Just Meghan Trouble

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, meghan markle, royal family, biden, racism

We don't actually give a rat's ass about the Royal Family, let alone any fabulously wealthy media-attention whores who've broken from the pack and now want to whine about how difficult and unfair life is.

Among the (ahem) serious grievances of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they are miffed that their baby Archie wasn't given the title of "Prince" (by normal succession rules) but was only proclaimed "the Earl of Dumbarton," which is exactly the sort of royal title that leads to all kinds of teasing in grade school.

But as inconsequential as this whole story is, it at least struck us as a good opportunity to remind people of Joe Biden's long history of casual racism. Talk about being a Dumbarton...

I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I'm getting a real case of Meghan Fatigue.

You bail on Miz Liz, your kid don't get to be a prince. Deal with it.

According to Carl Benjamin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pry3fNjzMCo
the real reason the kid can't be a prince is he's not actually descended from the queen, if you know what I mean, and everyone in merry old England knows it.

They both seem to be channeling Harry's great uncle and wife.

As to her 'racist' comment. It struck me, over privileged, uber self centered, spoiled children, would in fits of anger, spit out something along the lines of 'You poopy booger face!'. And now that they are "adults " in place of 'poopy booger face' 'racist' is the vocabulary of choice.

Oh, this is probably way down the memory hole, but when he was much younger, Harry was caught wearing a Nazi like uniform to a party. Seems he's still not learned much about good judgment.

@ Fish Out of Water - Whether your a Nazi uniformed royal or a black faced Democ rat governor (or any black face wearing hollywood star for that matter) you get a pass from the left.

Prince charlie only had a small amount of vital essence and harry got what was left. That leads to the little head doing the thinking for the big head. Also, the family tradition of when cousins marry does not help the situation. Harry is a twit, but don't underestimate the woman. She has sold her soul to someone or something.

M. Mitchell Marmel said...

Harry: "Say, Oprah, are you still giving away cars? Asking for a friend."

Oprah: "How about a nice Mercedes limo with no seatbelts in the back? I'll throw in the tunnel and the paparazzi."

Largely forgotten by history, the original video of "Sharp Dressed Man" (circa 1894) was eventually overshadowed by ZZ Top's take on it in 1983.

If the Duck and Duckless wanted their baby to bear the name “prince” they should have named him ‘Prints of Markle.’

Didn't we give up caring about the Royals in 1776?

The English monarchy may be ridiculed by some but THEY take it very seriously and have for centuries. It's going to take more than some aggrieved little twit to take it down.

Acting!: What better way to seek out a quite, private life than to appear on an internationally broadcast interview show with Oprah?

I didn't watch this myself, (was too preoccupied with sorting the contents of my nuts-and-bolts drawers in the garage) but what I think the people who did watch the other night saw was just the royal version of the Jerry Springer Show, sans the screaming, rambunctious studio audience and bouncers.

(Do recall that back in the '80s long before becoming big as the more sophisticated and intelligent Oprah we supposedly know today, she was doing daytime talk sleaze no different than contemporaries like Geraldo & Sally Jesse Raphael that would blaze the trail for the even worse Jenny Jones, Ricki Lake & Jerry Springer)

So you'll have to forgive me for not taking anything that comes out of Harry & Meghan's mouths with any particular degree of seriousness, especially considering the millions of dollars that exchanged hands behinds the scenes of this event.

Consider this: The only, only reason to watch this was for the expectation of royal dirty laundry, which, of course, they delivered. Nobody watches the Jerry Springer show for non-sensational normalcy.

I do have one question: In an age where people are now having their careers cancelled for brainless tweets from their teenage years, why does Harry get to remain an A-lister?

Better yet, isn't it amazing how a guy who used to literally dress up as Nazis for kicks & giggles can go on to become a victim of the white Angelo establishment?

Acting!

And if these two privilege poster children can be victims, who can't be?

