And maybe lend them one of your homes? |
That mayor, who would meet all of the qualifications of being a major whackjob even if she wasn't a huge Hillary supporter, can only make such claims by ignoring the massive amounts of aid that President Trump has already sent and continues to send to the devastated island - which the complaining mayor might have known about had she actually bothered to attend any meetings with FEMA coordinators as other officials are doing (she hasn't).
The narrative that aid to Puerto Rico is somehow lacking is playing widely in mainstream media, and has absolutely no basis in fact (see below for exhaustive documentation). And while we already know that those on the Left believe they should "never let a serious crisis go to waste," it's appalling that they're using the very real suffering of those in Puerto Rico to score their cheap and baseless political points.
BONUS: #GREENEGGSMATTER
On a somewhat lighter (but no less stupid) note - First Lady Melania Trump was recently criticized in the media for having the insensitive audacity to encourage childhood literacy and give a gift of Dr. Seuss books to a library. Horrors! A staff librarian, whom we'd bet our life savings owns a pussy hat, rejected the books and derided the First Lady by claiming that Dr. Seuss's beloved children's classics are (wait for it!) racist.
We initially found this hard to swallow, but will admit to having second thoughts after discovering this shocking title...

UPDATE: ACTUAL AID TO PUERTO RICO (Special Thank You to Mike Rilling)
PUERTO RICO RESCUE UPDATE:
The news media is presenting the impression that Trump isn't doing much about the crisis in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
So here's a summary (compiled mostly from FEMA's daily updates) of what the Trump Administration has done so far since Maria hit Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands on September 20.
By September 23 . . .
** Six commercial barges were delivering meals, water, generators, cots, and other commodities to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
** Three flights per day were arriving, each carrying approximately 33,000 meals.
** The logistics support ship SS Wright arrived carrying more than 1.1 million meals, and nearly one million liters of freshwater.
** Two shipping barges with 1.2 million liters of water, 31 generators, and more than 6,000 cots have arrived in St. Thomas.
** Two additional shipping barges loaded with food, water, and emergency relief supplies are en route to the Caribbean Sea from Florida.
** Millions of additional meals were and are being flown to Puerto Rico from staging areas in Kentucky and Florida.
** DLA transported 124,000 gallons of diesel fuel to Puerto Rico.
By September 27, the Trump Administration, working with officials in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands . . .
** Opened points of distribution (POD) in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands for survivors to get meals, water, and other commodities.
** FEMA, working in coordination with federal partners, provided millions of meals and millions of liters of water to Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. Additional meals and water continue to arrive at the islands daily.
** FEMA’s National Business Emergency Operations Center (NBEOC) is facilitating private sector requests for humanitarian relief.
** The NBEOC continues coordination between government and private sector organizations as the community responds to Hurricanes Maria.
** Mobile Emergency Response Support (MERS) communications assets and personnel continue to support the FEMA Incident Management Assistance Teams (IMAT), Urban Search and Rescue (US&R), National Disaster Medical System (NDMS), and other federal teams in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
As of September 27, 2017 . . .
** A U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) mobile communications team is in Puerto Rico to help improve communications across the storm-impacted area.
** FEMA search and rescue teams have visited all 78 municipalities of Puerto Rico, conducting search and rescue operations and helping to assess hospitals.
** FEMA US&R task forces saved or assisted 843 individuals and five pets, while searching over 2,600 structures as of September 27.
** The U.S. Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority drinking water system is back online, and other drinking water systems on the islands are top priority for receiving generators.
** The Concordia potable water pump station is online in St. Croix.
** The U.S. Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority Waste Management, and USACE are addressing potential public health risks of garbage build up; coordinating route clearance of wires and poles to enable garbage haulers to access the St. Thomas landfill.
** The National Guard Bureau (NGB) has thousands of Guard members on the ground in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands taking part in security and support operations. The Air National Guard is focused on transporting food, water, and communications capabilities as well as rapidly increasing airlift into affected areas.
