A Very Barry Christmas

This is the Hope n' Change cartoon we waited nine years to write.
Thanks to jolly old Saint Trump and his happy workshop of GOP elves, Christmas came early for people who pay taxes, people who want jobs, people who don't want to be fined if they can't afford Obamacare, people who support Israel, and people like us who are currently singing "O, Schadenfreude" to the tune of "O, Tannenbaum."

Of course, the Democrats also gave us a significant gift: their unanimous opposition to all of the above. Meaning that when the rising economic tide lifts all boats, they'll still be holding their breath in the backseat of Teddy Kennedy's sunken car wondering when help from voters will arrive (spoiler alert: it won't).

This will likely be our last post until next Wednesday, so let us take this opportunity to wish all of you the very merriest of Christmases in this wonderful country of ours!

Merry Christmas to you and yours. This is one of the most wonderful Christmas I have ever had. It seems like President Trump has herded the RINOs into the corral and they learned what could be accomplished when they pulled together. That does not forgive them of past transgressions and one "Ah, sheit" will wipe out all the positive these turncoats do accomplish. Meanwhile, look forward to an outstanding 2018 as the wall goes up, the demorats go down (figuratively speaking) and we smile every day. Stilt, it was a great year for your talents and I look forward to more.

I second the Merry Christmas to all here. Y'all have no idea how much entertainment got from both Hope and Change while deployed and now Stilton's place. Of course some of my coworkers wondered about my laughter from Jonny optimism and the warped sense of humor. Again Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

The Tax Relief Plan Explained by Dylan

Dylan Westie  @DylanWestie1 Dec 20

Wondering? What will be the calculated tax break for: Schumer, Pelosi, Sanders, Clintons, O’Donnell and all the other super rich congressional whiners faking distress over a plan to greatly help the middle class and create an economy ravaged by the previous administration? #ThanksCongress!

My annual Christmas message.

To My Liberal Friend (singular on purpose): Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2018, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To My Conservative Friends: MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My goyisha friend, I wish you and your family a Happy New Year and a Merry Christmas replete with memories of Angels, good spirits, and those pesky blank spots due to imbibing several gallons of said aforementioned spirits!
Many children see me with my long white hair and cry "Mommy...Santa!"
So, in that spirit, I cry "Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas to all!"

@Readers- I'm just going to give a blanket "thank you" and "right back at you" for all the Christmas wishes!

@James Daily- I'm not great at the whole "forgive and forget" thing, but I'll give the GOP credit for finally getting something right - and it's a big something.

@John Fernau- Nothing pleases me more than to hear that my efforts bring pleasure to someone who has served (or is serving) in our military. Without you, none of this would be possible!

@Murphy(AZ)- All are good, but in this case it's scottish shortbread.

@Mark Holbrook- I'm not sure how much the Lefty multi-millionaires will benefit from the tax changes, since I assume most of them are hiding their wealth in foreign bank accounts.

@Bill from Wood-Ridge- Unfortunately, you forgot to precede your Christmas message with a "trigger warning."

@Gee M- And let me say that I hope you had a wonderful Hanukkah! And this time of year, I get the "Santa!" identification a lot, too.

Hardly noticeable here I'm sure, but I've been absent from this website for most of the fourth quarter tending to my aging father's healthcare issues; helping a few friends & family with other events like Hurricane Harvey's record flooding in Houston, etc. The year went kind of south the last four months and all I could pin it on was that damned Solar Eclipse in August. That's what Mom predicted and now I think she was on to something. But thank you all... Silt, this Forum, and Trump carried on and also kept things light. The challenges are all pretty much behind us now; just in time to wish everyone Merry Christmas and have a great 2018. Be sure to count your blessings.

John the Econ said...

I tend not to pay too much attention to the details of bills like this because once you think you've got them figured out, they change. But it does look like there is much to like in the bill Trump just signed. For once, the GOP has put the Democrats in a strategic position of arguing against tax cuts for the middle class. It sticks it to high-tax states. The Democrat's hyperbole about how it's a gift for the rich will mostly ring hollow. After all, the rich did their best under Obama while everyone else was singing of treading water for the better part of a decade. Trump may run a deficit of a trillion dollars by the end of his term, which would still be $6-trillion less than Obama did by the end of his first term.

So of course the Democrats are apoplectic. 3% or better of economic growth, increasing consumer confidence, better job prospects means that the Democrats are toast in 2018 & 2020. They have to stop this somehow. Like I said the other day, it's sad that we have a major political party that needs the middle class to be miserable in order to maintain power.

The hissy-fit at the UN is amusing. I think most Americans like an aggressive stance instead of cowering to what the two-bit tyrants think. After all, who are they to tell other countries where their capitols should be located? What would Germany think if all of a sudden, we were to declare that their capitol should be Dusseldorf instead of Berlin? If I wasn't married to Mr. Econ, I'd be stalking Nikki Haley. (I thought conservatives were supposed to be scared of strong women)

Speaking of Ted Kennedy & sunken cars, can you believe that Hollywood is actually coming out with a movie about Chappaquiddick?

It's just another example of how the recent "pervnado" is no accident. It's a purge. I think it's pretty clear now in the wake of "inevitable" Hillary's implosion that the smarter Democrats looked at the data and found that owning a vagina and a fondness for abortion by themselves were no longer enough of a reason alone to vote for a Democrat. And they can't win without women, which for the last 40 year's they've considered their electoral slaves like all of their other identity groups. Hanging on to, much less worshiping the legacy of the Kennedys and Clintons is now hurting them more than helping. So now that they're no longer powerful or useful, they all gotta go. That's why there will be a battle should grabby-Al decide to stay. I predict that we'll be seeing a lot less of Hillary from this point forward.

I was never a Trump supporter, but I have to admit that I'm enjoying the "winning". Merry Christmas!

"O, Schadenfreude," indeed! So many years of experiencing every emotion ranging from mildly depressed to totally pissed, thanks to Barry and his band of anti-American socialists, and now it's coming back to bite him in the ass. Today's post is awesome, and thank you! I will be sharing this with everyone I can think of, especially a couple of libs I know. Give em' a dose of what they gave us, and hopefully for at least 8 years!

My Christmas list just got shorter. Nikki Haley for President in 2024.

A wonderful Christmas too all you Stilton's Place Hope 'n' Changers!

Merry Christmas to Stilt, Mrs., and daughter. I was in okc yesterday. I just love driving in rain and sleet. Merry Christmas also to the usual assembly of the finest people anywhere. We are united in a love for and of country. Also, we love to laugh until we puke or pee. The best to all.

I believe the kennedys are the original basket of deplorables. John might have worked out, but the rest are what they are.
