As surely and inflexibly ritualistic as its Japanese antecedent, yet another Kabuki performance is on display in our media. As koto music is plucked in the background, we see Donald Trump astride the stage, boldly making an "insensitive" tweet. His antagonist, in this case Elijah "Bowling Ball Head"
Cummings, then dramatically declares that Trump is a racist for calling his largely black congressional district a "disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess" and a "very dangerous & filthy place." Offstage, kodo drums beat loudly to indicate that a storm is gathering or, perhaps, just to wake up an audience that has seen this drama way
Unavoidably, anything we could say about this idiocy would pretty much be Kabuki commentary
at this point, so we'll just say that it's pretty odd for a President of the United States to be called a white racist because he says that poor black Americans should be able to live in communities which aren't
filled with rats, poverty, and crime.
Elijah Cummings is, of course, against that notion
|"No justice, no cheese!"|
When will we discover that Black Lies Matter?
Isn't Cummings a brotha of the guy who was afraid Guam would tip over with more troops?
Moe! Larry! The cheese!
and............the pied piper was also deemed a racist for trying to lure the rats away from their homes......... ah huh.
I remember going out to eat with a bunch of folks we knew overseas. We went to a Japanese place across from a big AT&T building (this was around 1982 or 3).
As we ate, we could look across the street and at the AT&T building were a half dozen guys hanging out.
Once every few minutes one or two would leave the immediate vicinity for a while, then return and rifle through what looked like wallets.
We did call the cops. They didn't seem interested. After a while, though, a meter-maid kind of cart came up...and nothing happened.
Went to Inner Harbor after that, but never downtown Ballmer again.
Drove through it a few times about ten years or so ago, never got off 95. Was very thankful I didn't have to get gasoline, have a flat tire, or break down.
It took me a while to find this again, but LA has at least 107 cases of Bubonic Plague.
It doesn't get much more serious than that. (https://explainlife.com/california-has-fallen-worlds-most-feared-illness-now-spreading-in-los-angeles-15846/)
Can you believe that President Trump has these morons defending rat infested slums? It doesn't matter what he says, these nitwits take the opposing side (like Pavlov's dog). Orkin puts out a list of the top 10 rat infested cities. You already know the common denominator.
The folks in Baltimore keep electing the same morons and expect different results.
@Jim: Does that make them Baltimorons?
As one who used to call that city and the People's Democratic Republic of Maryland home, the democratic party has controlled politics there since the beginning of time. Used to joke the state Republican conventions could be held in a high school gymnasium, Republicans being so few in number. That one must grasp before shooting from the hip on Maryland politics.
And speaking of Kabuki, the latest gun-related tragedy has the progs ( would you believe the NYT's Dowd has labeled them as the neo-puritans😮?) are trotting out usual. As further information becomes available, I may be proven wrong, but as with past incidents such as these, wouldn't be surprised if the now dead coward had something that should have disqualified him from possessing a firearm.
Even Edgar Allan Poe didn't like Baltimore. He died there. Baltimore today would make a good Poe story. There's just so much material........
Spent many summers in a suburb of Ballmer in the 60s & 70s. My uncle was a Lieutenant with Baltimore City Police. It was always an “angry” city. The black folk were perpetually pissed off, especially in the service industries and especially at whitey. Then came the Inner Harbor, Camden, the rebirth of Fell’s Point, etc. It was fun for awhile but as the government became a 100% black affair, the city began descending again into what it is now, a lawless shithole. But by all means, let’s be sure to crucify DJT (yet again) for calling a spade a spade.
Call them what they are: Carpetbaggers. Just as happened after the end of the Civil War, scoundrels and thieves made their way into every level of government, took everything of value and destroyed what they couldn't steal. They broke the spirits of the honest, God-fearing, people who either escaped to other, better, safer, places, or they caved-in under the weight of the evil around them.
Baltimore, Chicago, D.C., San Francisco, and many other once vibrant and productive cities and towns, are infested with these vermin. Exterminating them will take time, treasure, and a willingness to be more evil and violent then the rats you are trying to remove.
The perpetual poverty is the result of a people learning to live off the teat of government instead of acting on their own in their pursuit in fending for themselves. This is democratic policy at work.
By keeping the neighborhoods 'needy' they are automatically predisposed to voting democrat as they are the party that promises to keep the pipeline of cash and housing flowing. A citizenry that cannot take care of themselves also cannot take care of the place they live in. Baltimore is proof of that.
Trump has elevated more black families out of poverty in two years than all of the social re-engineering the democrats have done since the 60's. This is a direct threat to the democrat monopoly on needy people and will be resisted with all their might.
Still in doubt about evolution ?
Take another look at the representative from Maryland's 7th District.