** More than 180 Federal Law Enforcement Officers (FLEO) are in San Juan and the U.S. Virgin Islands supporting search and rescue, medical teams, and other federal responders, additional FLEOs are en route expected to arrive this week. Additional law enforcement support from New York State Police is on the ground in St. John.
** The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has supported the restoration of services to all 8 commercial airports in Puerto Rico.
** The FAA has restored full Air Traffic Control (ATC) services to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan and limited ATC services to Rafael Hernandez Airport in Aguadilla. Recovery efforts are now supporting more than a dozen commercial passenger flights per day at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
** 26 chainsaw teams and one Incident Management Team (IMT) (23 individuals) from the Department of Agriculture United States Forest Service arrived in Puerto Rico Wednesday to conduct emergency road clearance and manage logistics.
** The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) debris experts are assisting FEMA with debris management strategies in Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. One of the first priorities is emergency route clearance in multiple locations to enable access to remote locations.
** USACE also completed a Blue Roof install on Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas, and completed its first residential Blue Roof install on September 23. Assessments for St. Croix are ongoing. A customer service center for Blue Roof installations opened over the weekend for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
** To bolster the delivery of fuel throughout Puerto Rico, 100 delivery trucks were dispatched by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) carrying an estimated 275,000 gallons of diesel fuel.
** Power is restored to Centro Médico Hospital in San Juan and San Pablo Hospital in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
**The Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital in St. Croix and the Schneider Regional Medical Center in St. Thomas are established as mobile hospitals.
** More than half of dialysis centers in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are open and accessible for patients. More critical care facilities will re-open in the coming days as power and access are restored.
** The U.S. Coast Guard reports the following port statuses with additional ports opening as assessments continue:
Puerto Rico:
Open: Port of San Juan, Guayanilla, Salinas, and Talboa
Open with restrictions: Arecibo, Fajardo, Culebra, Guayama, Mayaguez, and Vieques
U.S. Virgin Islands:
Open:
St. Thomas: Charlotte Amalie, East Gregerie Channel, Crown Bay, West Gregerie Channel
St. Croix: Krause Lagoon, Frederiksted, Limetree Bay
Open with Restrictions:
St. Thomas: Redhook Bay
St. John: Cruz Bay
** USACE coordinated transportation of more than 300 FEMA or Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) generators from across the U.S. to meet anticipated requirements in the islands. More generators continue to arrive.
The above info is compiled mostly from the FEMA website, which provides a daily update on what's happening.
And this from my military expert friend J Michael Waller who is tracking this closely. I'll just copy and paste here what he reports:
US Navy/Marine Corps Assets currently on station, or enroute to the Caribbean AOR:
26th Marine Expeditionary Unit with Battalion Landing Team 2/6
Carrier USS Abraham Lincoln Battle Group
Amphibious Assault Ship USS Wasp
Amphibious Assault Ship USS Iwo Jima
Amphibious Assault Ship USS Kearsarge
Amphibious Transport Dock USS New York
Amphibious Landing Ship USS Oak Hill
Hospital Ship USNS Comfort
Aviation Logistics Support Ship USNS Wright
Dry Cargo Ship USNS William McLean
The above are enough assets to land an entire USMC Marine Expeditionary Brigade, with combat logistics elements. For those who don't know what that is, that's several thousand Marines, with all their gear.
All of the above, with the exception of the hospital ship, are capable of independent air operations.
Note: MEDEVACs are ALREADY being done, and began IMMEDIATELY by the US Coast Guard, and US Navy aviation.
Carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is producing purified potable water, at the rate of 400,000 gallons a day. Full capacity.
The carrier, all 3 assault ships, the LSD, and LPD, all have operating rooms to stabilize critical medical/trauma cases, prior to evacuation to either the hospital ship, or land based medical treatment facilities.
The hospital ship is capable of handling a patient load of up to 1,000 patients, with full OR, ICU, and Recovery wards.
In addition, fleet refueling ships are also enroute to provide fuel specifically for public safety equipment on the ground.