Truth be told, I watched The Crown and get it; Being raised as a royal totally screws you up. The only compensation you get for being born into this mess is an absurdly opulent lifestyle and celebrity by default. Harry was born into it and didn't get any choice. Meghan on the other hand did have a choice. So I really have a harder time having any sympathy for her in what appears largely to have been a career move.

So they decided to ditch the royal thing and all those awful Anglo racists and become nominally "private" citizens to live nominally "normal" lives by moving to Montecito, California, a well known as a bastion of diversity. (92.2% White, 0.6% African American)

Basically it looks like what they really want is be Kardashians with titles.

On a side note, the arbiters of "free" discussion at the WSJ seem now to have a problem with comments containing the words' Obama sock puppet' Had mine flagged last night and the comment was not posted.

@Fish Out of Water & @Mike: Don't forget the current prime minister of Canada who's go-to party gag was to dress up in blackface and jump around with a banana down his pants. He then had the nerve to lecture his voters that the real blame was his fact that Canada was such a racist country, and only way to redeem itself would be to re-elect a guy who's go-to party gag was to dress up in blackface and jump around with a banana down his pants.

Just fodder for one my my maxims that there is absolutely nothing a Progressive can do to permanently destroy their career as long as they are faithful to the Progressive agenda.

@Sortahwitte, I think you are right. She's definitely the smarter of the two.

Anyone else sees the irony of Meghan and Oprah talking about racism when they both have done very well for themselves despite what they claim? Meghan married a Prince, is a multimillionaire, and counting. O-PHAT became a billionaire by losing the same 50# over and over to the delight of her mostly upper-middle-class WHITE Liberal audience.
Meghan like most actors has a narcissistic personality. It's ALL about her.
She used her feminine wiles and acting skills to appeal to Harry's problem child issues.
Princess Diane was the same way as Harry. Loved the glitz and glitter, hated the demands the "job" requires. Prince William is like his Father. He knows he has a great life and in exchange, the "work" he's required to do is a fair trade-off. His wife Kate is all class, Meghan is all ASS! Eventually, she'll kick Harry to the curb. He will realize then he gave-up/lost his family/friends for someone who loves herself more than anyone else.

I find it hard to credit the worldview of anyone who'd go on Oprah.

Now, for the important half of the post:
• Johnny and Billy made it inside by using the old two-kids-one-coat ploy
• Olav was a coat-shoplifter's coat-shoplifter
• Olav's real income came from smuggling coats across the border
• Phil was on a twelve-step program, and that was his twelfth step from the pub door. Now what?
• Harvey sees his own reflection in a puddle and challenges it to a fight
• Doug hurries home to log-in and see if the new Stilton's Place has been posted yet

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Mike aka Proof- That's better than if the Queen is (perhaps mistakenly) heard saying, "Lady, die!"

@rickn8or- And why would she WANT her son to be a prince? If they're rejecting the monarchy, why go for a title...unless they're keenly aware of how it can be monetized.

@Velveeta Processed Cheese Food- It's not complicated; you can't be a prince or princess unless you're in direct line for succession to the throne. Personalities (and skin colors) don't enter into it.

@She's A Beauty- That's certainly how it looks to me!

@Mike- I don't care about these idiots either, but the rest of the current news stories were too damn depressing.

@Fish Out of Water- One of the few good things that "royals" can bring to the party is a sense of dignity, strength, and desire to serve their subjects. Harry and Meghan aren't showing any of those qualities. And if they want to reject royalty, I say more power to them - but don't bore us all by whining about it!

@Mike- Harry was dressed as one of those good, playful Nazis. Not the bad ones.

@Bobo the Hobo- I'd ask Pepe le Pew to translate that for me, only he's been canceled.

@Sortahwitte- Yeah, she definitely seems to have an agenda. Plus, I'm guessing she had the skills to show Harry a very, very good time (know what I mean? Wink-wink, nudge-nudge) at least prior to the wedding.

@M. Mitchell Marmel- Evil (but funny) Oprah quote, and wonderful caption about Aqualung!

@Average Joe- I do not like their pity show, I do not like them Average Joe!

@TrickyRicky- God help us and the Republic.

