Moan-ivational Posters

There comes a time in life when we feel the importance of giving back to younger generations and sharing the hard-won wisdom we've accrued over decades of experience.

And for us, that time came yesterday when we had an hour to kill and nothing to entertain ourselves with other than an iPad and an app designed to make motivational memes.

The app comes complete with a number of iconic, tasteful images which can easily be paired with genuinely inspirational quotes.

Or not - which is the direction we took...

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, moanivational posters, moan-ivational

Feel free to print these and hang them on your walls for inspiration. Better still, print them and hang them on the walls of those who deserve to be confused and depressed!

Okay, the sparrow one is particularly good. A keeper for my wall, lol.

My contribution (or "detraction", depending...) was inspired by "Why is Canada Dry wet?", a Steven Wright joke from yeeeeeeeears ago (about 20-25, maybe more).

Happy Hump Day! (And why is Wednesday "Hump Day", when most people get laid on the weekends? - Another of my favorites from "some comedy show from days gone by".)

And don't forget these jewels;

... When fish are in schools, they sometimes take debate.

... A thief who stole a calendar got twelve months.

... When the smog lifts in Los Angeles U.C.L.A.

... The batteries were given out free of charge.

... A dentist and a manicurist married. They fought tooth and nail.

... A will is a dead giveaway.

... With her marriage, she got a new name and a dress.

... A boiled egg is hard to beat.

... When you've seen one shopping center you've seen a mall.

... Did you hear about the fellow whose entire left side was cut off? He's
all right now.

... A bicycle can't stand alone; it's just two tired.

... The guy who fell onto an upholstery machine is now fully recovered.

... He had a photographic memory which was never developed.

... When she saw her first strands of grey hair she thought she'd dye.

... Acupuncture is a jab well done. That's the point of it.

Are you sure that's a sparrow?

@mamafrog- That's my favorite, too. I might to print this out and put it in a dollar store frame (grin).

@Jason Anyone- Funny stuff!

@Geoff King- I love geometry humor!

@Greywuff- Well played!

@REM1875- It's just a matter of paying attention. And drinking.

@Anonymous- Glad you liked it! It's the scoundrel in me that wants to take a perfectly happy image and turn it into something awful. Of course, that's basically the premise behind about a thousand "Johnny Optimism" cartoons.

@Fred Ciampi- I love all of these!

@Gee M- Excellent!

@Anonymous- It's probably NOT a sparrow, but the gag doesn't work as well with "tit willow."

And three rights usually make a left!

My two favorite demotivational posters -
"Unique"
A row of forks, one is just twisted and mangled...
"Just because you're different doesn't mean you're useful."

"Customer Disservice"
Bored young lady w/ a headset
"We're not satisfied until you're not satisfied"

Good ones!

@Stan da Man,
That customer service one should be on the wall at the DMV.

"Always give 100%, except when giving blood."

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
(Except bears...bears will just kill you.)

If I'm ever placed on life support, just unplug me.
Then, plug me back in and see if that works.

I hope we all gave a moment today to remember this day in 1941.
It was the first of years of families losing loved ones, an effort we will hopefully never see the like of again. Too many died and too many were damaged beyond anything we have seen before or since.
In spite of our imperfections, we are a GREAT country.
I have been in many countries, from Central America to the Hindu Kush, and I can honestly say God Bless America.