Obviously, the human catastrophe in Puerto Rico continues to be dire. Pray for Puerto Rico. And much work still needs to be done.
But it's just inaccurate (intentionally inaccurate) to suggest that Trump has not taken every conceivable action to help the 3.4 million people of Puerto Rico.

in addition to this there are in excess of 10,000 giant shipping containers filled with emergency supplies and the mayor refuses to work with the trucking Union to get distributed throughout the Island
What else should he be doing?

The list of actual aid to Puerto Rico is massive and impressive, however the left tells me that none of it counts because Trump was playing golf.
Mike aka Proof
it still doesn't count cause the media wasn't reporting on and if they didn't report on it ---it didn't happen.......proof be damned.....
WHAA... nothing is being done?? Excuuuuuse me???
Wow!! I think she needs to look around or find her glasses..
Quite the list of supplies and services being provided to PR and the VI. But he was golfing so none of that matters.
On another note, the Florida AG says they have enough OJ and don't need anymore.
The San Juan Moron: That POS mayor had the audacity to complain about lack of aid while standing directly in front of massive amounts of undelivered supplies that Trump sent:
http://www.dailywire.com/news/21752/undelivered-puerto-rico-mayor-gives-press-emily-zanotti
In other news, as I write this reports of another mass shooting are just coming in from a country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip.
Call it intuition, but I bet the shooter was not a disgruntled redneck that didn't like his seating.
Indeed, as Geoff points out, she made one of her latest complaints to the everloving cameras standing with tons of the non-existing (in her- "Lets make this another Katrina" ie even if the job is done right LIE -world) behind her.
Seems the problems are drivers for trucks, poor roads (as they were as well cared for as the electrical grid), off loading the goods (the longshoremen demand to be paid upfront, as otherwise they doubt they will be paid at all), and the standard graft and corruption inherent in the leftiod run areas.
And hardly a word of complaint or discussion from our entrenched Republican Representatives and Senators about the ongoing, outright lying and biased press.
I'm fully disgusted with them as well, the press, the clap trap on TV, the NFL, etc.
I wonder if any of these protestors will ever realize how their stupid behavior SLOWS & STOPS simple befriending, charitable giving, general support, hiring and of course any idea of ever voting for those who are drinking this cool-aid?
Good current example: The Crosby, TX private high school football coach who is in the news. He made a great and loving decision to stand by his word. Victimized kids indeed, most likely by a stupid mother; all self-inflicted.
I saw a FEMA rep. interviewed and he said that 77 of the 78 municipalities, in PR, were in contact with them and cooperating and one was not. Guess which whining bitch of a mayor THAT was. Typical leftist BS being reported by most of the media. They wouldn't know the truth if it kicked them in the @$$.
Now we got OJ out and more mass shootings in. Good news all around. It's getting so bad ,I'm afraid to turn the news on in the morning.
As for that other bitch of a librarian, there are pics. of her wearing a "Cat in the Hat" outfit (hat). Hypocrisy? Or maybe just more fine, truthful reporting of facts by MSM.
here is that anti-Dr Seuss bitch, i mean librarian:
http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2017/09/dr-seuss-is-racist_librarian_d.html
"Work on his slice." Classic. Thanks for the list of goods and services to PR. I often wonder how people come to these negative mindsets. Sort of like cutting (!!) off one's nose to spite his face? Like the teacher that Twd she hoped all the dead were Trumsters. Something has got to turn around in this country when folks celebrate tragedy. Lastly, how many countries could handle disasters like Houston, Florida and Puerto Rico in this short time frame. And this is the country they want to destroy?
And the news media wonders why people don't believe them.
Reports are now coming in that ISIS is claiming responsibilty for the Las Vegas shooting, saying the gunman was a recent convert to Islam. Go figure.
This incident hits very close to home for me. Not only because I live a mere 250 miles from Vegas, but my own daughter was actually staying at Mandalay Bay Hotel when it happened. Luckily she does not like Country music, so was not at the concert, but she did hear all the gunshots.
