic racist society that values the Constitution, and law-and-order more than the right to peacefully riot and commit peaceful chaos. After all, the police have a history of treating lawbreakers in the past by being mean to them, arresting them, and allowing the racist legal system to put the guilty ones in racist jails or prisons. The alleged criminals really want nothing more than to live in harmony with us ordinary racist people, but our evil, systemically racist Capitalist system won't let them, and it's our fault.

You can help by sending your unused ammunition in either .308,.556, .223 or .300 Blackout to me for proper disposal during the next peaceful riot. 30-round magazines will also be accepted, as will bags of rock salt. Bernie Sanders and Nancy Pelosi have approved of this message.

Fred Ciampi said...

Alfonso, OK, I'm, sending you all my extra ammo. You'll be getting some .22. .223. 7.62X54R, .45, 9MM, 30 cal, 7.62 X 39, 9MM X 18, 9MM X 21, .270, and about 50 pounds of Thermite. Would you also like the Claymores and M60 hand grenades? If you need anything else just place your order........ Moonshine perhaps?

JustaJeepGuy said...

I'd send my excess ammo too but I have never had any.