Back in '92 or '93, while living in the PDRM (the state gov't finally drove us out in '13), I read an article in the Blue Press a professor at a university in Florida (the name Kleck sicks in my mind) assigned his Criminology class a research project, intended to provide ammunition for his rabid anti-gun stance, that would show just how bloody and deadly the "Wild West" was.
The parameters of "The West:" From the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean and from Canada to Mexico. As a control factor, Baltimore was chosen as the most cosmopolitan Eastern city since its population most closely matched that of "The West."
Delving into police/law enforcement records, court records, letters, newspaper articles, books, etc., the class found that the violent crime rate in the "Wild West" was half that of Baltimore; proving yet again that what goes around comes around.
Side note: the professor was intellectually honest enough that he changed his stance and is now a firearms supporter.
There's a common denominator in many cities around the country. Gary, Blue Island IL, Harvey IL, Dolton IL, just to name a few in my area. Certain types move in (or are Section 8'ed) and the area goes to s***. All the cities mentioned were bustling, prosperous places 50, 60, 70 years ago. Now they are known as "Don't Go There" cities.
@Fred Ciampi- I found an interesting Poe quote that seem apropos.
"The nose of a mob is it's imagination. By this, at any time, it can be quietly led."
Bowling Ball Head Cummings would no doubt say that Baltimore is a wonderful city with a thriving economy because of his brilliant leadership, and simultaneously claim that any crime or crappy neighborhoods that may exist are because of the 23 white Republicans who live there.
Typical politician.... ready to thump his chest at the good things, and blame the bad on somebody else. "No matter how hard I try, I just can't make those 23 honkies stop ruining my district. Boo hoo hoo."
The Mueller report is now history in The Donald's mind, so he is off on his next Twitter Crusade; trying to make folks realize that it's Democrat policies that are destroying once great cities.
If folks who are living under conditions like we see in Baltimore, San Fran, LA and so many other cities ever stop listening to the likes of Elijah Cummings or Al Sharpton, and see what is REALLY happening to them, there would never be another Democrat win an election. Powerful shit, that, and Lord knows trump could start the ball rolling.
@Murphy(AZ): Are you talking about the effort required to remove rats... or the carpetbagging Democrat "leaders"?
You can't have Democrat without a RAT.
I'm becoming concerned that all this ridiculous clowning around by the D's is a well-organized smoke screen to provide cover and concealment for what surely must already be underway; and we are letting letting ourselves be distracted by so easily ridiculing them.
The CONCERN is the Deep D's etal already know they can't win the next elections fairly. So what must be going on? How do they plan to either steal it? And/or to stop Trump some other way since all they have tried so far has failed. When he wins it for a second full term by cutting into their base while building his own... that will mean many of them will face real justice. It seems we're very close to the point where history will eventually decide this period was the "Cold" U.S. Civil War.
Stilt, thanks for introducing me to kodo drumming. I watched a few examples on youtube and found it fascinating.
It also brought back memories of great drum solos, such as in Big Noise From Winnetka and drummers like Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Phil Collins and one of my favorites, the tragically lost late Keith Moon.
All of these go to show that percussion can stand alone as great music.
Well, heckfire, no wonder the Dems are incensed about the President's tweets! All those rats (even Norwegian ones) vote Democrat, and sometimes more than once in the same election!
The last time I was in baltimore was really the last time. A group of us were leading a HazMat seminar at the U of Maryland. We decided to take in a Orioles evening game. It seemed funny that the parking lot had a 8 foot chain link fence with barbed wire on the top. Not so funny when the game was over. Screaming, taunting, race expletives from a large contingent of ghetto rats. What a shame. It used to be a historic and interesting town. Now, it's a dirty toilet bowl. I went to high school in austin, tx. I loved the town. Now, however, it's headed down the same road as others, riding the socialist train.
Baltimore. New York. San Francisco. Los Angeles. Seattle. The ever-growing list of major American cities with 1-party rule for decades that are literally turning feral. And Progressives argue that the only solution to this decline back towards the dark ages is more Progressive federal involvement.
As usual, it's both amusing and frustrating to watch the Progressive establishment launch against Trump for stating both the obvious, and something that even other Progressives have noted for quite some time. It just lends credence to the notion that like with the border crisis, to Progressives the plight of "the poor" is only something to use as a tool against conservatives when convenient. When no longer politically useful as a cudgel, they just sink back into the background noise until needed again.
@Pat Cummings- When strong black voices like Candace Owens start pushing the liars aside.
@Michael- I'm not sure if they're related or not. Though they seem like they went to the same schools...
@M. Mitchell Marmel- I shed a bitter salt tear for the generations who don't understand the comedic importance of that phrase.
@Hankiepoop- I can think of several politicians who should be pied.