The dumb lefty mayor is, of course, the toast of the MSM as would anyone who bashes Trump would be. How dare the president say such ugly things about a loyal member of their tribe? I really don't care how crass Trump gets, it's just so refreshing to finally have someone with a spine who loves America and won't sit back and take the leftist crap.
As far as the Crosby, TX football coach, he warned his team that if anyone kneeled at the anthem, they would be kicked off the team. Two students, both black, took a knee at the anthem. He immediately told them to take off their uniforms and leave the field, never to return. Of course, one of the mothers immediately became a star on the MSM where she proclaimed the coach had a slavemaster's mentality. No word if she thought this before her indoctrinated little issue decided to defy him. Sadly, if this were a public school, the little darlings would have received no punishment for their disobedience.
Whew! My brother and wife are safe, they didn't go to the concert. ALL of Vegas is badly shaken, from all accounts.
It sounded to me like an AK on full rock-and-roll, large magazine. The guy had been renting the room since September, plenty of time to sneak an arsenal up there - which he did.
As of this writing, 58+ dead and 515 injured. Shooting fish in a barrel on full auto.
I just wonder if the whacko was a 'Nam Vet, or what.
Also, listening to some pundits on Glenn Beck, eliminating the Jones Act would go a long way towards helping the Cost-of-living on Puerto Rico and environs... Maybe even kick start the economy. However, with that luzer Mayor "in charge" it would take a Herculean effort!
The Mayor: A bit of a drama queen, if you ask me. Everything has collapsed, but apparently the t-shirt shops are okay. No food, but "HELP US WE ARE DYING" t-shirts are readily available.
This is something to consider the next time you are voting on your local government officials. When the stuff hits the fan, what kind of leader do you want front-and-center? Someone who has nurtured and prepared local government resources to act in such an eventuality, or some useless mouth who's only act is to stand in front of cameras and complain that someone else isn't taking responsibility for saving them? Apparently, she's been too busy with her press availabilities slamming the lack of Federal support to attend meetings with FEMA officials.
Looks like the Democrats have a new rising star. Look out, Kamala Harris!
But this shouldn't be a surprise. Puerto Rico was a mess long before Maria finished the job; A hopelessly corrupt local government, bankruptcy, productive citizens fleeing the faltering economy for the mainland, leaving the dead weight.
It may not seem like it now, but in the long run, this may be the greatest thing that could have happened to Puerto Rico. The electrical grid was falling apart before Maria hit. Had Maria not finished it off, they would have gone on patching it up for generations. Now, they have to rebuild it from scratch, which could be a factor in making the island attractive to industry again. Most of the remaining outstanding debt will likely get written off, as there's no way it's getting repaid now.
The only thing holding back a bright future is the corruption. Will Puerto Rico choose a bright future, or one more resembling Haiti? All I know is that the traditional approach of throwing billions of dollars at the problem without any accountability will only result in the latter.
The racist Dr. Seuss: "...we'd bet our life savings owns a pussy hat..."
I don't know about that, but it appears as though she owns a "Cat in the Hat" hat. Seems that the librarian who claims that Dr. Seuss is racist is a racist herself. Go figure.
When everything is "racist", nothing is.
OJ: So glad that finally he can get back to the business of finding "the real killers".
Las Vegas: The bodies aren't even cold yet, and yet the usual suspects, including Elizabeth Warren are out of the gate on gun control. Never mind that the weapons likely used were already in fact, "controlled". Never let a good crisis go to waste.
ISIS takes credit: I wouldn't get to excited about that, yet. After all, ISIS takes credit every time I have gas. As usual, we need to wait to see what this guy was about, who is associates were, and what kind of information the MSM is eager to dispense and what information they decide to ignore.
I just heard a brilliant caller on the Rush Limbaugh show who asked how could the FBI within hours unequivocally state there are no terrorist ties in the Las Vegas shooting but well over a year cannot rule out Russian collusion with the Trump campaign in the 2016 election? Hint: The question answers itself.
