"Columbus Day" is now widely called "Indigenous Peoples Day," and even more widely called "White Shame Day" because so few people can spell indigenous. But it underscores the point that it is wrong for foreigners to come unbidden into a settled land, displace those who were already there, and destroy the existing cultures and institutions of its people.
Unless, of course, they're currently flooding across our southern border or being flown in, packed on cargo planes, by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. And once here, they (checking Indigenous People Day grievances) "bring disease, exploit resources, commit acts of violence, and assert rights denied to those who already lived here." You know, like those filthy Pilgrims did.
Or at least like they would have done, had their small wooden ships been capable of transporting millions of newcomers every year.
THE SENSELESS AND THE FROG
Depending on who you believe, it looks like Donald Trump is pulling ahead in the polls as time ticks down to the election. To help combat that, VP candidate Tim Walz has been assigned to "woo male voters" by gamboling about the countryside pretending to do "man's man" kind of things and failing hilariously.
Frankly, if you're trying to win votes with your ripping masculinity and unfathomable testosterone levels, you probably shouldn't disclose that your wife required intrauterine insemination treatments to get pregnant. That's a procedure in which the husband's sperm is delivered using a catheter that can actually go deep enough to get the job done, which apparently wasn't the case with whatever Tim brought to the party.
And if you're on a tour presenting your manlihood, so to speak, it's probably good to do so when there isn't a credible story being investigated about molesting underage boys when you were a schoolteacher.
So with all that baggage, about the only thing Tim Walz can do to woo male voters is to demonstrate his working class, tough guy, hyper-heterosexuality using his body language.

I'm amused by the Demo_Rats' attempts to appeal to men by calling Tampon Tim "coach". They think I'll approve of the tampon guy just because he once sort of coached a football team? No, not impressed. To me, "coach" just means that part of the airliner where the people are packed in like livestock.
That not-from-the-campaign commercial with those "men"? Turns out they're all actors and at least one of them is a flaming trouser pilot--and one is said to be bisexual. The fat guy couldn't pick a carburetor out of a pile of onions. That commercial is apparently to make women Word Salad Annie voters comfortable with their idea of what "men" are--or so I have read.

Trying to manly man Waltz is nothing new. While I was not living in the U.S. at the time, I am sure many remember the Dukakis riding the tank fiasco . Me being in a purple area of the Commonwealth of Virginia, ( which otherwise is quite red) I see only few scattered Trump campaign signs. On the other hand, I also do not see a phelora of Harris/Waltz signs either.

last I checked, shotguns were issued as 'weapons of war'...and have been since before WW1.
Surely in his 25 years of service, having presumably started as a private and gone through all the ranks except the one he claims to hold, he'd have been trained and qualified on all service weapons at one point or another, including shotguns ? It's kind of hard to supervise others if you don't know what they're doing.
But that's exactly what's happeneing now...except they've been invited by liebral gov'ts to replace the existing citizens who won't vote for them.

I was career US Army. Not an infantryman, but over the years I was taught to use the M14 rifle, hand grenade, M16 rifle, M2 .50 caliber machine gun, M60 7.62 mm machine gun, M1911a1 .45 cal pistol, M9 9mm pistol, but never a shotgun.

Best to hope the lifeboats are jammed in their davits too, or maybe not...running whatever manages to swim away from this disaster in the next election can only make it easier on JD or whoever is the candidate.
I was Infantry to start but spend most of my time in the Airforce and used several different types of shotgun. You see a lot used nowadays as 'breaching tools' mounted under an M4 or on their own, and they're used fo 'drone defence' too, I just watched a video from Ukraine where the russians were using them and they're in use for both purposes in Israel.
I couldn't get the photo to paste here but I made a package of grape Kool-Aid that was labeled with "DEMOCRAT VOTER GUIDE INSIDE!" for a liberal at work who would vote for Kamala if she spelled her name S-A-T-A-N! True, the U.S. is a representative republic, not a democracy, but so many uneducated people here have no clue of the implications their ignorance perpetuates. I fear that the current mindset (and I use the word MINDset loosely) is based on the infiltration of communists into our educational institutions. Luckily I slipped through the school system before it really took off, although University was getting away from teaching and into indoctrination. University graduates today can't even make change at the fast food till that's the only thing their 'degree' qualifies them for, so debit where the gov't logs your every purchase, had to be pushed on the masses. Debit cards are handy but never use them for something you don't want the alphabet agencies to know you have, and the day they shut off...hide.

In British Columbia, after apparently being beaten badly at the polls days ago, the socialist 'new democratic party' (notice how that word 'democratic' pops up in socialist groups) has amazingly surged to a lead after counting 'other' ballots that weren't cast at the polling stations on voting day...and are still coming in days after the election was supposed to be over.
So elections in Canada are being "fortified" too? How nice of the communists to do so. I guess Klaus and George have good friends all over the globe.
Today Penn. is having problems with their advance voting, not even saving any for the big day...voting machines not working, people turned away, told they can't have mail in ballots when they can, all in epublican leaning areas of course.
We have another Provincial election in Saskatchewan tonight, the ndp socialists are well behind right now but who knows what the count will be after the dust settles...you'd think the people would remember the last time they were in power and refuse to chance another one, but sockboy probably promised singh a few provinces if he propped the liebrals up a little longer and Sask is a major oil producer but we can't have that.
A point that as conservatives we should be drilling during the election madness: If government today can't do something as relatively simple as running a clean, efficient election, (even third-world "hole" countries somehow manage to do a better job) what makes anyone think that government can manage the more complex problems?
It's not that they can't, it's that they don't want to. They can't risk a 'free and fair' election.
All of the discrepancies, difficulties and outright sabotage of the voting process are being committed by the left for the left. You never see voting machines switching from democrat to Republican or a shortage of ballots or 'broken' machines in high dem areas, only in places like Maricopa county or certain places in Pennsylvania. The one thing they've probably learned from the last cycle is to get the fake ballots counted early so nobody questions a '3AM dump' again and to have the machines wait until the tabulation phase before switching the vote so the voter doesn't get a chance to notice it switching. That's already been shown to be possible with virtually no effort and is probably preprogrammed in already. Verifiable ID, paper ballots dropped into a locked, transparent ballot box, and thumbs dipped in ink is a good start, not a perfect solution as has been shown in the 'third world' countries that do that have shown when they just have armed 'gov't guards' show up and take the ballot boxes away to be destroyed or replaced with properly filled ones, but a start nonetheless.
True, @Oldarmourer, that the current state of elections is a manufactured mess for the purposes of wrecking the democratic process and rendering the public cynical. My point is that we should be exploiting that very fact to point out that more government control over our lives is at best benign mismanagement and at worst, corruption.