@Dean Wormer- Well, history repeats itself...

@Bobo- Now he's "the Archie formerly known as Prince."

@Anonymous- Agreed!

@Anonymous- Apparently not.

@Shelly- A monarchy strikes me as somewhat nutty, but no nuttier than what we're seeing over here these days. And the royal family has done many good works across the pond. I don't care about them, but have nothing against them.

@John the Econ- Yes, before she became St. Oprah, Winfrey was doing sleaze-tastic shows like the one about teenage sex in which she and her guests discussed "rainbow parties." The young girls each wear a different color lipstick and take turns wrapping their lips around a young man's joystick - each one leaving a ring of another color until there's a "rainbow." Mind you, Oprah didn't seem to disprove.

And I completely agree that this whole exercise is to show that anyone can (and should) be a "victim." Although when I read your (great) description of their desire to be Kardashians with titles, I must admit I initially read it as "Kardashians with titties." And I'm not proud of it.

Stilton Jarlsberg said...

@Fish Out of Water- Really?! Bastards! "Obama sock puppet" is a simple statement of fact!

@John the Econ- Yep, Progressives can (and are) forgiven for everything.

@Anonymous- I think you're right that Meghan and Harry are not fated to grow old together. And Harry is the one who will suffer for it.

@DougM- Fine captions all! Well done, sir!

@Stilton: Instead of 'Obama sock puppet' a short time ago, I posted a comment on the WSJ containing the descriptor, 'the Obama marionette', which went through without any 'moderation'

My sense is some prog reported past comments containing the sock puppet descriptor, and the term was put on the 'list'.

It'll be interesting to see how long I can use the Obama marionette, be for future comments can pass without 'moderation'.

M. Mitchell Marmel said...

@Fish: There's always "Obama's Mortimer Snerd", "Obama's Knucklehead Smif", "Obama's Supermarionation character" and so on... ;-)

Apparently they fail to understand that "Pepé Le Pew" is intended to be a 'GOOD' example of a 'BAD' example. ☺

Most of the young-ins knew that back then. Otherwise it can be used for a teaching opportunity.

I'm going to watch 'Blazing Saddles' again. I need a good laugh!

John the Econ said...

@Stilton, you are clearly far more familiar with the pre-St. Oprah than I am.

And of course, if you are going to be competing with the Kardashians, it helps to have plenty of titties on display front-and-center.

Say what you will about the current state of the royals, but at least they possess the pretense of being a positive for their society. Like most wealthy Progressives, these two just seem to want to tear society apart while feeding off of it from the distant comfort and safety of their exclusive suburban (and drastically white) enclave.

Unrelated Insanity: Now that Dr. Seuss is out of the way, thankfully Pepe Le Pew has been cancelled, sparing our current and future generations of youth exposure to his wanton display of misogyny, toxic masculinity and rape culture. No doubt that Pepe Le Pew was the critical childhood component behind the behavior of Harvey Weinstein and Jeffery Epstein.

Pepe Le Pew's cancellation will give our children less distraction from more acceptable entertainments, such as listening to Cardi B and setting hookers on fire in Grand Theft Auto.

Fish Out of Water said...

@M. Mitchell Marmel: Thanks for the suggestions, though I see them as overly tame. Perhaps once the WSJ's Ministry of Truth 'Moderators' catch up with me, I will have moved on to: the Obama dingbat president, or the Frankenbama president, or the Obama of a different color president....

I've always been kinda disappointed in ANY American who gives a rat's a$$ about any "royalty" anywhere. That kind of thinking should have been left in the dustbin of history. I think it stayed around because the Founding Fathers didn't expel all the Tories after the Revolution.
Sadly, it's a lost opportunity.

My ancestors, the ones who never owned the slaves we're all accused of having, quit caring about the monarchy sometime prior to 1776. Still don't here, although as a man I do hope Megan takes good care of Harry's cajones she obviously has in her purse. Nothing about multimillionaire whiners being interviewed by the absolute luckiest woman in the world is the least interesting to me.