@Stilton,
Concerning the list at the end of your post, that's ALL Trump did? What a loser. He should be impeached for golfing. After all, Obama never golfed.
I have a question for Lizzie Warren and the soon to be flood of Libtards calling for a giant gun grab. Why not just make it illegal to shoot people?
That BASTARD Trump... how can he be such a terrible leader in this situation when he had such a good example of what could be done after his predecessor's brilliant performance after hurricane magilla and himmicane lamont hit Washington D C... oh... wait... nevermind.
When even Geraldo Rivera says "they're lying" about their complaints...
@Mike aka Proof- Isn't it odd how many on the Left are now offended by golf?
@REM1875- Sadly, there's great truth in what you say. Actions don't mean a thing if they're not reported (or misreported) by design.
@SB Sweeney- It's just demonstrably not true, but this moron still gets quality time with Anderson Cooper while wearing her "Help Us We're Dying" t-shirt.
@Anonymous- First she needs to pull her head out of her rear end.
@Jim Irre- Heck, send OJ to Puerto Rico. I'll bet a man with his physique could clear a lot of brush away with a machete. Especially while thinking of his dead wife.
@Geoff King- I read that there are 10,000 containers of supplies waiting to be distributed. They didn't appear in Puerto Rico by magic.
And regarding the shooting in Las Vegas, it was the first thing I heard about this morning and it knocked the wind out of me. Who wants to even wake up in a world like that?! Very little solid news about the shooter has been shared (though I've read plenty of BS online). Horrible.
@JP- Indeed, even before the hurricane Puerto Rico was falling apart because of government corruption - and that's why it's in such a poor position now to even distribute generous aid from elsewhere. This is SO not Trump's fault.
@Rod- I've largely given up on the news, and don't much believe anything that's reported as "breaking news." Rather, I now prefer to let things age for 4 or 5 days to find out what factually happened minus all the spin. And I still find the Wall Street Journal to be my favorite news source.
@Judi King- This has been a rotten day for all the reasons you mention - then to top it off, my niece's dog died and I just found out that rocker Tom Petty died of a heart attack. I can't wait to hit the sack tonight, hoping for a better day tomorrow.
@jlw- Yeah, that librarian is a real piece of work. She wears the Cat in the Hat outfit when it suits her, keeps her yap shut when Michelle Obama is reading Dr. Seuss, but suddenly finds Melania's efforts to encourage literacy to be racist. It's transparently political, and also shows that this little beeyotch doesn't actually give a damn about real racism, or she wouldn't use the term so flippantly when lying.
@James Daily- I saw the tweet from the teacher who hoped all the dead in Las Vegas were "trumptards." She needs to lose her job immediately...and I further believe she could benefit from a good ass-kicking. Failing that, I'd like to see her be ordered by a court to personally apologize to all the affected families of this shooting, one by one.
@TheOldMan- The more we find out about this lunatic, anti-American mayor, the clearer it becomes why CNN sought her out to be Puerto Rico's aggrieved spokesperson.
@Liberty Card- Sadly, too many people still DO believe the news media.
@Geoff King- I'm so thankful your daughter is okay. What a nightmare. I've seen the ISIS reports but am initially writing them off as BS. I've also seen a lot of activity on social media with people claiming the shooter was a member an antifa and anti-Trump groups...and I'm again calling BS.
A lot about this incident smells, and I'm curious as hell to get to the truth (which may prove more complicated than a simple nutjob). But I'm ignoring the initial nattering of the no-nothings.
@Shelly- Trump is being demonized for talking (mild) trash about this mayor, but give me a break - she accused him of doing nothing and fomenting genocide. Trump did the right thing by firing back at her.
And hooray for that football coach. We need more discipline and consequences for kids (and yes, especially young black males).
@Igor- So glad your family is safe. As I said above, I'm anxious to learn more about the shooter but as of this writing he seems to be a cypher.
And I agree with you (and with the WSJ) that suspension or elimination of the Jones Act would be a big step in the rebuilding of Puerto Rico.