@Dan- Even Bernie Sanders likened Baltimore to a third world country (ie, "shithole"). It is what it is, and if liberals disagree, they should by all means walk through the city streets at night...without security...and see how things play out.
@james daily- Bubonic Plague is probably just a warm up for a wave of Ebola. These Democrat strongholds are more conducive for vermin and illnesses to thrive in than actual people.
@Jim Irre- And that genuinely saddens me.
@M. Mitchell Marmel- I'm pretty sure it does.
@Fish Out of Water- There seems to be a subtle correlation between the party in power and the wretch state of, well, the state. Regarding the shooting at the Garlic Festival, I'm certainly saddened and angry. But I'm angry at the killer, and those who may have been able to stop him. I don't care WHAT his politics were - he just wanted to kill. I'm glad that a strong and rapid police response quickly put this asshole down like the rabid dog he was.
@Fred Ciampi- "Quoth the Raven - Baltimore."
@Section147- Indeed, the racism isn't truthfully saying that people live in an unacceptable shithole, the REAL racism is keeping people chained to that decrepit and decaying area...which is little more than a plantation that grows democrat votes. I've said it here many times, and will surely do so again: I hope I live long enough to see the slaves freed again...and for the last time.
@Murphy(AZ)- You're quite right that the Carpetbaggers and race hustlers can still suck plenty of wealth and power out of Baltimore as long as they don't give a damn how many peons have their lives destroyed in the process. It's obscene.
@Glenda T Goode- Very well put! I couldn't improve on a single word.
@Alej- Political darwinism, without question.
@John D. Egbert- Interesting story and I don't doubt it's true. By the way, I had a great-grandfather who was an honest to gosh cowboy and left us some of his stories on a wire recorder. He said that the Westerns people saw in the movies and TV shows were nonsense because the six guns were so inaccurate "two men could stand on opposite sides of a bar and shoot at each other all day without hitting anyone."
@AmyH- Now, of course, we call them "sanctuary cities."
@TrickyRicky- Poe was (and is) amazing.
@Colby Muenster- As is so often the case, pressing national business gets ignored unless Trump tweets about it - truthfully and tactlessly. Both parties have learned to look the other way as more and more Americans descend into Hell. It's about time someone started making a stink about it (and Trump's just the gu for the job).
@Pat Cummings- Po-TAY-to, Po-TAH-to.
@George- And therein lies the tail...
@Rod- I agree, we're being pointed at an awful lot of shiny objects while the real story - the BIG story - is that the Dems and deep state are surely plotting to keep Trump from getting a second term, no matter what. These rats have been backed into a corner, and that's when they're most dangerous.
@NVRick- I've been a fan of Kodo drumming for a long time - and all those other folks you mentioned, too! I also like the "big percussion" sound of Blue Man Group who, incidentally, played a song with a band of Kodo drummers. Awesomeness!
@Old Cannonballs- "Push this lever on the voting booth, and you'll be rewarded with a piece of cheese!"
@Sortahwitte- That's a genuinely sad story. And I can only shake my head as Austin, TX goes down the same road. Wait, did I say road? I meant drain.
@John the Econ- Absolutely right. It is criminal and a moral obscenity that BOTH parties are willing to accept the horrible status quo in too many cities. I don't know what the solutions will be, but step one is sure as hell naming the problem instead of hiding it. As I opined when I first endorsed Trump several years ago, he's a bull in a china shop which has needed busting up for a long time.
A link to a piece run by the Baltimore Sun of all venues, which while focusing on the woes of a place I used to call home, holds true for any major city run by democrats. This deserves national attention.
I been taught to always try to see the good in things. OK. That shiny head makes such a fine long range target; and all those fast & furry smaller rats make great & low-cost rimfire practice. What a great place!
@Fish Out of Water, just like the "border crisis" that only 6 months ago supposedly wasn't one at all outside of Trump's Twitter feed, the situation in Baltimore is only relevant when it can be used by Progressives. When Trump's metaphorical laser pointer points somewhere else, the Democrats will go back to ignoring the problems in Baltimore just as they'll go back to ignoring immigration when the hyperbole over it doesn't serve them for the moment.
Remember, as long as we're a supposed democracy, Progressivism only has a chance as long as enough people are convinced that government is their only salvation and they continue to vote for people like Elijah Cummings who are only interested in them as pawns to be exploited for pity. A thriving, healthy Baltimore is the last thing Progressives need or want. Empowered, self-sufficient citizens have little need for Progressives and what they pretend to offer.
Precisely! It's what I've always called them! Having lived in the Peoples Republic of Maryland for eight years, I can vouch to their stupidity!
I didn't watch the debate, but I hear Warren or Harris, or one of the other lefties promise to forgive Pell Grant paybacks. Sorry, I just stopped laughing long enough to point out that she (they?) must be uber stupid to not know what a grant is.....