@John the Econ- As usual, all I can add to your remarks is a "well said!"
@Shelly- I agree.
@Colby Muenster- Great idea about outlawing shootings. I also think we need a LOT more "gun free zone" decals distributed to keep people safe.
@Bruce Bleu- No hurricane has officially been handled well by a President until they get a hug from Chris Christie.
@Sam L- Bullseye!
@ColbyMuenster:
"Why not just make it illegal to shoot people?"
Colby, you just proved that you're a RAAAAAACIIIIIS!
Don't you realize that personal responsibility is the government's job? (Or something.)
I live in Pahrump, about sixty miles west of LV, but my daughter and one granddaughter live there. Although neither of them are country music fans, they only live a couple of miles from the strip and (rarely) go there from time to time.
We were relieved that they were home at the time.
I caught the news when I checked my email before bed, and then my wife and I stayed up until four am watching FOX News.
Even before the concert killings in France and the UK, I wondered when (not if) something like that would occur in Vegas. Vegas has something for everyone, especially victims for those that hate what goes on there.
Whatever the motivation of the killer, this was obviously terrorism.
The examples set by some of those interviewed who helped others while the assault was ongoing made me proud to live in a country where folks would place themselves in peril to assist complete strangers.
God bless those injured and killed, and God bless America!
All those things that have been done for Puerto Rico and I didn't see anything about free condoms or free birth control.
That must prove that President Trump is sexist, or something....
C'Mon libs, don't disappoint us with your condamnation of that small oversight!
I'm SO pissed at the Gun Grabbers... local (Lib) talker "why do we need military grade hardware?"
B/C when the 2nd A was written, muzzle loading muskets WERE 'state of the art'...
Most Artillery was privately owned... dontchya just WANT a cannon? (actually, as long as they're muzzle loading smooth bore, I think they are...)
GRRR!!
You know why we don't have more full auto shootings? FA guns are expensive to license, expensive to buy, and VERY expensive to play with (feed). I mean it not like there's a federal program handing them out...
Oh, wait... (in fairness, I don't know that F&F gave out Full Auto guns - they're just not that common...)
Oh, you want to ban the illegal FA guns, smuggled in by drug gangs, or some shi'ite... Here's a tip, snowflake - They're ALREADY ILLEGAL!!!!
More laws making them more illegal are NOT going to bother the criminals, at all!
Final note (for now) - 59 dead, 530 wounded - or pretty much the same ratio as Chicago. So, for anyone upset about this, "Ok, you got two months of Chicago in an hour. What are you doing about Chicago?"
Like maybe crack down on the illegal dealers?
As for the shooting in Las Vegas, I wonder if the fact that those who ran in, while the crowd ran out, are the same public employees who the over-paid sports figures and play-actors protest as "brutal" will register in their feeble minds? I am betting it will not.
As a side point, we all need to practice situational awareness until it becomes second nature. It just might save ones life.
Ms. mayor maybe would think a pallet of cash would be more appropriate as help than food, water and other necessities. That way she could be directly involved in seeing it gets into the right pockets.
Trump could play like Øbama, if they prefer. You know: sending all kinds of aid (late) to the "chocolate city", while ignoring the floods in Iowa. Or maybe, since she's clearly uninformed, she just presumed that all presidents behave like narcissistic, race-hustling, socialist bastards....
Stilton, considering Chris Christie's waistli... I mean equator, how could someone get close enough to hug him back?
@American Cowboy,
And let's not forget free phones and cash for clunkers. Food, water, shelter, and medical care are sooooo over rated.
@Stilton,
I know there is a lot in the news, but we haven't had a Money Pit update in a while. How's it going? Have you moved into a tent in the back yard yet?

Sure could if you blindfold him and point him in the wrong direction.
Oh wait, sorry, I thought you were referring to his golf game ;)
When BHO was prezzy, the MSM wholeheartedly believed that golf was the IDEAL R&R ACTIVITY for a busy POTUS.
